Jesajan 52
1 Nouse, nouse, Zion, pue väkevyytes päälles, kaunista sinuas jalosti, sinä pyhä kaupunki Jerusalem; sillä ei tästedes yksikään ympärileikkaamatoin eikä saastainen pidä sinussa hallitseman.
Awake, awake, Sion; put on your strength, O Sion; and o you put on your glory, Jerusalem the holy city: there shall no more pass through you, the uncircumcised and unclean.
2 Puhdista itses tomusta, nouse ja istu Jerusalem; päästä sinuas kahleista, sinä vangittu Zionin tytär.
Shake off the dust and arise; sit down, Jerusalem: put off the band of your neck, captive daughter of Sion.
3 Sillä näin sanoo Herra: te olette tyhjään myydyt, ja ilman rahaa te lunastetaan.
For thus says the Lord, You have been sold for nothing; and you shall not be ransomed with silver.
4 Sillä näin sanoo Herra, Herra: minun kansani meni ensin alas Egyptiin, olemaan siellä vieraana; ja Assur on heille väkivaltaa tehnyt ilman syytä.
Thus says the Lord, My people went down before to Egypt to sojourn there; and were carried away forcibly to the Assyrians.
5 Vaan mitä nyt minulle tämän edestä tehdään? sanoo Herra; sillä minun kansani ilman syytä viedään pois? että ne, jotka heitä hallitsevat, saattavat heidät itkemään, sanoo Herra, ja minun nimeäni pilkataan päivä päivältä.
And now why are you here? Thus says the Lord, Because my people was taken for nothing, wonder you and howl. Thus says the Lord, On account of you my name is continually blasphemed among the Gentiles.
6 Sentähden pitää minun kansani sinä päivänä minun nimeni tunteman, että minä itse olen se, joka puhun, katso, minä se olen.
Therefore shall my people know my name in that day, for I am he that speaks: I am present,
7 O kuinka suloiset ovat evankeliumin saarnaajain jalat vuorilla, jotka rauhaa julistavat, jotka hyvää saarnaavat, autuuden ilmoittavat, jotka Zionille sanovat: sinun Jumalas on kuningas.
as a season of beauty upon the mountains, as the feet of one preaching glad tidings of peace, as one preaching good news: for I will publish your salvation, saying, O Sion, your God shall reign.
8 Sinun vartias huutavat korkiasti ja iloitsevat ynnä, sillä se nähdään ilmeisesti, koska Herra kääntää Zionin.
For the voice of them that guard you is exalted, and with the voice together they shall rejoice: for eyes shall look to eyes, when the Lord shall have mercy upon Sion.
9 Iloitkaat ja riemuitkaat ynnä, te Jerusalemin autiot; sillä Herra on kansaansa lohduttanut, ja Jerusalemin päästänyt.
Let the waste places of Jerusalem break forth [in] joy together, because the Lord has had mercy upon her, and has delivered Jerusalem.
10 Herra on ilmoittanut pyhän käsivartensa kaikkein pakanain silmäin edessä, niin että kaikki maailman ääret näkevät meidän Jumalamme autuuden.
And the Lord shall reveal his holy arm in the sight of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation that [comes] from our God.
11 Paetkaat, paetkaat, lähtekäät sieltä, ja älkäät mihinkään saastaiseen sattuko; menkäät ulos heidän tyköänsä, puhdistakaat teitänne, te jotka Herran kalua kannatte.
Depart you, depart, go out from thence, and touch not the unclean thing; go you out from the midst of her; separate yourselves, you that bear the vessels of the Lord.
12 Sillä ei teidän pidä lähtemän nopiasti, eli vaeltaman pakenemisella; sillä Herra on lähtevä teidän edellänne, ja Israelin Jumala on kokoova teitä.
For you shall not go forth with tumult, neither go by flight: for the Lord shall go first in advance of you; and the God of Israel shall be he that brings up your rear.
13 Katso, minun palveliani tekee toimellisesti: hän korotetaan, nostetaan ylös, ja tulee sangen korkiaksi.
Behold, my servant shall understand, and be exalted, and glorified exceedingly.
14 Niin että moni sinun ylitses hämmästyy, että hänen muotonsa on rumempi muita ihmisiä, ja hänen hahmonsa huonompi kuin ihmisten lasten.
As many shall be amazed at you, so shall your face be without glory from men, and your glory [shall not be honored] by the sons of men.
15 Mutta niin on hän monta pakanaa priiskottava, että myös kuningasten täytyy suunsa hänen edessänsä tukita; sillä joille ei mitään hänestä ilmoitettu ollut, nekin hänen ilolla näkevät, ja jota ei he kuulleet ole, sen ne ymmärtävät.
Thus shall many nations wonder at him; and kings shall keep their mouths shut: for they to whom no report was brought concerning him, shall see; and they who have not heard, shall consider.
