2 Mooseksen 11
1 Sitten Herra sanoi Moosekselle: "Vielä yhden vitsauksen minä annan tulla faraolle ja Egyptiin; sen jälkeen hän päästää teidät täältä. Ja kun hän todella päästää teidät, niin hän ajamalla ajaa teidät täältä.
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Yet one plague more will I bring on Pharaoh, and on Egypt [Abode of slavery]; afterwards he will surely divorce you and let you go. When he casts you out, he will surely divorce you out altogether.
2 Puhu siis nyt kansalle, että he, jokainen mies ja jokainen vaimo, pyytävät lähimmäisiltänsä hopea-ja kultakaluja."
Speak now in the ears of the people, and let every man ask of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.”
3 Ja Herra antoi kansan päästä egyptiläisten suosioon. Myöskin Mooses oli hyvin arvossapidetty mies Egyptin maassa, sekä faraon palvelijain että kansan silmissä.
Adonai gave the people chen ·grace· in the sight of the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery]. Moreover the man Moses [Drawn out] was very great in the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.
4 Ja Mooses sanoi: "Näin sanoo Herra: Puoliyön aikana minä lähden kulkemaan kautta Egyptin maan.
Moses [Drawn out] said, “This is what Adonai says: ‘About midnight I will go out into the middle of Egypt [Abode of slavery],
5 Ja kaikki esikoiset Egyptin maassa kuolevat, valtaistuimellansa istuvan faraon esikoisesta käsikiveä vääntävän orjattaren esikoiseen asti, ynnä kaikki karjan esikoiset.
and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery] shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of livestock.
6 Ja koko Egyptin maassa on oleva kova valitus, jonka kaltaista ei ole ollut eikä koskaan tule.
There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], such as there has not been, nor shall be any more.
7 Mutta kenellekään israelilaiselle ei koirakaan ole muriseva, ei ihmiselle eikä eläimelle, tietääksesi, että Herra tekee erotuksen egyptiläisten ja Israelin välillä.
But against any of the children of Israel [God prevails] a dog won’t even bark or move its tongue, against man or animal; that you may know that Adonai makes a distinction between the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] and Israel [God prevails].
8 Ja kaikki nämä sinun palvelijasi tulevat minun luokseni, kumartavat minua ja sanovat: 'Mene pois, sinä ja kaikki kansa, joka sinua seuraa'. Ja sen jälkeen minä menen." Ja niin hän lähti faraon luota vihasta hehkuen.
All these servants of yours will come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, “Get out, with all the people who follow you;” and after that I will go out.’” He went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.
9 Mutta Herra sanoi Moosekselle: "Farao ei kuule teitä, että paljon minun ihmeitäni tapahtuisi Egyptin maassa".
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Pharaoh won’t sh'ma ·hear obey· you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery].”
10 Ja Mooses ja Aaron tekivät kaikki nämä ihmeet faraon edessä; mutta Herra paadutti faraon sydämen, niin ettei hän päästänyt israelilaisia maastansa.
Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer] did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and Adonai hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he didn’t let the children of Israel [God prevails] go out of his land.
