Deutéronome 27

1 Et Moïse et les anciens d’Israël commandèrent au peuple, disant: Gardez tout le commandement que je vous commande aujourd’hui;

And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded, saying, Keep all these commands, all that I command you this day.

2 et il arrivera que le jour où vous passerez le Jourdain, [pour entrer] dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne, tu te dresseras de grandes pierres, et tu les enduiras de chaux;

And it shall come to pass in the day when ye shall cross over Jordan into the land which the Lord thy God gives thee, that thou shalt set up for thyself great stones, and shalt plaster them with plaster.

3 et tu écriras sur elles toutes les paroles de cette loi, quand tu auras passé, pour entrer dans le pays que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne, pays ruisselant de lait et de miel, comme l’Éternel, le Dieu de tes pères, t’a dit.

And thou shalt write on these stones all the words of this law, as soon as ye have crossed Jordan, when ye are entered into the land, which the Lord God of thy fathers gives thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, according as the Lord God of thy fathers said to thee.

4 Et il arrivera, quand vous passerez le Jourdain, que vous dresserez ces pierres sur la montagne d’Ébal, [selon ce] que je vous commande aujourd’hui, et tu les enduiras de chaux.

And it shall be as soon as ye are gone over Jordan, ye shall set up these stones, which I command thee this day, on mount Gaebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.

5 Et tu bâtiras là un autel à l’Éternel, ton Dieu, un autel de pierres, sur lesquelles tu ne lèveras pas le fer:

And thou shalt build there an altar to the Lord thy God, an altar of stones; thou shalt not lift up iron upon it.

6 tu bâtiras l’autel de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, de pierres entières; et tu offriras dessus des holocaustes à l’Éternel, ton Dieu.

Of whole stones shalt thou build an altar to the Lord thy God, and thou shalt offer upon it whole-burnt-offerings to the Lord thy God.

7 Et tu y sacrifieras des sacrifices de prospérités, et tu mangeras là, et te réjouiras devant l’Éternel, ton Dieu.

And thou shalt there offer a peace-offering; and thou shalt eat and be filled, and rejoice before the Lord thy God.

8 Et tu écriras sur ces pierres toutes les paroles de cette loi, en les gravant bien nettement.

And thou shalt write upon the stones all this law very plainly.

9 Et Moïse et les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, parlèrent à tout Israël, disant: Fais silence et écoute, Israël: Aujourd’hui tu es devenu le peuple de l’Éternel, ton Dieu.

And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hear, O Israel; this day thou art become a people to the Lord thy God.

10 Et tu écouteras la voix de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et tu pratiqueras ses commandements et ses statuts, que je te commande aujourd’hui.

And thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and shalt do all his commands, and his ordinances, as many as I command thee this day.

11 Et Moïse commanda au peuple ce jour-là, disant:

And Moses charged the people on that day, saying,

12 Quand vous aurez passé le Jourdain, ceux-ci se tiendront sur la montagne de Garizim pour bénir le peuple: Siméon, et Lévi, et Juda, et Issacar, et Joseph, et Benjamin;

These shall stand to bless the people on mount Garizin having gone over Jordan; Symeon, Levi, Judas, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

13 et ceux-ci se tiendront sur la montagne d’Ébal, pour maudire: Ruben, Gad, et Aser, et Zabulon, Dan, et Nephthali.

And these shall stand for cursing on mount Gaebal; Ruben, Gad, and Aser, Zabulon, Dan, and Nephthali.

14 Et les Lévites prendront la parole, et diront à haute voix à tous les hommes d’Israël:

And the Levites shall answer and say to all Israel with a loud voice,

15 Maudit l’homme qui fait une image taillée, ou une image de fonte (une abomination de l’Éternel, œuvre des mains d’un artisan), et qui la place dans un lieu secret! Et tout le peuple répondra, et dira: Amen!

Cursed [is] the man whosoever shall make a graven or molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of craftsmen, and shall put it in a secret place: and all the people shall answer and say, So be it.

16 Maudit qui méprise son père et sa mère! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is the man that dishonours his father or his mother: and all the people shall say, So be it.

17 Maudit qui recule les bornes de son prochain! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that removes his neighbour's landmarks: and all the people shall say, So be it.

18 Maudit qui fait égarer l’aveugle dans le chemin! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that makes the blind to wander in the way: and all the people shall say, So be it.

19 Maudit qui fait fléchir le jugement de l’étranger, de l’orphelin, et de la veuve! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is every one that shall pervert the judgment of the stranger, and orphan, and widow: and all the people shall say, So be it.

20 Maudit qui couche avec la femme de son père, car il relève le pan du vêtement de son père! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt: and all the people shall say, So be it.

21 Maudit qui couche avec une bête quelconque! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that lies with any beast: and all the people shall say, So be it.

22 Maudit qui couche avec sa sœur, fille de son père, ou fille de sa mère! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that lies with his sister by his father or his mother: and all the people shall say, So be it.

23 Maudit qui couche avec sa belle-mère! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that lies with his daughter-in-law: and all the people shall say, So be it. Cursed is he that lies with his wife's sister: and all the people shall say, So be it.

24 Maudit qui frappe son prochain en secret! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he that smites his neighbour secretly: and all the people shall say, So be it.

25 Maudit qui prend un présent pour frapper à mort un homme, [en versant] le sang innocent! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is he whosoever shall have taken a bribe to slay an innocent man: and all the people shall say, So be it.

26 Maudit qui n’accomplit pas les paroles de cette loi, en les pratiquant! Et tout le peuple dira: Amen!

Cursed is every man that continues not in all the words of this law to do them: and all the people shall say, So be it.
