Esther 9
1 And in the twelfth month — it [is] the month of Adar — on the thirteenth day of it, in which the word of the king, even his law, hath come to be done, in the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to rule over them, and it is turned that the Jews rule over those hating them —
Und am dreizehnten Tage des zwölften Monats - das ist der Monat Adar -, wo der Erlaß des Königs und sein Gesetz zur Ausführung kommen sollte, an demselben Tag, an dem die Feinde der Juden gehofft hatten, sie zu überwältigen, und an dem nun umgekehrt die Juden selbst ihre Hasser überwältigen sollten:
2 the Jews have been assembled in their cities, in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus, to put forth a hand on those seeking their evil, and no man hath stood in their presence, for their fear hath fallen on all the peoples.
da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten in sämtlichen Provinzen des Königs Ahasveros, um Hand an die zu legen, die ihnen Unheil zuzufügen trachteten. Und niemand hielt ihnen stand, denn der Schrecken vor ihnen war auf alle Völker gefallen.
3 And all heads of the provinces, and the lieutenants, and the governors, and those doing the work that the king hath, are lifting up the Jews, for a fear of Mordecai hath fallen upon them;
Und alle Obersten der Provinzen und die Satrapen und Statthalter und Beamten des Königs unterstützten die Juden, denn der Schrecken vor Mardachai war auf sie gefallen.
4 for great [is] Mordecai in the house of the king, and his fame is going into all the provinces, for the man Mordecai is going on and becoming great.
Denn Mardachai stand groß da am Hofe des Königs, und die Kunde von ihm durchlief alle Provinzen, denn der Mann Mardachai wurde immer mächtiger.
5 And the Jews smite among all their enemies — a smiting of the sword, and slaughter, and destruction — and do with those hating them according to their pleasure,
Und so richteten die Juden unter allen ihren Feinden mit Erstechen, Niedermetzeln und Umbringen eine Niederlage an und verfuhren mit ihren Hassern nach ihrem Gutdünken.
6 and in Shushan the palace have the Jews slain and destroyed five hundred men;
Und in der Burg Susa töteten die Juden und brachten um fünfhundert Mann.
7 and Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
Und Parsandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha,
8 and Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
Poratha, Adalja, Aridatha,
9 and Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vajezatha,
Parmastha, Arisai, Aridai, Vajesatha,
10 ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, adversary of the Jews, they have slain, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.
die zehn Söhne Hamans, des Sohnes Hamedathas, des Widersachers der Juden, töteten sie; aber nach der Beute streckten sie nicht ihre Hand aus.
11 On that day hath come the number of the slain in Shushan the palace before the king,
An jenem Tage gelangte die Meldung von der Zahl derer, die in der Burg Susa getötet worden waren, vor den König.
12 and the king saith to Esther the queen, 'In Shushan the palace have the Jews slain and destroyed five hundred men, and the ten sons of Haman; in the rest of the provinces of the king what have they done? and what [is] thy petition? and it is given to thee; and what thy request again? and it is done.'
Und der König sprach zu der Königin Esther: In der Burg Susa haben die Juden fünfhundert Mann und die zehn Söhne Hamans getötet und umgebracht; aber in den übrigen Provinzen des Königs - was mögen sie da gethan haben! Doch was ist deine Bitte, daß sie dir gewährt werde? Und was ist weiter dein Begehren, daß es erfüllt werde?
13 And Esther saith, 'If to the king [it be] good, let it be given also to-morrow, to the Jews who [are] in Shushan, to do according to the law of to-day; and the ten sons of Haman they hang on the tree.'
Da sprach Esther: Wenn es dem Könige recht ist, so möge auch morgen den Juden zu Susa gestattet werden, ganz in der Weise wie heute zu handeln; und die zehn Söhne Hamans möge man an den Galgen hängen.
14 And the king saith — 'to be done so;' and a law is given in Shushan, and the ten sons of Haman they have hanged.
Da befahl der König, daß also gethan werden solle; und so ward ein solcher Befehl in Susa erlassen, und die zehn Söhne Hamans hängte man.
15 And the Jews who [are] in Shushan are assembled also on the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and they slay in Shushan three hundred men, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand.
So versammelten sich die Juden zu Susa auch am vierzehnten Tage des Monats Adar und töteten in Susa dreihundert Mann; aber nach der Beute streckten sie nicht ihre Hand aus.
16 And the rest of the Jews, who [are] in the provinces of the king, have been assembled, even to stand for their life, and to rest from their enemies, and to slay among those hating them five and seventy thousand, and on the prey they have not put forth their hand;
Auch die übrigen Juden, die in den Provinzen des Königs wohnten, versammelten sich und verteidigten ihr Leben, indem sie sich an ihren Feinden rächten und unter ihren Hassern 75000 töteten - aber nach der Beute streckten sie ihre Hand nicht aus -
17 on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, even to rest on the fourteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.
am dreizehnten Tage des Monats Adar, so daß sie am vierzehnten desselben ausruhten und diesen zu einem Tage der Gasterei und der Freude machten.
18 And the Jews who [are] in Shushan have been assembled, on the thirteenth day of it, and on the fourteenth of it, even to rest on the fifteenth of it, and to make it a day of banquet and of joy.
Die Juden zu Susa aber hatten sich sowohl am dreizehnten als am vierzehnten dieses Monats versammelt, so daß sie am fünfzehnten ausruhten und diesen zu einem Tage der Gasterei und der Freude machten.
19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, who are dwelling in cities of the villages, are making the fourteenth day of the month of Adar — joy and banquet, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.
Darum machen die Juden auf dem Lande, die in den Ortschaften des offenen Landes wohnen, den vierzehnten des Monats Adar zu einem Tage der Freude und Gasterei und zu einem Festtage, wobei sie sich gegenseitig Gerichte als Festgeschenke zusenden.
20 And Mordecai writeth these things, and sendeth letters unto all the Jews who [are] in all provinces of the king Ahasuerus, who are near and who are far off,
Und Mardachai schrieb diese Begebengeiten auf und sandte Schreiben an alle Juden in allen Provinzen des Königs Ahasveros, die nahen und die fernen,
21 to establish on them, to be keeping the fourteenth day of the month of Adar, and the fifteenth day of it, in every year and year,
um ihnen zur feststehenden Pflicht zu machen, daß sie alljährlich den vierzehnten Tag und den fünfzehnten Tag des Monats Adar begehen sollten
22 as days on which the Jews have rested from their enemies, and the month that hath been turned to them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning to a good day, to make them days of banquet and of joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the needy.
- entsprechend den Tagen, an denen die Juden vor ihren Feinden Ruhe bekamen, und dem Monat, in welchem ihnen Kummer in Freude und Trauer in einen Festtag verwandelt wurde -, indem sie sie als Tage der Gasterei und der Freude begingen, wobei sie sich gegenseitig Gerichte als Festgeschenke und den Armen Almosen senden sollten.
23 And the Jews have received that which they had begun to do, and that which Mordecai hath written unto them,
Und die Juden machten das, was sie zu thun begonnen, und was Mardachai an sie geschrieben hatte, zum feststehenden Brauche.
24 because Haman son of Hammedatha the Agagite, adversary of all the Jews, had devised concerning the Jews to destroy them, and had caused to fall Pur — that [is] the lot — to crush them and to destroy them;
Weil Haman, der Sohn Hamedathas, der Agagiter, der Widersacher aller Juden, gegen die Juden geplant hatte, sie umzubringen, und das Pur - das ist das Los - hatte werfen lassen, um sie zu verstören und zu vertilgen,
25 and in her coming in before the king, he said with the letter, 'Let his evil device that he devised against the Jews turn back upon his own head,' and they have hanged him and his sons on the tree,
der König aber, als Esther vor ihn trat, schriftlich befohlen hatte, daß sein verderblicher Plan, den er gegen die Juden geschmiedet, auf sein Haupt zurückfallen und daß man ihn und seine Söhne an den Galgen hängen solle:
26 therefore they have called these days Purim — by the name of the lot — therefore, because of all the words of this letter, and what they have seen concerning this, and what hath come unto them,
deshalb nannte man diese Tage Purim, nach dem Worte Pur. Deswegen - wegen des gesamten Inhalts dieses Briefs, sowohl wegen dessen, was sie selbst in dieser Hinsicht erlebt hatten, als wegen dessen, was zu ihnen gedrungen war, -
27 the Jews have established and received upon them, and upon their seed, and upon all those joined unto them, and it doth not pass away, to be keeping these two days according to their writing, and according to their season, in every year and year;
machten es die Juden für sich und ihre Nachkommen, sowie für alle, die sich ihnen anschließen würden, zu einer feststehenden Pflicht und zu einem unabänderlichen Brauche, daß sie alljährlich diese zwei Tage nach der über sie geltenden Vorschrift und Zeitbestimmung zu begehen hätten,
28 and these days are remembered and kept in every generation and generation, family and family, province and province, and city and city, and these days of Purim do not pass away from the midst of the Jews, and their memorial is not ended from their seed.
und daß diese Tage im Gedächtnisse behalten und in allen Zeitaltern, Geschlechtern, Provinzen und Städten begangen werden sollten, so daß diese Purimtage im Bereiche der Juden nie verschwänden, und ihr Gedächtnis bei ihren Nachkommen niemals aufhörte.
29 And Esther the queen, daughter of Abihail, writeth, and Mordecai the Jew, with all might, to establish this second letter of Purim,
Und die Königin Esther, die Tochter Abihails, und der Jude Mardachai schrieben unter Einsetzung ihres ganzen Ansehens, um dieses zweite Purimschreiben zum Gesetze zu erheben.
30 and he sendeth letters unto all the Jews, unto the seven and twenty and a hundred provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus — words of peace and truth —
Und er sandte Schreiben an alle Juden in die hundertundsiebenundzwanzig Provinzen, das ganze Reich des Ahasveros, mit freundschaftlichen und wohlgemeinten Worten,
31 to establish these days of Purim, in their seasons, as Mordecai the Jew hath established on them, and Esther the queen, and as they had established on themselves, and on their seed — matters of the fastings, and of their cry.
um diese Purimtage zu ihren bestimmten Zeiten zum Gesetze zu erheben, gleichwie sie der Jude Mardachai und die Königin Esther für sie zum Gesetze gemacht und gleichwie sie die Vorschriften in betreff der Fasten und ihrer Wehklage für sich selbst und für ihre Nachkommen zum Gesetze gemacht hatten.
32 And a saying of Esther hath established these matters of Purim, and it is written in the Book.
Und der Befehl Esthers erhob die Purimvorschrift zum Gesetz; und er ward aufgezeichnet in einer Urkunde.
