Psaumes 138

1 De David. Je te célébrerai de tout mon cœur; je chanterai tes louanges devant les dieux.

A Psalm for David, of Aggaeus and Zacharias. I will give thee thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; and I will sing psalms to thee before the angels; for thou hast heard all the words of my mouth.

2 Je me prosternerai vers le temple de ta sainteté, et je célébrerai ton nom à cause de ta bonté et à cause de ta vérité; car tu as exalté ta parole au-dessus de tout ton nom.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks to thy name, on account of thy mercy and thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy holy name above every thing.

3 Au jour où j’ai crié, tu m’as répondu; tu as augmenté la force de mon âme.

In whatsoever day I shall call upon thee, hear me speedily; thou shalt abundantly provide me with thy power in my soul.

4 Tous les rois de la terre te célébreront, ô Éternel! quand ils auront entendu les paroles de ta bouche;

Let all the kings of the earth, o Lord, give thanks unto thee; for they have heard all the words of thy mouth.

5 Et ils chanteront dans les voies de l’Éternel, car grande est la gloire de l’Éternel.

And let them sing in the ways of the Lord; for great is the glory of the Lord.

6 Car l’Éternel est haut élevé; mais il voit ceux qui sont en bas état, et il connaît de loin les hautains.

For the Lord is high, and [yet] regards the lowly; and he knows high things from afar off.

7 Si je marche au milieu de la détresse, tu me feras vivre, tu étendras ta main contre la colère de mes ennemis, et ta droite me sauvera.

Though I should walk in the midst of affliction, thou wilt quicken me; thou hast stretched forth thine hands against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand has saved me.

8 L’Éternel achèvera ce qui me concerne. Éternel! ta bonté demeure à toujours. N’abandonne pas les œuvres de tes mains.

O Lord, thou shalt recompense [them] on my behalf: thy mercy, O Lord, [endures] for ever: overlook not the works of thine hands.
