Psaumes 104
1 Bénis Yahvé, mon âme. Yahvé, mon Dieu, tu es très grand. Tu es vêtu d'honneur et de majesté.
For David himself. Bless the Lord, O my soul: O Lord my God, thou art exceedingly great. Thou hast put on praise and beauty:
2 Il se couvre de lumière comme d'un vêtement. Il étend les cieux comme un rideau.
And art clothed with light as with a garment. Who stretchest out the heaven like a pavilion:
3 Il pose les poutres de ses chambres dans les eaux. Il fait des nuages son char. Il marche sur les ailes du vent.
Who coverest the higher rooms thereof with water. Who makest the clouds thy chariot: who walkest upon the wings of the winds.
4 Il fait de ses messagers des vents, et ses serviteurs des flammes de feu.
Who makest thy angels spirits: and thy ministers a burning fire.
5 Il a posé les fondations de la terre, qu'il ne devrait pas être déplacé pour toujours.
Who hast founded the earth upon its own bases: it shall not be moved for ever and ever.
6 Tu l'as couvert de l'abîme comme d'un manteau. Les eaux s'élevaient au-dessus des montagnes.
The deep like a garment is its clothing: above the mountains shall the waters stand.
7 A ta réprimande, ils se sont enfuis. À la voix de votre tonnerre, ils se sont précipités.
At thy rebuke they shall flee: at the voice of thy thunder they shall fear.
8 Les montagnes se sont élevées, les vallées se sont effondrées, à la place que vous leur aviez assignée.
The mountains ascend, and the plains descend into the place which thou hast founded for them.
9 Tu as fixé une frontière qu'ils ne pourront pas franchir, qu'ils ne se retournent pas pour recouvrir la terre.
Thou hast set a bound which they shall not pass over; neither shall they return to cover the earth.
10 Il fait jaillir des sources dans les vallées. Ils courent entre les montagnes.
Thou sendest forth springs in the vales: between the midst of the hills the waters shall pass.
11 Ils donnent à boire à tous les animaux des champs. Les ânes sauvages étanchent leur soif.
All the beasts of the field shall drink: the wild asses shall expect in their thirst.
12 Les oiseaux du ciel font leur nid près d'eux. Ils chantent parmi les branches.
Over them the birds of the air shall dwell: from the midst of the rocks they shall give forth their voices.
13 Il arrose les montagnes depuis ses chambres. La terre est remplie du fruit de tes œuvres.
Thou waterest the hills from thy upper rooms: the earth shall be filled with the fruit of thy works:
14 Il fait pousser l'herbe pour le bétail, et des plantes que l'homme peut cultiver, pour qu'il produise de la nourriture à partir de la terre:
Bringing forth grass for cattle, and herb for the service of men. That thou mayst bring bread out of the earth:
15 le vin qui réjouit le cœur de l'homme, de l'huile pour faire briller son visage, et le pain qui fortifie le cœur de l'homme.
And that wine may cheer the heart of man. That he may make the face cheerful with oil: and that bread may strengthen man’s heart.
16 Les arbres de Yahvé sont bien arrosés, les cèdres du Liban, qu'il a plantés,
The trees of the field shall be filled, and the cedars of Libanus which he hath planted:
17 où les oiseaux font leurs nids. La cigogne a élu domicile dans les cyprès.
There the sparrows shall make their nests. The highest of them is the house of the heron.
18 Les hautes montagnes sont pour les boucs sauvages. Les rochers sont un refuge pour les blaireaux des rochers.
The high hills are a refuge for the harts, the rock for the irchins.
19 Il a établi la lune pour les saisons. Le soleil sait quand se coucher.
He hath made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
20 Tu fais des ténèbres, et c'est la nuit, dans lequel tous les animaux de la forêt rôdent.
Thou hast appointed darkness, and it is night: in it shall all the beasts of the woods go about:
21 Les jeunes lions rugissent après leur proie, et cherchent leur nourriture auprès de Dieu.
The young lions roaring after their prey, and seeking their meat from God.
22 Le soleil se lève, et ils s'enfuient, et se couchent dans leurs tanières.
The sun ariseth, and they are gathered together: and they shall lie down in their dens.
23 L'homme se rend à son travail, à son travail jusqu'au soir.
Man shall go forth to his work, and to his labour until the evening.
24 Yahvé, que tes œuvres sont nombreuses! Dans la sagesse, vous les avez tous créés. La terre est pleine de vos richesses.
How great are thy works, O Lord? thou hast made all things in wisdom: the earth is filled with thy riches.
25 Voilà la mer, grande et large, dans laquelle se trouvent d'innombrables êtres vivants, les petits et les grands animaux.
So is this great sea, which stretcheth wide its arms: there are creeping things without number: Creatures little and great.
26 C'est là que vont les navires, et leviathan, que vous avez formé pour y jouer.
There the ships shall go. This sea dragon which thou hast formed to play therein.
27 Ils t'attendent tous, afin que vous leur donniez leur nourriture en temps voulu.
All expect of thee that thou give them food in season.
28 Tu leur donnes, ils recueillent. Vous ouvrez votre main; ils sont satisfaits du bien.
What thou givest to them they shall gather up: when thou openest thy hand, they shall all be filled with good.
29 Vous cachez votre visage, ils sont troublés. Vous leur coupez le souffle, ils meurent et retournent à la poussière.
But if thou turnest away thy face, they shall be troubled: thou shalt take away their breath, and they shall fail, and shall return to their dust.
30 Tu envoies ton Esprit et ils sont créés. Vous renouvelez la surface du sol.
Thou shalt send forth thy spirit, and they shall be created: and thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
31 Que la gloire de Yahvé dure à jamais. Que Yahvé se réjouisse de ses œuvres.
May the glory of the Lord endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.
32 Il regarde la terre, et elle tremble. Il touche les montagnes, et elles fument.
He looketh upon the earth, and maketh it tremble: he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.
33 Je chanterai à Yahvé aussi longtemps que je vivrai. Je chanterai les louanges de mon Dieu tant que j'ai un être.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 Que ma méditation lui soit douce. Je me réjouirai en Yahvé.
Let my speech be acceptable to him: but I will take delight in the Lord.
35 Que les pécheurs disparaissent de la terre! Que les méchants ne soient plus. Bénis Yahvé, mon âme. Louez Yah!
Let sinners be consumed out of the earth, and the unjust, so that they be no more: O my soul, bless thou the Lord.
