1 Kiam por David alproksimiĝis la tempo por morti, li testamentis al sia filo Salomono jene:
Then the dayes of Dauid drewe neere that he should die, and hee charged Salomon his sonne, saying,
2 Mi foriras la vojon de la tuta mondo; sed vi tenu vin forte kaj estu viro.
I go the way of all the earth: be strong therefore, and shew thy selfe a man,
3 Kaj observu la ordonojn de la Eternulo, via Dio, irante laŭ Liaj vojoj, plenumante Liajn leĝojn, ordonojn, decidojn, kaj regulojn, kiel estas skribite en la instruo de Moseo, por ke vi estu saĝa en ĉio, kion vi faros, kaj kien ajn vi vin turnos;
And take heede to the charge of the Lord thy God, to walke in his wayes, and keepe his statutes, and his commandements, and his iudgements, and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and in euery thing whereunto thou turnest thee,
4 por ke la Eternulo plenumu Sian vorton, kiun Li diris pri mi, parolante: Se viaj filoj observos siajn vojojn, irante antaŭ Mi en vero per sia tuta koro kaj per sia tuta animo, tiam ne mankos ĉe vi viro sur la trono de Izrael.
That the Lord may confirme his worde which hee spake vnto me, saying, If thy sonnes take heede to their way, that they walke before me in trueth, with all their hearts, and with all their soules, thou shalt not (sayd he) want one of thy posteritie vpon the throne of Israel.
5 Ankaŭ vi scias, kion faris al mi Joab, filo de Ceruja, kion li faris al la du militestroj de Izrael, al Abner, filo de Ner, kaj al Amasa, filo de Jeter, ke li mortigis ilin kaj verŝis militan sangon en tempo de paco kaj makulis per milita sango sian zonon sur siaj lumboj kaj siajn ŝuojn sur siaj piedoj.
Thou knowest also what Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captaines of the hostes of Israel, vnto Abner the sonne of Ner, and vnto Amasa the sonne of Iether: whome he slewe, and shed blood of battell in peace, and put the blood of warre vpon his girdle that was about his loynes, and in his shooes that were on his feete.
Doe therefore according to thy wisdome, and let thou not his hoare head go downe to the graue in peace. (Sheol h7585)
7 Sed al la filoj de Barzilaj, la Gileadano, faru favoron, kaj ili estu inter la manĝantoj ĉe via tablo; ĉar ili tiel alproksimiĝis al mi, kiam mi forkuris de via frato Abŝalom.
But shew kindnes vnto the sonnes of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among them that eate at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled from Absalom thy brother.
8 Kaj jen ĉe vi estas Ŝimei, filo de Gera, Benjamenido el Baĥurim; li malbenis min per kruela malbeno, kiam mi iris al Maĥanaim; sed li venis al mi renkonte ĉe Jordan, kaj mi ĵuris al li per la Eternulo, dirante: Mi ne mortigos vin per glavo.
And beholde, with thee is Shimei the sonne of Gera, the sonne of Iemini, of Bahurim, which cursed mee with an horrible curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim: but hee came downe to meete me at Iorden, and I sware to him by the Lord, saying, I will not slay thee with the sword.
9 Sed nun ne lasu lin senpuna, ĉar vi estas homo saĝa, kaj vi scias, kion vi devas fari al li, por malsuprenigi liajn grizajn harojn en sango en Ŝeolon. (Sheol h7585)
But thou shalt not count him innocent: for thou art a wise man, and knowest what thou oughtest to doe vnto him: therefore thou shalt cause his hoare head to goe downe to the graue with blood. (Sheol h7585)
10 Kaj David ekdormis kun siaj patroj, kaj oni lin enterigis en la urbo de David.
So Dauid slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid.
11 La tempo, kiun David reĝis super Izrael, estis kvardek jaroj: en Ĥebron li reĝis sep jarojn, kaj en Jerusalem li reĝis tridek tri jarojn.
And the dayes which Dauid reigned vpon Israel, were fourtie yeeres: seuen yeeres reigned he in Hebron, and thirtie and three yeeres reigned he in Ierusalem.
12 Kaj Salomono sidis sur la trono de sia patro David, kaj lia reĝado tre fortikiĝis.
Then sate Salomon vpon the throne of Dauid his father, and his kingdome was stablished mightily.
13 Adonija, filo de Ĥagit, venis al Bat-Ŝeba, patrino de Salomono. Ŝi diris: Ĉu kun paco vi venas? Kaj li respondis: Kun paco.
And Adonijah the sonne of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Salomon: and she saide, Commest thou peaceably? And hee said, Yea.
14 Kaj li diris: Mi havas aferon al vi. Ŝi respondis: Parolu.
He said moreouer, I haue a sute vnto thee. And she sayd, Say on.
15 Kaj li diris: Vi scias, ke la regno apartenis al mi, kaj al mi ĉiuj Izraelidoj turnis sian vizaĝon, ke mi reĝu; sed la reĝado deturniĝis kaj transiris al mia frato, ĉar de la Eternulo ĝi estis destinita al li.
Then he said, Thou knowest that the kingdome was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reigne: howbeit the kingdome is turned away, and is my brothers: for it came to him by the Lord.
16 Nun unu peton mi petas de vi, ne rifuzu al mi. Kaj ŝi diris al li: Parolu.
Nowe therefore I aske thee one request, refuse me not. And she said vnto him, Say on.
17 Kaj li diris: Diru, mi petas, al la reĝo Salomono (ĉar li ne rifuzos al vi), ke li donu al mi la Ŝunemaninon Abiŝag kiel edzinon.
And he sayd, Speake, I pray thee, vnto Salomon ye King, (for he will not say thee nay) that he giue me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.
18 Kaj Bat-Ŝeba diris: Bone, mi parolos pri vi kun la reĝo.
And Bath-sheba sayd, Well, I will speake for thee vnto the King.
19 Kaj Bat-Ŝeba venis al la reĝo Salomono, por paroli al li pri Adonija. La reĝo leviĝis renkonte al ŝi kaj adorkliniĝis antaŭ ŝi kaj sidiĝis sur sia trono. Kaj oni starigis tronon por la patrino de la reĝo, kaj ŝi sidiĝis dekstre de li.
Bath-sheba therefore went vnto King Salomon, to speake vnto him for Adonijah: and the King rose to meete her, and bowed himselfe vnto her, and sate downe on his throne: and he caused a seate to be set for the Kings mother, and she sate at his right hand.
20 Kaj ŝi diris: Unu malgrandan peton mi petos de vi, ne rifuzu al mi. Kaj la reĝo diris al ŝi: Petu, mia patrino, ĉar mi ne rifuzos al vi.
Then she sayd, I desire a small request of thee, say me not nay. Then the King sayde vnto her, Aske on, my mother: for I will not say thee nay.
21 Kaj ŝi diris: La Ŝunemanino Abiŝag estu donata kiel edzino al via frato Adonija.
She sayd then, Let Abishag the Shunammite be giuen to Adonijah thy brother to wife.
22 Tiam respondis la reĝo Salomono kaj diris al sia patrino: Kial vi petas la Ŝunemaninon Abiŝag por Adonija? petu por li ankaŭ la reĝecon, ĉar li estas mia pli aĝa frato — por li, kaj por la pastro Ebjatar, kaj por Joab, filo de Ceruja.
But King Salomon answered and sayd vnto his mother, And why doest thou aske Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? aske for him the kingdome also: for he is mine elder brother, and hath for him both Abiathar the Priest, and Ioab the sonne of Zeruiah.
23 Kaj la reĝo Salomono ĵuris per la Eternulo, dirante: Tion kaj pli faru al mi la Eternulo; kontraŭ sia vivo Adonija diris tiujn vortojn.
Then King Salomon sware by the Lord, saying, God doe so to me and more also, if Adoniiah hath not spoken this worde against his owne life.
24 Nun, kiel vivas la Eternulo, kiu min konfirmis kaj min sidigis sur la trono de mia patro David kaj kiu aranĝis al mi domon laŭ Sia promeso, hodiaŭ Adonija estos mortigita.
Now therefore as ye Lord liueth, who hath established me, and set me on the throne of Dauid my father, who also hath made me an house, as he promised, Adoniiah shall surely die this day.
25 Kaj la reĝo Salomono sendis Benajan, filon de Jehojada, kaj ĉi tiu frapis lin, kaj li mortis.
And King Salomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, and hee smote him that he dyed.
26 Kaj al la pastro Ebjatar la reĝo diris: Iru en Anatoton, sur vian kampon; vi meritas la morton, sed mi nun ne mortigos vin, ĉar vi portis la keston de la Sinjoro, la Eternulo, antaŭ mia patro David, kaj ĉar vi suferis ĉion, kion suferis mia patro.
Then the King sayd vnto Abiathar the Priest, Go to Anathoth vnto thine owne fieldes: for thou art worthy of death: but I will not this day kill thee, because thou barest the Arke of the Lord God before Dauid my father, and because thou hast suffered in all, wherein my father hath bene afflicted.
27 Kaj Salomono forigis Ebjataron, ke li ne estu plu pastro al la Eternulo; por ke plenumiĝu la vorto de la Eternulo, kiun Li diris pri la domo de Eli en Ŝilo.
So Salomon cast out Abiathar from being Priest vnto the Lord, that he might fulfill the wordes of the Lord, which he spake against the house of Eli in Shiloh.
28 La famo pri tio atingis Joabon (ĉar Joab aliĝis al Adonija, kvankam al Abŝalom li ne aliĝis); kaj Joab forkuris en la tabernaklon de la Eternulo kaj ekkaptis la kornojn de la altaro.
Then tidings came to Ioab: (for Ioab had turned after Adoniiah, but he turned not after Absalom) and Ioab fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and caught hold on the hornes of the altar.
29 Oni raportis al la reĝo Salomono, ke Joab forkuris en la tabernaklon de la Eternulo kaj estas nun ĉe la altaro. Tiam Salomono sendis Benajan, filon de Jehojada, dirante al li: Iru, mortigu lin.
And it was tolde king Salomon, that Ioab was fled vnto the Tabernacle of the Lord, and beholde, he is by the altar. Then Salomon sent Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada, saying, Goe, fall vpon him.
30 Benaja venis en la tabernaklon de la Eternulo, kaj diris al li: Tiele diras la reĝo: Eliru! Sed tiu respondis: Ne, ĉi tie mi mortu. Kaj Benaja raportis tion al la reĝo, dirante: Tiele diris Joab, kaj tiele li respondis al mi.
And Benaiah came to the Tabernacle of the Lord, and sayd vnto him, Thus sayth the King, Come out. And he sayde, Nay, but I will die here. Then Benaiah brought the King worde againe, saying, Thus sayd Ioab, and thus he answered me.
31 Tiam la reĝo diris al li: Faru, kiel li diris, mortigu lin kaj enterigu lin; por ke vi forigu de mi kaj de la domo de mia patro la senkulpan sangon, kiun Joab verŝis.
And the King sayde vnto him, Doe as he hath sayd, and smite him, and bury him, that thou mayest take away the blood, which Ioab shed causelesse, from me and from the house of my father.
32 La Eternulo refaligu lian sangon sur lian kapon, pro tio, ke li mortigis du virojn, kiuj estis pli virtaj kaj pli bonaj ol li, kaj li mortigis ilin per glavo, dum mia patro David tion ne sciis: Abneron, filon de Ner, militestron de Izrael, kaj Amasan, filon de Jeter, militestron de Jehuda.
And the Lord shall bring his blood vpon his owne head: for he smote two men more righteous and better then he, and slew them with the sword, and my father Dauid knew not: to wit, Abner the sonne of Ner, captaine of the hoste of Israel, and Amasa the sonne of Iether captaine of the hoste of Iudah.
33 Ilia sango falu sur la kapon de Joab kaj sur la kapon de lia idaro por eterne; sed al David kaj al lia idaro kaj al lia domo kaj al lia trono estu paco por eterne de la Eternulo.
Their blood shall therefore returne vpon the head of Ioab, and on the head of his seede for euer: but vpon Dauid, and vpon his seede, and vpon his house, and vpon his throne shall there be peace for euer from the Lord.
34 Tiam Benaja, filo de Jehojada, iris kaj frapis lin kaj mortigis lin, kaj oni enterigis lin en lia domo en la dezerto.
So Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada went vp, and smote him, and slewe him, and he was buryed in his owne house in the wildernesse.
35 Kaj la reĝo starigis Benajan, filon de Jehojada, anstataŭ li kiel militestron, kaj la pastron Cadok la reĝo starigis anstataŭ Ebjatar.
And the King put Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada in his roume ouer the hoste: and the King set Zadok the Priest in the roume of Abiathar.
36 Kaj la reĝo sendis por voki Ŝimein, kaj li diris al li: Konstruu al vi domon en Jerusalem, kaj loĝu tie kaj nenien eliru el tie;
Afterwarde the King sent, and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Buylde thee an house in Ierusalem, and dwell there, and depart not thence any whither.
37 se iun tagon vi eliros kaj transiros la torenton Kidron, tiam sciu, ke vi nepre mortos; via sango estos sur via kapo.
For that day that thou goest out, and passest ouer the riuer of Kidron, knowe assuredly, that thou shalt dye the death: thy blood shall be vpon thine owne head.
38 Kaj Ŝimei diris al la reĝo: Bone; kiel diris mia sinjoro la reĝo, tiel via servanto faros. Kaj Ŝimei loĝis en Jerusalem multe da tempo.
And Shimei sayd vnto the King, The thing is good: as my lord the King hath sayd, so wil thy seruant doe. So Shimei dwelt in Ierusalem many dayes.
39 Sed post paso de tri jaroj forkuris du sklavoj de Ŝimei al Aĥiŝ, filo de Maaĥa, reĝo de Gat. Kaj oni sciigis al Ŝimei, dirante: Jen viaj sklavoj estas en Gat.
And after three yeres two of the seruants of Shimei fled away vnto Achish sonne of Maachah King of Gath: and they tolde Shimei, saying, Behold, thy seruants be in Gath.
40 Tiam Ŝimei leviĝis, kaj selis sian azenon kaj iris en Gaton al Aĥiŝ, por serĉi siajn sklavojn. Kaj Ŝimei iris, kaj revenigis siajn sklavojn el Gat.
And Shimei arose, and sadled his asse, and went to Gath to Achish, to seeke his seruantes: and Shimei went, and brought his seruants from Gath.
41 Kaj oni raportis al Salomono, ke Ŝimei foriris el Jerusalem en Gaton kaj revenis.
And it was tolde Salomon, that Shimei had gone from Ierusalem to Gath, and was come againe.
42 Tiam la reĝo sendis, kaj vokigis Ŝimein, kaj diris al li: Mi ĵurligis ja vin per la Eternulo kaj avertis vin, dirante, ke se iun tagon vi ien ajn foriros, tiam sciu, ke vi nepre mortos; kaj vi diris al mi: Bona estas tio, kion mi aŭdis.
And the King sent and called Shimei, and sayde vnto him, Did I not make thee to sweare by the Lord, and protested vnto thee, saying, That day that thou goest out, and walkest any whither, knowe assuredly that thou shalt dye the death? And thou saydest vnto mee, The thing is good, that I haue heard.
43 Kial do vi ne observis la ĵuron per la Eternulo, kaj la ordonon, kiun mi faris al vi?
Why then hast thou not kept the othe of the Lord, and the commandement wherewith I charged thee?
44 Kaj la reĝo diris al Ŝimei: Vi scias la tutan malbonon, kiun via koro scias kaj kiun vi faris al mia patro David; la Eternulo repagu vian malbonon sur via kapo.
The King sayde also to Shimei, Thou knowest all the wickednes whereunto thine heart is priuie, that thou diddest to Dauid my father: the Lord therefore shall bring thy wickednesse vpon thine owne head.
45 Sed la reĝo Salomono estu benata, kaj la trono de David staru forte antaŭ la Eternulo eterne.
And let King Salomon be blessed, and the throne of Dauid stablished before the Lord for euer.
46 Kaj la reĝo ordonis al Benaja, filo de Jehojada, kaj ĉi tiu iris kaj frapis tiun, kaj tiu mortis. Kaj la regno fortikiĝis en la manoj de Salomono.
So the King comanded Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada: who went out and smote him that he dyed. And the kingdome was established in the hand of Salomon.
