Exode 11

1 L’Éternel avait dit à Moïse: "Il est une plaie encore que j’enverrai à Pharaon et à l’Égypte et alors il vous laissera partir de ce pays; en le faisant cette fois, il vous en repoussera d’une manière absolue.

Now the Lord had saide vnto Moses, yet will I bring one plague more vpon Pharaoh, and vpon Egypt: after that, he will let you go hence: when he letteth you goe, he shall at once chase you hence.

2 Fais donc entendre au peuple que chacun ait à demander à son voisin et chacune à sa voisine, des vases d’argent et des vases d’or."

Speake thou nowe to the people, that euery man require of his neighbour, and euery woman of her neighbour iewels of siluer and iewels of gold.

3 Le Seigneur avait fait trouver faveur à son peuple chez les Égyptiens; cet homme aussi, Moïse, était très considéré dans le pays d’Égypte, aux yeux des serviteurs de Pharaon et aux yeux du peuple.

And the Lord gaue the people fauour in the sight of the Egyptians: also Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaohs seruantes, and in the sight of the people.)

4 Moïse ajouta: "Ainsi a parlé l’Éternel: ‘Au milieu de la nuit, je m’avancerai à travers l’Égypte

Also Moses sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, About midnight will I goe out into the middes of Egypt.

5 et alors périra tout premier-né dans le pays d’Égypte, depuis le premier né de Pharaon qui devait occuper son trône, jusqu’au premier-né de l’esclave qui fait tourner la meule; de même tous les premiers-nés des animaux.

And all the first borne in the lande of Egypt shall die, from the first borne of Pharaoh that sitteth on his throne, vnto the first borne of the maide seruant, that is at the mille, and all the first borne of beastes.

6 Et ce sera une clameur immense dans tout le pays d’Égypte, telle qu’il n’y en a pas eu, qu’il n’y en aura plus de pareille.

Then there shalbe a great crie throughout all the land of Egypt, such as was neuer none like, nor shalbe.

7 Quant aux enfants d’Israël, pas un chien n’aboiera contre eux ni contre leur bétail afin que vous reconnaissiez combien l’Éternel distingue entre Misraïm et Israël.

But against none of ye children of Israel shall a dogge moue his tongue, neyther against man nor beast, that ye may knowe that the Lord putteth a difference betweene the Egyptians and Israel.

8 Tous ces courtisans qui t’entourent descendront jusqu’à moi et se prosterneront à mes pieds en disant: 'Pars, toi et tout le peuple qui t’obéit!' Et alors je partirai.’" Et il sortit, tout courroucé, de devant Pharaon.

And all these thy seruants shall come downe vnto me, and fal before me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that are at thy feete, and after this will I depart. So he went out from Pharaoh very angry.

9 L’Éternel avait dit à Moïse: "Pharaon ne vous cédera point, afin que mes miracles se multiplient dans le pays d’Égypte."

And the Lord saide vnto Moses, Pharaoh shall not heare you, that my wonders may bee multiplied in the land of Egypt.

10 Or, Moïse et Aaron avaient exécuté tous ces miracles à la vue de Pharaon mais l’Éternel endurcit le cœur de Pharaon et il ne renvoya point les Israélites de son pays.

So Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh: but the Lord hardened Pharaohs heart, and he suffred not the children of Israel to goe out of his lande.
