Jérémie 10
1 Écoutez la parole que l’Éternel vous dit, maison d’Israël!
Hear the word which he has spoken Yahweh to you O house of Israel.
2 Ainsi dit l’Éternel: N’apprenez pas le chemin des nations, et ne soyez pas effrayés des signes des cieux, car les nations s’en effraient.
Thus - he says Yahweh [the] way of the nations may not you learn and from [the] signs of the heavens may not you be dismayed for they are dismayed the nations from them.
3 Car les statuts des peuples sont vanité; car [c’est] un bois coupé de la forêt, façonné au ciseau par la main d’un artisan;
For [the] customs of the peoples [is] futility it for a tree from a forest someone has cut down it [the] work of [the] hands of a craftsman with tool.
4 on l’embellit avec de l’argent et de l’or; on le fait tenir avec des clous et des marteaux, afin qu’il ne bouge pas.
With silver and with gold he beautifies it with nails and with hammers they make strong them and not it will wobble.
5 Ils sont comme une colonne faite au tour: ils ne parlent point; on les porte, car ils ne marchent pas. Ne les craignez pas, car ils ne peuvent pas faire du mal, et aussi il n’est pas en leur pouvoir de faire du bien.
[are] like A scarecrow of a cucumber field they and not they speak certainly they are carried for not they walk may not you be afraid from them for not they do harm and also [is] doing good there not with them.
6 Nul n’est semblable à toi, ô Éternel! Tu es grand, et ton nom est grand en force.
From there not [is] like you O Yahweh [are] great you and [is] great name your in strength.
7 Qui ne te craindrait, Roi des nations? Car cela t’est dû; car, parmi tous les sages des nations et dans tous leurs royaumes, nul n’est comme toi;
Who? not will he fear you O king of the nations for for you it is befitting that among all [the] wise [people] of the nations and among all kingdom their from there not [is] like you.
8 mais jusqu’au dernier ils sont stupides et fous: l’enseignement des vanités est du bois.
And in one they are stupid and they may be foolish [the] correction of futilities [is] wood it.
9 L’argent en plaques est apporté de Tarsis, et l’or d’Uphaz, ouvrage de l’artisan et des mains du fondeur; le bleu et la pourpre sont leur vêtement: ils sont tous l’ouvrage de gens de l’art.
Silver beaten from Tarshish it is brought and gold from Uphaz [the] work of a craftsman and [the] hands of a metalsmith [is] violet stuff and purple clothing their [are the] work of skillful [people] all of them.
10 Mais l’Éternel Dieu est vérité, lui est le Dieu vivant et le Roi d’éternité; devant son courroux la terre est ébranlée, et les nations ne peuvent [soutenir] son indignation.
And Yahweh [is] God truth he [is] God living and king of perpetuity from wrath his it shakes the earth and not they will endure nations indignation his.
11 Vous leur direz ainsi: Les dieux qui n’ont pas fait les cieux et la terre, ceux-là périront de la terre et de dessous les cieux.
Like this you will say to them gods the who heavens the and earth the not they made may they perish from earth the and from under heavens the these.
12 C’est lui qui a fait la terre par sa puissance, qui a établi le monde par sa sagesse, et qui, par son intelligence, a étendu les cieux.
[he] made [the] earth By power his [he] established [the] world by wisdom his and by understanding his he stretched out [the] heavens.
13 Quand il fait retentir sa voix, il y a un tumulte d’eaux dans les cieux, et il fait monter les vapeurs du bout de la terre; il fait les éclairs pour la pluie, et de ses trésors il tire le vent.
To [the] sound of giving forth he a tumult of waters in the heavens and he made come up clouds from [the] end of (the earth *QK) lightning for the rain he makes and he brought out [the] wind from storehouses his.
14 Tout homme est devenu stupide, en sorte qu’il n’a pas de connaissance; tout fondeur a honte de l’image taillée, car son image de fonte est un mensonge; il n’y a point de respiration en elles.
He is stupid every person from knowledge he has been put to shame every metalsmith from [the] idol for [is] deception molten image his and not breath [is] in them.
15 Elles sont vanité, un ouvrage de déception: elles périront au temps de leur visitation.
[are] futility They a work of mockery at [the] time of punishment their they will perish.
16 La portion de Jacob n’est pas comme elles, car c’est Celui qui a tout formé, et Israël est la verge de son héritage: son nom est l’Éternel des armées.
Not [is] like these [the] portion of Jacob for [is [the] one who] formed everything he and Israel [is] [the] tribe of inheritance his [is] Yahweh of hosts name his.
17 Ramasse, [et porte hors] du pays ce qui t’appartient, toi qui habites la forteresse.
Gather up from [the] ground bundle your (O [you who] dwell *Qk) in the siege.
18 Car ainsi dit l’Éternel: Voici, à cette fois je vais lancer, comme avec une fronde, les habitants du pays; et je ferai venir sur eux la détresse, afin qu’on les trouve.
For thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to hurl forth [the] inhabitants of the land at the time this and I will cause distress to them so that they may find.
19 Malheur à moi, à cause de ma ruine! ma plaie est douloureuse. Et moi j’ai dit: C’est ici mon mal, et je le supporterai.
Woe! to me on fracture my [is] severe wound my and I I said surely this [is] a sickness and I will endure it.
20 Ma tente est dévastée et toutes mes cordes sont rompues; mes fils sont sortis d’auprès de moi, et ils ne sont plus; personne ne tend plus ma tente et n’arrange mes courtines.
Tent my it has been devastated and all tent cords my they have been snapped children my they have gone out from me and there not [are] they there not [is one who] pitches again tent my and [one who] raises tent curtains my.
21 Car les pasteurs sont stupides, et n’ont pas cherché l’Éternel. C’est pourquoi ils n’ont pas agi sagement, et tout leur troupeau est dispersé.
For they have behaved stupidly the shepherds and Yahweh not they have sought there-fore not they have prospered and all flock their it has been scattered.
22 Le bruit d’une rumeur! Voici, elle vient, et une grande commotion du pays du nord, pour réduire les villes de Juda en désolation, en repaire de chacals.
[the] sound of A report there! [it is] coming and a din great from a land of [the] north to make [the] cities of Judah a desolation a habitation of jackals.
23 Je sais, Éternel, que la voie de l’homme n’est pas à lui, qu’il n’est pas au pouvoir de l’homme qui marche de diriger ses pas.
I know O Yahweh that not [belongs] to person way his not [belongs] to a person [who] walks to direct step[s] his.
24 Éternel! corrige-moi, mais avec mesure, non dans ta colère, de peur que tu ne me rendes chétif.
Correct me O Yahweh only in justice may not [it be] in anger your lest you should diminish me.
25 Verse ta fureur sur les nations qui ne t’ont pas connu et sur les familles qui n’invoquent pas ton nom; car elles ont dévoré Jacob: ils l’ont dévoré, et ils l’ont consumé, et ils ont désolé son habitation.
Pour out rage your on the nations which not they have known you and on clans which on name your not they have called for they have consumed Jacob and they have consumed him and they have made an end of him and habitation his they have devastated.
