Psalmien 25
1 Davidin Psalmi. Sinun tykös, Herra, ylennän minä sieluni.
A Psalm of David. To you, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul.
2 Minun Jumalani! sinuun minä turvaan, älä salli minua häväistä, ettei minun viholliseni iloitsisi minusta.
O my God, I have trusted in you: let me not be confounded, neither let mine enemies laugh me to scorn.
3 Sillä ei yksikään tule häpiään, joka sinua odottaa; mutta irralliset pilkkaajat saavat häpiän.
For none of them that wait on you shall in any wise be ashamed: let them be ashamed that transgress without cause.
4 Herra, osoita minulle sinun ties, ja opeta minulle sinun polkus.
Show me your ways, O Lord; and teach me your paths.
5 Johdata minua totuudessas, ja opeta minua; sillä sinä olet Jumala, joka minua autat, yli päivää minä odotan sinua.
Lead me in your truth, and teach me: for you are God my Saviour: and I have waited on you all the day.
6 Muista, Herra, laupiuttas ja hyvyyttäs, joka maailman alusta on ollut.
Remember your compassions, O Lord, and your mercies, for they are from everlasting.
7 Älä muista nuoruuteni syntejä ja ylitsekäymistäni; mutta muista minua sinun laupiutes jälkeen, sinun hyvyytes tähden, Herra!
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor [my sins] of ignorance: remember me according to your mercy, for your goodness' sake, O Lord.
8 Herra on hyvä ja vakaa, sentähden saattaa hän syntiset tielle.
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he instruct sinners in [the] way.
9 Hän johdattaa oikeudella raadollisen, ja opettaa siveille hänen tiensä.
The meek will he guide in judgment: the meek will he teach his ways.
10 Kaikki Herran tiet ovat hyvyys ja totuus niille, jotka hänen liittonsa ja todistuksensa pitävät.
All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth to them that seek his covenant and his testimonies.
11 Sinun nimes tähden, Herra, ole armollinen minun pahalle teolleni, joka suuri on.
For your name's sake, O Lord, do you also be merciful to my sin; for it is great.
12 Kuka on se mies, joka Herraa pelkää? sillä hän opettaa parhaan tien.
Who is the man that fears the Lord? he shall instruct him in the way which he has chosen.
13 Hänen sielunsa asuu hyvyydessä, ja hänen sikiänsä omistaa maan.
His soul shall dwell in prosperity; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 Herran salaisuus on niillä, jotka häntä pelkäävät, ja liittonsa ilmoittaa hän heille.
The Lord is the strength of them that fear him; and his covenant is to manifest [truth] to them.
15 Minun silmäni katsovat alati Herraa, sillä hän kirvoittaa minun jalkani verkosta.
Mine eyes are continually to the Lord; for he shall draw my feet out of the snare.
16 Käännä sinuas minun puoleeni, ja ole minulle armollinen; sillä minä olen yksinäinen ja raadollinen.
Look upon me, and have mercy upon me; for I am an only child and poor.
17 Minun sydämeni murheet ovat moninaiset: vie siis minua ulos tuskistani.
The afflictions of my heart have been multiplied; deliver me from my distresses.
18 Katsos minun vaivaisuuteni ja raadollisuuteni puoleen, ja anna kaikki minun syntini anteeksi.
Look upon mine affliction and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.
19 Katsos, kuinka monta vihollista minulla on? ja sulasta kateudesta he minua vihaavat.
Look upon mine enemies; for they have been multiplied; and they have hated me with unjust hatred.
20 Varjele minun sieluni ja vapahda minua, älä laske minua häpiään; sillä sinuun minä turvaan.
Keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I have hoped in you.
21 Vakuus ja oikeus varjelkoon minua; sillä minä odotan sinua.
The harmless and upright joined themselves to me: for I waited for you, O Lord.
22 Jumala, vapahda Israel kaikista tuskistansa.
Deliver Israel, O God, out of all his afflictions.
