Ruth 2
1 And Naomi hath an acquaintance of her husband's, a man mighty in wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name [is] Boaz.
Naemi aber besaß einen Verwandten ihres Mannes, einen recht vermögenden Mann aus dem Geschlecht Elimelechs, Namens Boas.
2 And Ruth the Moabitess saith unto Naomi, 'Let me go, I pray thee, into the field, and I gather among the ears of corn after him in whose eyes I find grace;' and she saith to her, 'Go, my daughter.'
Nun sagte einmal die Moabiterin Ruth zu Naemi: Ich will doch aufs Feld gehen und Ähren lesen hinter dem her, der mir wohl will! Sie erwiderte ihr: Geh, meine Tochter!
3 And she goeth and cometh and gathereth in a field after the reapers, and her chance happeneth — the portion of the field is Boaz's who [is] of the family of Elimelech.
Da ging sie, kam hin und las auf dem Felde auf hinter den Schnittern her; dabei traf es sich zufällig für sie, daß das Stück Feld dem Boas gehörte, der aus Elimelechs Geschlecht stammte.
4 And lo, Boaz hath come from Beth-Lehem, and saith to the reapers, 'Jehovah [is] with you;' and they say to him, 'Jehovah doth bless thee.'
Da kam eben Boas aus Bethlehem heraus und redete die Schnitter an: Jahwe sei mit euch! Sie erwiderten ihm: Jahwe segne dich!
5 And Boaz saith to his young man who is set over the reapers, 'Whose [is] this young person?'
Da fragte Boas seinen Diener, der über die Schnitter gesetzt war: Wem gehört das Mädchen da?
6 And the young man who is set over the reapers answereth and saith, 'A young woman — Moabitess — she [is], who came back with Naomi from the fields of Moab,
Der Diener, der über die Schnitter gesetzt war, antwortete und sprach: Es ist ein Moabitermädchen, die, welche mit Naemi aus dem Gebiete Moabs zurückgekommen ist.
7 and she saith, Let me glean, I pray thee — and I have gathered among the sheaves after the reapers; and she cometh and remaineth since the morning and till now; she sat in the house a little.
Sie fragte: Dürfte ich nicht auflesen und unter den Garben sammeln hinter den Schnittern her? und ist dann gekommen und hat ausgehalten seitdem der Morgen anbrach bis jetzt und hat sich nicht ein Weilchen Ruhe gegönnt.
8 And Boaz saith unto Ruth, 'Hast thou not heard, my daughter? go not to glean in another field, and also, pass not over from this, and thus thou dost cleave to my young women:
Da sprach Boas zu Ruth: Hörst du wohl, meine Tochter: Gehe auf kein anderes Feld zum Auflesen, gehe auch nicht von hier weg, sondern halte dich da zu meinen Mädchen.
9 thine eyes [are] on the field which they reap, and thou hast gone after them; have not I charged the young men not to touch thee? when thou art athirst then thou hast gone unto the vessels, and hast drunk from that which the young men draw.'
Behalte das Feld, das sie schneiden, im Auge und folge ihnen; ich habe ja den Knechten Befehl gegeben, dich nicht zu behelligen. Und hast du Durst, so gehe zu den Gefäßen hin und trinke von dem, was meine Knechte schöpfen.
10 And she falleth on her face, and boweth herself to the earth, and saith unto him, 'Wherefore have I found grace in thine eyes, to discern me, and I a stranger?'
Da warf sie sich mit dem Angesicht auf die Erde nieder und sprach zu ihm: Warum erweisest du mir die Gnade, mich anzublicken, während ich doch eine Ausländerin bin?
11 And Boaz answereth and saith to her, 'It hath thoroughly been declared to me all that thou hast done with thy mother-in-law, after the death of thy husband, and thou dost leave thy father, and thy mother, and the land of thy birth, and dost come in unto a people which thou hast not known heretofore.
Boas entgegnete und sprach zu ihr: Man hat mir alles hinterbracht, was du nach deines Mannes Tode an deiner Schwiegermutter gethan hast, und daß du Vater und Mutter und dein Heimatland verlassen hast und zu einem Volke gezogen bist, das du vorher nicht kanntest.
12 Jehovah doth recompense thy work, and thy reward is complete from Jehovah, God of Israel, under whose wings thou hast come to take refuge.'
Jahwe vergelte dir dein Thun, und dir werde voller Lohn von Jahwe, dem Gott Israels, zu teil, unter dessen Fittigen du Zuflucht zu suchen gekommen bist.
13 And she saith, 'Let me find grace in thine eyes, my lord, because thou hast comforted me, and because thou hast spoken unto the heart of thy maid-servant, and I — I am not as one of thy maid-servants.'
Sie antwortete: Mögest du mir gnädig gesinnt sein, mein Herr! Denn du hast mich getröstet und hast deiner Magd freundlich zugesprochen, obwohl ich nicht einmal einer deiner Mägde gleich bin.
14 And Boaz saith to her, 'At meal-time come nigh hither, and thou hast eaten of the bread, and dipped thy morsel in the vinegar.' And she sitteth at the side of the reapers, and he reacheth to her roasted corn, and she eateth, and is satisfied, and leaveth.
Zur Essenszeit aber sagte Boas zu ihr: Komm hierher und iß von der Speise und tunke deinen Bissen in den Weinessig! Da setzte sie sich zur Seite der Schnitter, und er legte ihr geröstete Körner vor, so daß sie sich satt essen konnte und noch übrig ließ.
15 And she riseth to glean, and Boaz chargeth his young men, saying, 'Even between the sheaves she doth glean, and ye do not cause her to blush;
Als sie nun aufstand, um zu lesen, gab Boas seinen Knechten den Befehl: Sie mag auch zwischen den Garben lesen, und ihr dürft ihr nichts zuleide thun;
16 and also ye do surely cast to her of the handfuls — and have left, and she hath gleaned, and ye do not push against her.'
zieht vielmehr aus den Getreidebündeln Ähren für sie heraus und laßt sie liegen, daß sie auflesen kann, ohne daß ihr sie anfahrt!
17 And she gleaneth in the field till the evening, and beateth out that which she hath gleaned, and it is about an ephah of barley;
So las sie auf dem Felde auf bis zum Abend. Und als sie ausklopfte, was sie aufgelesen hatte, da war es fast ein Epha Gerste.
18 and she taketh [it] up, and goeth into the city, and her mother-in-law seeth that which she hath gleaned, and she bringeth out and giveth to her that which she left from her satiety.
Sie hob es auf, und als sie in die Stadt kam, sah ihre Schwiegermutter, was sie aufgelesen hatte. Darauf zog sie heraus, was sie übrig behalten hatte, als sie satt geworden war, und gab es ihr.
19 And her mother-in-law saith to her, 'Where hast thou gleaned to-day? and where hast thou wrought? may he who is discerning thee be blessed.' And she declareth to her mother-in-law with whom she hath wrought, and saith, 'The name of the man with whom I have wrought to-day [is] Boaz.'
Da fragte sie ihre Schwiegermutter: Wo hast du heute gelesen und wo gearbeitet? Gesegnet sei, der dich beachtet hat! Nun erzählte sie ihrer Schwiegermutter, bei wem sie gearbeitet hatte, und sagte: Der Mann, bei dem ich heute gearbeitet habe, heißt Boas.
20 And Naomi saith to her daughter-in-law, 'Blessed [is] he of Jehovah who hath not forsaken His kindness with the living and with the dead;' and Naomi saith to her, 'The man is a relation of ours; he [is] of our redeemers.'
Da sprach Naemi zu ihrer Schwiegertochter: Gesegnet sei er von Jahwe, der sein Erbarmen nicht versagt hat den Lebenden und den Toten! Sodann sagte Naemi zu ihr: Der Mann ist unser Verwandter, er gehört zu unseren Lösern!
21 And Ruth the Moabitess saith, 'Also he surely said unto me, Near the young people whom I have thou dost cleave till they have completed the whole of the harvest which I have.'
Da sagte Ruth, die Moabiterin: Auch hat er ja zu mir gesagt: Halte dich nur zu meinen Leuten, bis sie mit meiner ganzen Ernte fertig sind.
22 And Naomi saith unto Ruth her daughter-in-law, 'Good, my daughter, that thou goest out with his young women, and they come not against thee in another field.'
Naemi erwiderte ihrer Schwiegertochter Ruth: Gut, meine Tochter! du gehst mit seinen Mädchen hinaus; so kann dir niemand auf einem fremden Feld etwas zuleide thun!
23 And she cleaveth to the young women of Boaz to glean, till the completion of the barley-harvest, and of the wheat-harvest, and she dwelleth with her mother-in-law.
So hielt sie sich beim Lesen zu den Mädchen des Boas, bis die Gersten- und die Weizenernte beendigt war; dann blieb sie bei ihrer Schwiegermutter.
