Ézéchiel 29

1 La dixième année, au dixième mois, le douze du mois, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

In the tenth year, in the tenth month on the twelfth day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

2 " Fils de l'homme, tourne ta face contre Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, et prophétise sur lui et sur l'Egypte tout entière;

“Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt; prophesy against him and against all of Egypt.

3 parle et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je viens à toi, Pharaon, roi d'Egypte, toi le grand crocodile, couché au milieu de tes fleuves, qui as dit: " Mon fleuve est à moi, et c'est moi qui me le suis fait. "

Declare and say, 'The Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I am against you, Pharaoh, king of Egypt. You, the great sea monster that lurks in the midst of the river, that says, “My river is my own. I have made it for myself.”

4 Je mettrai des crochets dans tes mâchoires, et je ferai s'attacher à tes écailles les poissons de tes fleuves; et je te ferai monter du milieu de tes fleuves, toi et tous les poissons de tes fleuves, attachés à tes écailles;

For I will place hooks in your jaw, and the fish of your Nile will cling to your scales; I will lift you up from the middle of your river along with all the fish of the river that cling to your scales.

5 et je te jetterai au désert, toi et tous les poissons de tes fleuves; tu tomberas sur la face des champs, tu ne seras ni relevé, ni ramassé; je te donne en pâture aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux du ciel;

I will throw you down into the wilderness, you and all the fish from your river. You will fall on the open field; you will not be gathered nor lifted up. I will give you as food to the living things of the earth and to the birds of the heavens.

6 et tous les habitants de l'Egypte sauront que je suis Yahweh — parce qu'ils ont été un appui de roseau pour la maison d'Israël!

Then all the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a reed stalk to the house of Israel.

7 Quand ils te prennent avec la main, tu casses, et tu leur déchires toute l'épaule; et quand ils s'appuient sur toi, tu te brises, tu les fais se tenir sur leurs reins à tous.

When they took hold of you in their hand, you broke and tore open their shoulder; and when they leaned on you, you were broken, and you caused their legs to be unsteady.

8 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je ferai venir sur toi l'épée et j'exterminerai du milieu de toi hommes et bêtes;

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this: Behold! I will bring a sword against you. I will cut off both man and beast from you.

9 et la terre d'Egypte deviendra une désolation et un désert, et l'on saura que je suis Yahweh. Parce que Pharaon a dit: " Le fleuve est à moi, et c'est moi qui l'ai fait, "

So the land of Egypt will become desolate and a ruin. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, because the sea monster had said, “The river is mine, for I have made it.”

10 à cause de cela, voici que je viens à toi et à tes fleuves; et je ferai du pays d'Egypte des ruines désertes et désolées, de Migdol a Syène, et jusqu'à la frontière de l'Ethiopie.

Therefore, behold! I am against you and against your river, so I will give the land of Egypt over to desolation and waste, and you will become a wasteland from the Migdol to Syene and the borders of Cush.

11 Il n'y passera nul pied d'homme, et nul pied de bête n'y passera, et il sera inhabité pendant quarante ans.

No man's foot will pass through it, and no wild animal's foot will pass through it. It will not be inhabited for forty years.

12 Je ferai du pays d'Egypte une désolation, au milieu des pays désolés, et ses villes, au milieu des villes ruinées, seront une désolation, durant quarante ans; je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations; et je les disséminerai en divers pays.

For I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of uninhabited lands, and its cities in the midst of wasted cities will become a desolation for forty years; then I will scatter Egypt among the nations, and I will disperse them though the lands.

13 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Au bout de quarante ans, je rassemblerai les Egyptiens, d'entre les peuples chez lesquels ils auront été dispersés;

For the Lord Yahweh says this: At the end of forty years I will gather Egypt from the peoples among whom they were scattered.

14 je ferai revenir les captifs d'Egypte, et je les ramènerai dans le pays de Pathros, dans le pays de leur origine, et ils y seront un humble royaume.

I will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to the region of Pathros, to the land of their origin. Then they will be a lowly kingdom there.

15 L'Egypte sera humble entre les royaumes, et elle ne s'élèvera plus au-dessus des nations; je réduirai leur nombre, afin qu'ils ne dominent pas sur les nations.

It will be the lowliest of the kingdoms, and it will not be lifted up any more among the nations. I will diminish them so they will no longer rule over nations.

16 Ils ne seront plus pour la maison d'Israël un objet de confiance; ils lui rappelleront l'iniquité qu'elle commettait en se tournant vers eux; et l'on saura que je suis le Seigneur Yahweh. "

The Egyptians will no longer be a reason for confidence for the house of Israel. Instead, they will be a reminder of the iniquity that Israel committed when they turned to Egypt for help. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.'”

17 La vingt-septième année, au premier mois, le premier du mois, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:

Then it came about in the twenty-seventh year on the first of the first month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

18 " Fils de l'homme, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a fait faire à son armée un rude service contre Tyr; toute tête est devenue chauve, toute épaule meurtrie; et il n'a retiré de Tyr aucun salaire, ni pour lui, ni pour son armée, pour le service qu'il a fait contre elle.

“Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon stationed his army to do hard work against Tyre. Every head was rubbed until it was made bald, and every shoulder was made raw. Yet he and his army received no payment from Tyre for the hard work that he carried out against it.

19 C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je donne à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, le pays d'Egypte; il en emportera les richesses; il dépouillera ce qu'il y a à dépouiller, il pillera son butin et prendra ses dépouilles: et ce sera un salaire pour son armée.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says this, 'Behold! I am giving the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and he will take away its wealth, plunder its possessions, and carry off all he finds there; that will be his army's wages.

20 Pour prix du travail qu'il a fait contre Tyr, je lui donne le pays d'Egypte, parce qu'ils ont travaillé pour moi — oracle du Seigneur Yahweh.

I have given him the land of Egypt as the wages for the work they did for me—this is the Lord Yahweh's declaration.

21 En ce jour-là, je ferai pousser une corne à la maison d'Israël, et je te donnerai d'ouvrir la bouche au milieu d'eux; et ils sauront que je suis Yahweh. "

On that day I will make a horn sprout up for the house of Israel, and I make you speak in their midst, so that they will know that I am Yahweh.'”
