Lévitique 4

1 Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Parle aux fils d’Israël, en disant: Si quelqu’un a péché par erreur contre quelqu’un des commandements de l’Éternel dans les choses qui ne doivent pas se faire, et a commis quelqu’une de ces choses:

Speak to the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin unwillingly before the Lord, in any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which he ought not to do, and shall do some of them;

3 si c’est le sacrificateur oint qui a péché selon quelque faute du peuple, alors il présentera à l’Éternel, pour son péché qu’il aura commis, un jeune taureau sans défaut, en sacrifice pour le péché.

if the anointed priest sin so as to cause the people to sin, then shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned, an unblemished calf of the herd to the Lord for his sin.

4 Et il amènera le taureau à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation, devant l’Éternel; et il posera sa main sur la tête du taureau, et égorgera le taureau devant l’Éternel;

And he shall bring the calf to the door of the tabernacle of witness before the Lord, and he shall put his hand on the head of the calf before the Lord, and shall slay the calf in the presence of the Lord.

5 et le sacrificateur oint prendra du sang du taureau, et il l’apportera dans la tente d’assignation;

And the anointed priest who has been consecrated having received of the blood of the calf, shall then bring it into the tabernacle of witness.

6 et le sacrificateur trempera son doigt dans le sang, et fera aspersion du sang sept fois, devant l’Éternel, par-devant le voile du lieu saint;

And the priest shall dip his finger into the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, over against the holy veil.

7 et le sacrificateur mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel de l’encens des drogues odoriférantes qui est dans la tente d’assignation, devant l’Éternel; et il versera tout le sang du taureau au pied de l’autel de l’holocauste qui est à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation.

And the priest shall put of the blood of the calf on the horns of the altar of the compound incense which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and all the blood of the calf shall he pour out by the foot of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, which is by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

8 Et toute la graisse du taureau du sacrifice pour le péché, il la lèvera: la graisse qui couvre l’intérieur, et toute la graisse qui est sur l’intérieur,

and all the fat of the calf of the sin-offering shall he take off from it; the fat that covers the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards,

9 et les deux rognons, et la graisse qui est dessus, qui est sur les reins, et le réseau qui est sur le foie, qu’on ôtera jusque sur les rognons,

and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is on the thighs, and the caul that is on the liver with the kidneys, them shall he take away,

10 comme on les lève du bœuf du sacrifice de prospérités: et le sacrificateur les fera fumer sur l’autel de l’holocauste.

as he takes it away from the calf of the sacrifice of peace-offering, so shall the priest offer it on the altar of burnt-offering.

11 Et la peau du taureau et toute sa chair, avec sa tête, et ses jambes, et son intérieur, et sa fiente,

And [they shall take] the skin of the calf, and all his flesh with the head and the extremities and the belly and the dung,

12 tout le taureau, il l’emportera hors du camp, dans un lieu net, là où l’on verse les cendres, et il le brûlera sur du bois, au feu; il sera brûlé au lieu où l’on verse les cendres.

and they shall carry out the whole calf out of the camp into a clean place, where they pour out the ashes, and they shall consume it there on wood with fire: it shall be burnt on the ashes poured out.

13 Et si toute l’assemblée d’Israël a péché par erreur et que la chose soit restée cachée aux yeux de la congrégation, et qu’ils aient fait, à l’égard de l’un de tous les commandements de l’Éternel, ce qui ne doit pas se faire, et se soient rendus coupables,

And if the whole congregation of Israel trespass ignorantly, and a thing should escape the notice of the congregation, and they should do one thing forbidden of any of the commands of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and should transgress:

14 et que le péché qu’ils ont commis contre le [commandement] vienne à être connu, alors la congrégation présentera un jeune taureau en sacrifice pour le péché, et on l’amènera devant la tente d’assignation;

and the sin wherein they have sinned should become known to them, then shall the congregation bring an unblemished calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and they shall bring it to the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

15 et les anciens de l’assemblée poseront leurs mains sur la tête du taureau, devant l’Éternel; et on égorgera le taureau devant l’Éternel.

And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the calf before the Lord, and they shall slay the calf before the Lord.

16 Et le sacrificateur oint apportera du sang du taureau dans la tente d’assignation;

And the anointed priest shall bring in of the blood of the calf into the tabernacle of witness.

17 et le sacrificateur trempera son doigt dans ce sang, et en fera aspersion, sept fois, devant l’Éternel, par-devant le voile;

And the priest shall dip his finger into some of the blood of the calf, and shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.

18 et il mettra du sang sur les cornes de l’autel qui est devant l’Éternel, dans la tente d’assignation; et il versera tout le sang au pied de l’autel de l’holocauste qui est à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation.

And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of the incense of composition, which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, which is by the door of the tabernacle of witness.

19 Et il lèvera toute la graisse, et la fera fumer sur l’autel:

And he shall take away all the fat from it, and shall offer it up on the altar.

20 il fera du taureau comme il a fait du taureau pour le péché; il fera ainsi de lui. Et le sacrificateur fera propitiation pour eux, et il leur sera pardonné.

And he shall do to the calf as he did to the calf of the sin-offering, so shall it be done; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and the trespass shall be forgiven them.

21 Et on emportera le taureau hors du camp, et on le brûlera comme on a brûlé le premier taureau: c’est un sacrifice pour le péché pour la congrégation.

And they shall carry forth the calf whole without the camp, and they shall burn the calf as they burnt the former calf: it is the sin-offering of the congregation.

22 Si un chef a péché, et a fait par erreur, à l’égard de l’un de tous les commandements de l’Éternel, son Dieu, ce qui ne doit pas se faire, et s’est rendu coupable,

And if a ruler sin, and break one of all the commands of the Lord his God, [doing the thing] which ought not to be done, unwillingly, and shall sin and trespass,

23 si on lui a fait connaître son péché qu’il a commis, alors il amènera pour son offrande un bouc, un mâle sans défaut;

and his trespass wherein he has sinned, be known to him, then shall he offer for his gift a kid of the goats, a male without blemish.

24 et il posera sa main sur la tête du bouc, et il l’égorgera au lieu où l’on égorge l’holocauste devant l’Éternel: c’est un sacrifice pour le péché.

And he shall lay his hand on the head of the kid, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the [victims for] whole-burnt-offerings before the Lord; it is a sin-offering.

25 Et le sacrificateur prendra avec son doigt du sang du sacrifice pour le péché, et le mettra sur les cornes de l’autel de l’holocauste, et il versera le sang au pied de l’autel de l’holocauste;

And the priest shall put some of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger on the horns of the altar of whole-burnt-offering; and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings.

26 et il fera fumer toute la graisse sur l’autel, comme la graisse du sacrifice de prospérités; et le sacrificateur fera propitiation pour lui [pour le purifier] de son péché, et il lui sera pardonné.

And he shall offer up all his fat on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

27 Et si quelqu’un du peuple du pays a péché par erreur, en faisant, à l’égard de l’un des commandements de l’Éternel, ce qui ne doit pas se faire, et s’est rendu coupable,

And if a soul of the people of the land should sin unwillingly, in doing a thing [contrary to] any of the commandments of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and shall transgress,

28 si on lui a fait connaître son péché qu’il a commis, alors il amènera son offrande, une chèvre, une femelle sans défaut, pour son péché qu’il a commis;

and his sin should be known to him, wherein he has sinned, then shall he bring a kid of the goats, a female without blemish shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned.

29 et il posera sa main sur la tête du sacrifice pour le péché, et égorgera le sacrifice pour le péché au lieu où [l’on égorge] l’holocauste.

And he shall lay his hand on the head of his sin-offering, and they shall slay the kid of the sin-offering in the place where they slay the [victims for] whole-burnt-offerings.

30 Et le sacrificateur prendra du sang de la [chèvre] avec son doigt, et le mettra sur les cornes de l’autel de l’holocauste, et il versera tout le sang au pied de l’autel.

And the priest shall take of its blood with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings; and all its blood he shall pour forth by the foot of the altar.

31 Et il ôtera toute la graisse, comme la graisse a été ôtée de dessus le sacrifice de prospérités; et le sacrificateur la fera fumer sur l’autel, en odeur agréable à l’Éternel; et le sacrificateur fera propitiation pour lui, et il lui sera pardonné.

And he shall take away all the fat, as the fat is taken away from the sacrifice of peace-offering, and the priest shall offer it on the altar for a smell of sweet savour to the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him, and [his sin] shall be forgiven him.

32 Et s’il amène un agneau pour son offrande de sacrifice pour le péché, ce sera une femelle sans défaut qu’il amènera;

And if he should offer a lamb for his sin-offering, he shall offer it a female without blemish.

33 et il posera sa main sur la tête du sacrifice pour le péché, et l’égorgera en sacrifice pour le péché au lieu où l’on égorge l’holocauste.

And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offerings, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the [victims for] whole-burnt-offerings.

34 Et le sacrificateur prendra, avec son doigt, du sang du sacrifice pour le péché et le mettra sur les cornes de l’autel de l’holocauste, et il versera tout le sang au pied de l’autel.

And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and shall put it on the horns of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole-burnt-offering.

35 Et il ôtera toute la graisse, comme la graisse de l’agneau a été ôtée du sacrifice de prospérités; et le sacrificateur la fera fumer sur l’autel, sur les sacrifices de l’Éternel faits par feu; et le sacrificateur fera propitiation pour lui pour son péché qu’il a commis; et il lui sera pardonné.

And he shall take away all his fat, as the fat of the lamb of the sacrifice of peace-offering is taken away, and the priest shall put it on the altar for a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord; and the priest shall make atonement for him for the sin which he sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.
