Psalmien 31
1 Davidin Psalmi edelläveisaajalle. Herra, sinuun minä uskallan, etten minä ikänä häpiään tulisi: vapahda minua sinun vanhurskautes kautta.
In you, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in your righteousness.
2 Kallista korvas minun puoleeni, auta minua äkisti: ole minulle vahva kallio ja linna minua auttamaan;
Bow down your ear to me; deliver me speedily: be you my strong rock, for an house of defense to save me.
3 Sillä sinä olet minun kallioni ja minun linnani, ettäs siis sinun nimes tähden minua taluttaisit ja veisit;
For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name’s sake lead me, and guide me.
4 Ettäs minun kirvottaisit verkosta, jonka he minun eteeni virittivät; sillä sinä olet minun väkevyyteni.
Pull me out of the net that they have laid privately for me: for you are my strength.
5 Sinun käsiis annan minä henkeni, sinä olet minun lunastanut, Herra, sinä totinen Jumala.
Into your hand I commit my spirit: you have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
6 Minä vihaan niitä, jotka pitävät väärää oppia; mutta minä uskallan Herraan.
I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.
7 Minä ihastun ja riemuitsen sinun hyvyytes tähden, ettäs katsot minun raadollisuuttani, ja tunnet minun sieluni tuskassa.
I will be glad and rejoice in your mercy: for you have considered my trouble; you have known my soul in adversities;
8 Ja et sinä sulje minua vihollisteni käsiin: sinä asetat minun avaraan paikkaan.
And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: you have set my feet in a large room.
9 Herra, ole minulle armollinen, sillä minä ahdistetaan; minun kasvoni ovat muuttuneet murheesta, niin myös minun sieluni ja vatsani.
Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: my eye is consumed with grief, yes, my soul and my belly.
10 Sillä minun elämäni on kulutettu murheesta, ja minun vuoteni huokauksesta: minun voimani on rauvennut pahain tekoin kautta, ja minun luuni ovat muserretut.
For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
11 Minä olen pilkaksi tullut kaikille vihamiehilleni ja kylällisilleni ylönpalttisesti, ja hämmästykseksi tuttavilleni: jotka minun ulkona näkevät, pakenevat minua.
I was a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and a fear to my acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
12 Minä olen sydämestä unhotettu niinkuin kuollut: minä olen niinkuin rikottu astia.
I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.
13 Sillä minä kuulen monen häväistyksen, että jokainen karttaa minua: he pitävät keskenänsä neuvoa minusta, ja tahtovat ottaa minun henkeni.
For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.
14 Mutta minä toivon sinuun, Herra, ja sanon: sinä olet minun Jumalani!
But I trusted in you, O LORD: I said, You are my God.
15 Minun aikani ovat sinun käsissäs: pelasta minua vihollisteni kädestä ja niistä, jotka minua vainoovat.
My times are in your hand: deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from them that persecute me.
16 Anna kasvos paistaa palvelias päälle: auta minua laupiutes kautta.
Make your face to shine on your servant: save me for your mercies’ sake.
17 Herra, älä minun anna häpiään tulla; sillä sinua minä avuksi huudan: jumalattomat tulkoon häpiään, vaijetkoon helvetissä. (Sheol h7585)
Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called on you: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave. (Sheol h7585)
18 Tulkoon mykäksi väärät suut, jotka puhuvat vanhurskasta vastaan kovasti ylpeydestä ja ylönkatseesta.
Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
19 Kuinka suuri on sinun hyvyytes, jonka panit tallelle niille, jotka sinua pelkäävät! ja jonka niille osoitat, jotka sinuun uskaltavat, ihmisten lasten edessä!
Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for them that fear you; which you have worked for them that trust in you before the sons of men!
20 Sinä kätket heitä tykönäs salaisesti jokaisen haastosta: sinä peität heitä majassas riiteleväisistä kielistä.
You shall hide them in the secret of your presence from the pride of man: you shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21 Herra olkoon kiitetty, että hän on minulle osoittanut ihmeellisen hyvyyden, vahvassa kaupungissa.
Blessed be the LORD: for he has showed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city.
22 Sillä minä sanoin pikaisuudessani: minä olen sinun silmäis edestä sysätty pois: kuitenkin kuulit sinä rukoukseni äänen, koska minä sinun tykös huusin.
For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before your eyes: nevertheless you heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to you.
23 Rakastakaat Herraa, kaikki hänen pyhänsä; Herra varjelee uskollisia ja runsaasti kostaa niille, jotka ylpeyttä harjoittelevat.
O love the LORD, all you his saints: for the LORD preserves the faithful, and plentifully rewards the proud doer.
24 Olkaat hyvässä turvassa, ja hän vahvistaa teidän sydämenne, kaikki jotka Herraa odotatte.
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD.
