Psaumes 68
1 Au chef des chantres. De David. Psaume. Cantique. Que Dieu se lève! Que ses ennemis se dispersent, que ceux qui le haïssent s’enfuient crevant sa face!
For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David, a Song. Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered; let them also that hate him flee before him.
2 Comme s’évanouit, se dissipe la fumée, comme la cire se fond au feu, ainsi périssent les méchants en présence de Dieu!
As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 Mais que les justes se réjouissent, jubilent devant Dieu, et s’abandonnent à des transports de joie!
But let the righteous be glad; let them exult before God: yea, let them rejoice with gladness.
4 Entonnez des chants à Dieu, célébrez son nom, exaltez Celui qui chevauche dans les hauteurs célestes, Eternel est son nom! et faites éclater votre allégresse devant lui.
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: cast up a highway for him that rideth through the deserts; his name is JAH; and exult ye before him.
5 Dans sa sainte résidence, Dieu est le père des orphelins, le défenseur des veuves.
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6 Dieu donne un foyer à ceux qui vivent solitaires; il rend la liberté avec le bien-être aux prisonniers, mais les rebelles restent confinés dans des régions arides.
God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out the prisoners into prosperity: but the rebellious dwell in a parched land.
7 O Dieu, quand tu sortis à la tête de ton peuple, quand tu t’avanças dans les solitudes lugubres, (Sélah)
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; (Selah)
8 la terre trembla, les cieux aussi se fondirent à la vue de Dieu, ce Sinaï lui-même, à la vue du Dieu d’Israël.
The earth trembled, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: [even] yon Sinai [trembled] at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 Tu fis ruisseler, ô Dieu, une pluie bienfaisante; ainsi toi-même tu restauras ton héritage, si épuisé.
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.
10 Tes légions s’y établirent, dans ce domaine que, dans ta bonté, ô Dieu, tu avais préparé pour ces malheureux.
Thy congregation dwelt therein: thou, O God, didst prepare of thy goodness for the poor.
11 Le Seigneur fit entendre sa parole, des messages de bonheur en grande quantité:
The Lord giveth the word: the women that publish the tidings are a great host.
12 "Les rois des armées se sont enfuis, enfuis! Et celle qui garde la maison répartit le butin.
Kings of armies flee, they flee: and she that tarrieth at home divideth the spoil.
13 Resterez-vous immobiles entre les parcs de troupeaux, ô vous, ailes de la colombe, plaquées d’argent, dont les pennes ont la couleur éclatante de l’or fin?
Will ye lie among the sheepfolds, [as] the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her pinions with yellow gold?
14 Quand le Tout-Puissant dispersa les rois, le Çalmon était couvert de neige."
When the Almighty scattered kings therein, [it was as when] it snoweth in Zalmon.
15 Montagnes de Dieu, montagnes de Basan, montagnes aux croupes élevées, montagnes de Basan!
A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan; an high mountain is the mountain of Bashan.
16 Pourquoi, montagnes aux croupes élevées, pourquoi jalousez-vous la montagne que Dieu a désirée pour sa résidence? Oui, il y demeurera durant toute l’éternité.
Why look ye askance, ye high mountains, at the mountain which God hath desired for his abode? yea, the LORD will dwell [in it] for ever.
17 Les chars de Dieu se comptent par myriades et milliers répétés; avec eux le Seigneur se rend sur le Sinaï, dans le Sanctuaire.
The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands upon thousands: the Lord is among them, [as in] Sinai, in the sanctuary.
18 Tu es remonté dans les hauteurs, après avoir fait des prises; tu as reçu des dons parmi les hommes; même des rebelles sont contraints de demeurer près de l’Eternel, près de Dieu.
Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led [thy] captivity captive; thou hast received gifts among men, yea, [among] the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell [with them].
19 Loué soit le Seigneur! Jour par jour il nous accable de ses bienfaits, lui, le Dieu de notre salut. (Sélah)
Blessed be the Lord, who daily beareth our burden, even the God who is our salvation. (Selah)
20 Le Tout-Puissant est pour nous un Dieu sauveur, grâce à Dieu, notre Seigneur, on échappe à la mort.
God is unto us a God of deliverances; and unto JEHOVAH the Lord belong the issues from death.
21 Mais Dieu fracasse la tête de ses ennemis, le crâne chevelu de quiconque suit une voie criminelle.
But God shall smite through the head of his enemies, the hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still in his guiltiness.
22 Le Seigneur a dit: "De Basan, je ramènerai mon peuple, je le ramènerai des profondeurs de la mer,
The Lord said, I will bring again from Bashan, I will bring [them] again from the depths of the sea:
23 pour que ton pied baigne dans le sang, et que la langue de tes chiens ait sa part dans les dépouilles des ennemis."
That thou mayest dip thy foot in blood, that the tongue of thy dogs may have its portion from [thine] enemies.
24 On a vu ta marche triomphale, ô Dieu, la marche de mon Dieu, de mon Roi, en son Sanctuaire.
They have seen thy goings, O God, even the goings of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
25 En tête sont les chanteurs, puis viennent les joueurs d’instruments, au milieu de jeunes filles battant du tambourin.
The singers went before, the minstrels followed after, in the midst of the damsels playing with timbrels.
26 "Dans vos groupes, Bénissez Dieu! Bénissez le Seigneur, vous tous, issus de la source d’Israël!
Bless ye God in the congregations, even the Lord, [ye that are] of the fountain of Israel.
27 Là c’est Benjamin, le plus jeune, qui dirige la procession, les princes de Juda s’avancent avec leurs frondeurs, puis les princes de Zabulon, les princes de Nephtali."
There is little Benjamin their ruler, the princes of Judah [and] their council, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
28 L’Eternel a décrété ta victoire, c’est un triomphe, ô Dieu, que tu as préparé pour nous.
Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.
29 De ton sanctuaire, tu veilles sur Jérusalem; à toi les Rois apportent des présents.
Because of thy temple at Jerusalem kings shall bring presents unto thee.
30 Gourmande la bête tapie dans les joncs, la troupe des puissants taureaux mêlés aux bouvillons des nations, qui viennent s’humilier, munies de lingots d’argent. Dieu disperse les peuples qui aiment les batailles.
Rebuke the wild beast of the reeds, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the peoples, trampling under foot the pieces of silver; he hath scattered the peoples that delight in war.
31 De grands personnages arrivent de l’Egypte; l’Ethiopie tend avidement ses mains vers Dieu.
Princes shall come out of Egypt; Ethiopia shall haste to stretch out her hands unto God.
32 O Royaumes de la terre, entonnez des chants à Dieu! Célébrez le Seigneur, (Sélah)
Sing unto God, ye kingdoms of the earth; O sing praises unto the Lord; (Selah)
33 Célébrez Celui qui chevauche les cieux antiques; voici qu’il fait retentir sa voix, une voix formidable.
To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which are of old; lo, he uttereth his voice, [and that] a mighty voice.
34 Proclamez la puissance de Dieu; sa majesté s’étend sur Israël, et sa force éclate dans les nuées.
Ascribe ye strength unto God: his excellency is over Israel, and his strength is in the skies.
35 Tu apparais redoutable, ô Dieu, du fond de ton sanctuaire; le Dieu d’Israël octroie force et vigueur au peuple. Que Dieu soit béni!
O God, [thou art] terrible out of thy holy places: the God of Israel, he giveth strength and power unto [his] people. Blessed be God.
