1 Fils de Lévi: Gersom, Caath et Mérari.

The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

2 Fils de Caath: Amram, Isaar et Oziel.

And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Jizhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

3 Fils d'Amram: Aaron, Moïse et Marie. — Fils d'Aaron: Nadab, Abiu, Eléazar et Ithamar. —

And the children of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

4 Eléazar engendra Phinées; Phinées engendra Abisué;

Eleazar begot Phinehas; Phinehas begot Abishua,

5 Abisué engendra Bocci; Bocci engendra Ozi;

and Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi,

6 Ozi engendra Zaraïas; Zaraïas engendra Méraïoth;

and Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth;

7 Méraïoth engendra Amarias; Amarias engendra Achitob;

Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,

8 Achitob engendra Sadoc; Sadoc engendra Achimaas;

and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz,

9 Achimaas engendra Azarias; Azarias engendra Johanan;

and Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan,

10 Johanan engendra Azarias: c'est lui qui exerça le sacerdoce dans la maison que Salomon bâtit à Jérusalem;

and Johanan begot Azariah (he is it that exercised the priesthood in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem);

11 Azarias engendra Amarias; Amarias engendra Achitob;

and Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,

12 Achitob engendra Sadoc; Sadoc engendra Sellum;

and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum,

13 Sellum engendra Helcias; Helcias engendra Azarias;

and Shallum begot Hilkijah, and Hilkijah begot Azariah,

14 Azarias engendra Saraïas; Saraïas engendra Josédec.

and Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak,

15 Josédec partit pour l'exil quand Yahweh fil emmener en captivité Juda et Jérusalem par l'intermédiaire de Nabuchodonosor.

and Jehozadak went away, when Jehovah carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

16 Fils de Lévi: Gersom, Caath et Mérari. —

The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.

17 Voici les noms des fils de Gersom: Lobni et Séméï. —

And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.

18 Fils de Caath: Amram, Isaar, Hébron et Oziel. —

And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Jizhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.

19 Fils de Mérari: Moholi et Musi. Voici les familles de Lévi selon leurs pères:

The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of Levi according to their fathers.

20 De Gersom: Lobni, son fils; Jahath, son fils; Zamma, son fils;

Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,

21 Joah, son fils; Addo, son fils; Zara, son fils; Jethraï, son fils. —

Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeathrai his son.

22 Fils de Caath: Aminadab, son fils; Coré, son fils; Asir, son fils;

The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

23 Elcana, son fils; Abiasaph, son fils; Asir, son fils;

Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,

24 Thahath, son fils; Uriel, son fils; Ozias, son fils; Saül, son fils.

Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Saul his son.

25 Fils d'Elcana: Amasaï et Achimoth;

And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth.

26 Elcana, son fils; Sophaï, son fils; Nahath, son fils;

Elkanah, — the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,

27 Eliab, son fils; Jéroham, son fils; Elcana, son fils.

Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.

28 Fils de Samuel: le premier-né Vasséni, et Abia. —

And the sons of Samuel: the firstborn Vashni and Abijah.

29 Fils de Mérari: Moholi; Lobni, son fils; Séméï, son fils; Oza, son fils;

The sons of Merari: Mahli; Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzza his son,

30 Sammaa, son fils; Haggia, son fils; Asaïa, son fils.

Shimea his son, Haggijah his son, Asaiah his son.

31 Voici ceux que David établit pour diriger le chant dans la maison de Yahweh, depuis que l'arche eut un lieu de repos:

And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah after that the ark was in rest.

32 ils remplirent les fonctions de chantres devant la Demeure de la tente de réunion, jusqu'à ce que Salomon eût bâti la maison de Yahweh à Jérusalem, et ils se tenaient à leur service selon leur règlement. —

And they ministered before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting with singing, until Solomon had built the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem; and they attended to their office according to their order.

33 Voici ceux qui officiaient avec leurs fils: — D'entre les fils des Caathites: Héman, le chantre, fils de Joël, fils de Samuel,

And these are they that attended, and their sons: Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,

34 fils d'Elcana, fils de Jéroham, fils d'Eliel, fils de Thohu,

the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,

35 fils de Suph, fils d'Elcana, fils de Mahath, fils d'Amasaï,

the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,

36 fils d'Elcana, fils de Joël, fils d'Azarias, fils de Sophonias,

the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,

37 fils de Thahath, fils d'Asir, fils d'Abiasaph, fils de Coré,

the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

38 fils d'Isaar, fils de Caath, fils de Lévi, fils d'Israël.

the son of Jizhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.

39 — Son frère Asaph, qui se tenait à sa droite: Asaph, fils de Barachias, fils de Samaa,

And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand: Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,

40 fils de Michaël, fils de Basaïas, fils de Melchias,

the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,

41 fils d'Athanaï, fils de Zara, fils d'Adaïa,

the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,

42 fils d'Ethan, fils de Zamma, fils de Séméï,

the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,

43 fils de Jeth, fils de Gersom, fils de Lévi.

the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.

44 — Fils de Mérari, leurs frères, à la gauche: Ethan, fils de Cusi, fils d'Abdi, fils de Maloch,

And their brethren the sons of Merari were on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,

45 fils de Hasabias, fils d'Amasias, fils de Helcias,

the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkijah,

46 fils d'Amasaï, fils de Boni, fils de Somer,

the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,

47 fils de Moholi, fils de Musi, fils de Mérari, fils de Lévi.

the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

48 Leurs frères, les lévites, étaient chargés de tout le service du tabernacle de la maison de Yahweh.

And their brethren the Levites were given for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.

49 Mais Aaron et ses fils brûlaient les victimes sur l'autel des holocaustes et l'encens sur l'autel des parfums; ils avaient à remplir tout le ministère du saint des saints, et à faire l'expiation pour Israël, selon tout ce qu'avait ordonné Moïse, serviteur de Dieu.

And Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt-offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

50 Voici les fils d'Aaron: Eléazar, son fils; Phinées, son fils; Abisué, son fils;

And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,

51 Bocci, son fils; Ozi, son fils; Zaraïas, son fils;

Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,

52 Méraïoth, son fils; Amarias, son fils; Achitob, son fils;

Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,

53 Sadoc, son fils; Achimaas, son fils.

Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.

54 Voici leurs habitations, selon leurs enceintes, dans leurs territoires: — Aux fils d'Aaron, de la famille des Caathites, désignés les premiers par le sort,

And these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments, within their borders. For the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathites, for theirs was the lot;

55 on donna Hébron, dans le pays de Juda, et les pâturages qui l'entourent;

and they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and its suburbs round about it;

56 mais on donna le territoire de la ville et ses villages à Caleb, fils de Jéphoné.

but the fields of the city, and the hamlets thereof gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

57 On donna donc aux fils d'Aaron la ville de refuge Hébron, Lobna et ses pâturages,

And to the children of Aaron they gave the city of refuge, Hebron; and Libnah and its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,

58 Jéther, Esthémo et ses pâturages, Hélon et ses pâturages, Dabir et ses pâturages,

and Hilen and its suburbs, Debir and its suburbs,

59 Asan et ses pâturages, Bethsémès et ses pâturages;

and Ashan and its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh and its suburbs;

60 de la tribu de Benjamin, Gabée et ses pâturages, Almath et ses pâturages, Anathoth et ses pâturages. Total de leurs villes: treize villes, d'après leurs familles.

and, out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba and its suburbs, and Allemeth and its suburbs, and Anathoth and its suburbs: all their cities, thirteen cities, according to their families.

61 — Les autres fils de Caath eurent par le sort dix villes des familles de la tribu, de la demi-tribu de Manassé.

And to the children of Kohath that remained [were given] by lot out of the families of the tribe [of Ephraim and of the tribe of Dan and] of the half tribe, half Manasseh, ten cities.

62 Les fils de Gersom, d'après leurs familles, eurent treize villes de la tribu d'Issachar, de la tribu d'Aser, de la tribu de Nephthali et de la tribu de Manassé, en Basan.

And to the children of Gershom according to their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

63 Les fils de Mérari, d'après leurs familles, eurent par le sort douze villes de la tribu de Ruben, de la tribu de Gad et de la tribu de Zabulon.

To the children of Merari [were given] by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

64 Les enfants d'Israël donnèrent aux Lévites les villes et leurs pâturages.

And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs.

65 Ils donnèrent par le sort, de la tribu des enfants de Juda, de la tribu des enfants de Siméon et de la tribu des enfants de Benjamin, ces villes qu'ils désignèrent par leurs noms.

And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which were mentioned by name.

66 Pour les autres familles des fils de Caath, les villes qui leur échurent furent de la tribu d'Ephraïm.

And to the families of the children of Kohath who had the cities of their territory out of the tribe of Ephraim,

67 On leur donna: la ville de refuge Sichem et ses pâturages, dans la montagne d'Ephraïm, Gazer et ses pâturages,

they gave the city of refuge, Shechem and its suburbs in mount Ephraim; and Gezer and its suburbs,

68 Jecmaam et ses pâturages, Bethoron et ses pâturages,

and Jokmeam and its suburbs, and Beth-horon and its suburbs,

69 Hélon et ses pâturages, Geth-Remmon et ses pâturages;

and Ajalon and its suburbs, and Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs;

70 et de la demi-tribu de Manassé, Aner et ses pâturages, Balaam et ses pâturages: pour les familles des autres fils de Caath.

and out of the half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, and Bileam and its suburbs, — for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.

71 On donna aux fils de Gersom: de la famille de la demi-tribu de Manassé, Gaulon en Basan et ses pâturages, Astharoth et ses pâturages;

To the children of Gershom [were given] out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan and its suburbs, and Ashtaroth and its suburbs;

72 de la tribu d'Issachar, Cédès et ses pâturages, Dabéreth et ses pâturages,

and out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its suburbs, Dobrath and its suburbs,

73 Ramoth et ses pâturages, Anem et ses pâturages;

and Ramoth and its suburbs, and Anem and its suburbs;

74 de la tribu d'Aser, Masal et ses pâturages, Abdon et ses pâturages,

and out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal and its suburbs, and Abdon and its suburbs,

75 Hucac et ses pâturages, Rohob et ses pâturages;

and Hukok and its suburbs, and Rehob and its suburbs;

76 et de la tribu de Nephthali, Cédès en Galilée et ses pâturages, Hamon et ses pâturages, et Cariathaïm et ses pâturages.

and out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, and Hammon and its suburbs, and Kirjathaim and its suburbs.

77 On donna au reste des Lévites, aux fils de Mérari: de la tribu de Zabulon, Remmono et ses pâturages, Thabor et ses pâturages;

To the children of Merari that remained [were given] out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono and its suburbs, [and] Tabor and its suburbs;

78 de l'autre côté du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, à l'orient du Jourdain: de la tribu de Ruben, Bosor, au désert, et ses pâturages, Jassa et ses pâturages,

and on the other side of the Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness and its suburbs, and Jahzah and its suburbs,

79 Cadémoth et ses pâturages, Méphaat et ses pâturages;

and Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath and its suburbs;

80 et de la tribu de Gad, Ramoth en Galaad et ses pâturages, Manaïm, et ses pâturages,

and out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,

81 Hésebon et ses pâturages, Jézer et ses pâturages.

and Heshbon and its suburbs, and Jaazer and its suburbs.
