Jeremian 29
1 Nämät ovat kirjoituksen sanat, jotka Jeremia propheta lähetti Jerusalemista jääneille vanhimmille, jotka olivat viedyt pois, ja papeille, ja prophetaille ja kaikelle kansalle, jotka Nebukadnetsar oli vienyt Jerusalemista Babeliin,
And these [are] words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem unto the remnant of the elders of the removal, and unto the priests, and unto the prophets, and unto all the people — whom Nebuchadnezzar removed from Jerusalem to Babylon,
2 Sittekuin kuningas Jekonia ja kuningatar, kamaripalveliat, ja Juudan ja Jerusalemin päämiehet sekä puuseppäin ja seppäin kanssa olivat pois Jerusalemista,
After the going forth of Jeconiah the king, and the mistress, and the officers, heads of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificer, and the smith, from Jerusalem —
3 Elasan Saphanin pojan ja Gemarjan Hilkian pojan kautta, jotka Juudan kuningas Zedekia lähetti Nebukadnetsarin, Babelin kuninkaan, tykö Babeliin; sanoen:
By the hand of Eleasah son of Shaphan, and Gemariah son of Hilkijah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon — to Babylon, saying,
4 Näin sanoo Herra Zebaot, Israelin Jumala, kaikille vangeille, jotka minä olen antanut viedä pois Jerusalemista Babeliin:
'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, to all the removal that I removed from Jerusalem to Babylon,
5 Rakentakaat huoneita, joissa te taidatte asua, istuttakaat puutarhoja, joissa te saisitte syödä hedelmiä.
Build ye houses, and abide; and plant ye gardens, and eat their fruit;
6 Naikaat emäntiä, ja siittäkäät poikia ja tyttäriä, ja antakaat pojillenne emäntiä, ja naittakaat tyttärenne miehille, että he synnyttäisivät poikia ja tyttäriä; enentäkäät itsiänne siellä, ettette vähenisi.
Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take for your sons wives, and your daughters give to husbands, and they bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and ye are not few;
7 Katsokaat sen kaupungin parasta, johonka minä olen teitä antanut vietää, ja rukoilkaat sen edestä Herraa; sillä kuin se menestyy, niin myös te menestytte.
And seek the peace of the city whither I have removed you, and pray for it unto Jehovah, for in its peace ye have peace.
8 Sillä näin sanoo Herra Zebaot, Israelin Jumala: älkäät antako prophetainne, jotka teidän tykönänne ovat, ja tietäjänne pettää teitä, ja älkäät totelko unianne, joita te unissanne näette.
'For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Let not your prophets who [are] in your midst, and your diviners, lift you up, nor hearken ye unto their dreams, that ye are causing [them] to dream;
9 Sillä he ennustavat teille valhetta minun nimeeni: en minä ole heitä lähettänyt, sanoo Herra.
For with falsehood they are prophesying to you in My name; I have not sent them, an affirmation of Jehovah.
10 Sillä näin sanoo Herra: kuin Babelissa seitsemänkymmentä vuotta ovat kuluneet, niin minä tahdon etsiä teitä, ja herättää armollisen sanani teidän päällenne, niin että minä tahdon antaa teidän tulla tähän paikkaan jällensä.
'For thus said Jehovah, Surely at the fulness of Babylon — seventy years — I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place.
11 Sillä minä kyllä tiedän, mitkä teistä minun ajatukseni ovat, sanoo Herra: rauhan ja ei murheen ajatukset; että minä olen antava teille sen lopun, jonka te toivotte.
For I have known the thoughts that I am thinking towards you — an affirmation of Jehovah; thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give to you posterity and hope.
12 Ja teidän pitää minua rukoileman, käymän ja anoman minulta, ja minä kuulen teitä.
'And ye have called Me, and have gone, and have prayed unto Me, and I have hearkened unto you,
13 Teidän pitää etsimän minua ja löytämän minun: sillä jos te etsitte minua kaikesta sydämestänne,
And ye have sought Me, and have found, for ye seek Me with all your heart;
14 Niin minä tahdon antaa itseni löytää teiltä, sanoo Herra, ja kääntää teidän vankiutenne, ja koota teidän kaikesta kansasta ja kaikista paikoista, joihin minä teidät ajanut olin, sanoo Herra; ja tahdon antaa teidän tulla jällensä tähän paikkaan, josta minä olen antanut viedä teitä pois.
And I have been found of you — an affirmation of Jehovah; and I have turned back [to] your captivity, and have gathered you out of all the nations, and out of all the places whither I have driven you — an affirmation of Jehovah — and I have brought you back unto the place whence I removed you.
15 Mutta jos te ajattelette: Herra on herättänyt meille prophetaita Babelissa;
'Because ye have said, Jehovah hath raised up to us prophets in Babylon,
16 Niin sanoo Herra näin siitä kuninkaasta, joka istuu Davidin istuimella, ja kaikesta kansasta, joka tässä kaupungissa asuu, teidän veljistänne, jotka ei teidän kanssanne lähteneet vankiuteen,
Surely thus said Jehovah concerning the king who is sitting on the throne of David, and concerning all the people that is dwelling in this city, your brethren who went not forth with you in the removal;
17 Näin tosin sanoo Herra Zebaot: katso, minä lähetän heidän sekaansa miekan, nälän ja ruton, ja teen heille niinkuin pahoille fikunoille, joita ei syödä taideta, että ne niin pahat ovat.
Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Lo, I am sending among them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I have given them up as figs that [are] vile, that are not eaten for badness.
18 Ja vainoon heitä miekalla, nälällä ja rutolla, ja panen heidät kulkiaksi kaikissa valtakunnissa maan päällä, että heidän pitää tuleman kiroukseksi, ihmeeksi, häväistykseksi ja pilkaksi kaikkein kansain seassa, kuhunka minä heidät ajava olen;
And I have pursued after them with sword, with famine, and with pestilence, and have given them for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth, for a curse and for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for a reproach among all the nations whither I have driven them,
19 Ettei he kuulleet minun sanojani, sanoo Herra, joita minä varhain minun palveliaini prophetain kanssa heille lähettänyt olen; mutta ette tahtoneet kuulla, sanoo Herra.
Because that they have not hearkened unto My words — an affirmation of Jehovah — that I sent unto them by My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, and ye hearkened not — an affirmation of Jehovah.
20 Mutta te kaikki, jotka vangittuina olette viedyt pois, jotka minä olen Jerusalemista antanut mennä Babeliin, kuulkaat Herran sanaa:
'And ye, hear ye a word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity that I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon,
21 Näin sanoo Herra Zebaot, Israelin Jumala, Ahabia Kolajan poikaa ja Zedekiaa Maasejan poikaa vastaan, jotka teille minun nimeeni valhetta ennustavat: katso, minä annan heidät Nebukadnetsarin, Babelin kuninkaan, käsiin, hänen pitää antaman heitä lyödä teidän silmäinne edessä.
Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, concerning Ahab son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying to you in My name falsehood: Lo, I am giving them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he hath smitten them before your eyes,
22 Ja heitä pitää sadateltaman kaikkein Juudan vankein seassa, jotka ovat Babelissa, ja sanottaman: Herra tehköön sinulle niinkuin Zedekialle ja Ahabille, jotka Babelin kuningas antoi tulessa paistaa:
And taken from them hath been a reviling by all the removed of Judah that [are] in Babylon, saying, Jehovah doth set thee as Zedekiah, and as Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted with fire;
23 Että he tekivät hulluuden Israelissa, ja makasivat muiden emäntiä, ja saarnasivat valhetta minun nimeeni, jota en minä ollut heille käskenyt. Ja minä sen tiedän ja todistan, sanoo Herra.
Because that they have done folly in Israel, and commit adultery with the wives of their neighbours, and speak a word in My name falsely that I have not commanded them, and I [am] He who knoweth and a witness — an affirmation of Jehovah.
24 Ja Semajaa vastaan Nehalamista pitää sinun puhuman, sanoen:
'And unto Shemaiah the Nehelamite thou dost speak, saying,
25 Näin puhuu Herra Zebaot, Israelin Jumala, sanoen: että sinä sinun nimelläs olet lähettänyt kirjoituksen kaikelle kansalle, joka on Jerusalemissa, ja papille Zephanialle Maasejan pojalle, ja kaikille papeille, ja sanonut:
Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, saying, Because that thou hast sent in thy name letters unto all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, and unto Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and unto all the priests, saying,
26 Herra on asettanut sinun papiksi, papin Jehojadan siaan, olemaan esimiehet Herran huoneessa, ylitse kaikkein mielipuolten ennustajain, panemaan heitä vankiuteen ja jalkapuuhun.
Jehovah hath made thee priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, for there being inspectors of the house of Jehovah, for every one mad and making himself a prophet, and thou hast put him unto the torture and unto the stocks.
27 Miksi et sinä siis nuhtele Jeremiaa Anatotista, joka teille ennustaa?
And now, why hast thou not pushed against Jeremiah of Anathoth, who is making himself a prophet to you?
28 Sillä hän on lähettänyt meidän tykömme Babeliin, ja antanut meille sanoa: vielä nyt pitää oleman aikaa, rakentakaat huoneita ja asukaat niissä, ja istuttakaat puutarhoja, syödäksenne niistä hedelmiä.
Because that he hath sent unto us to Babylon, saying, It [is] long, build ye houses, and abide; and plant ye gardens, and eat their fruit.'
29 Ja kuin pappi Zephania oli lukenut sen kirjoituksen Jeremian prophetan kuullen,
And Zephaniah the priest readeth this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
30 Niin tapahtui Herran sana Jeremialle ja sanoi:
And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah, saying,
31 Lähetä kaikkein vankein tykö ja anna heille sanoa: näin sanoo Herra Semajaa vastaan Nehalamista: että Semaja ennustaa teille, ja en kuitenkaan minä ole häntä lähettänyt, ja on tehnyt, että te luotatte valheesen,
'Send unto all the removal, saying, Thus said Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah prophesied to you, and I — I have not sent him, and he doth cause you to trust on falsehood,
32 Sentähden sanoo Herra näin: katso, minä tahdon kostaa Semajalle Nehalamista ja hänen siemenellensä, niin ettei yhdenkään pidä hänen omistansa pysymän tämän kansan seassa, eikä pidä näkemän sitä hyvää, jonka minä tahdon tehdä kansalleni, sanoo Herra; sillä hän on puheellansa kääntänyt heidät pois Herrasta.
Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am seeing after Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and after his seed, he hath none dwelling in the midst of this people, nor doth he look on the good that I am doing to My people — an affirmation of Jehovah — for apostasy he hath spoken against Jehovah.'
