Micah 5

1 Now thou, douyter of a theef, schalt be distried; thei puttiden on vs bisegyng, in a yerde thei schulen smyte the cheke of the iuge of Israel.

Ora, o figliuola di schiere, raduna le tue schiere! Ci cingono d’assedio: colpiscon con la verga la guancia del giudice d’Israele!

2 And thou, Bethleem Effrata, art litil in the thousyndis of Juda; he that is the lordli gouernour in Israel, schal go out of thee to me; and the goyng out of hym is fro bigynnyng, fro daies of euerlastyngnesse.

Ma da te, o Bethlehem Efrata, piccola per essere tra i migliaia di Giuda, da te mi uscirà colui che sarà dominatore in Israele, le cui origini risalgono ai tempi antichi, ai giorni eterni.

3 For this thing he shal yyue hem til to the tyme in which the trauelinge of child schal bere child, and the relifs of hise britheren schulen be conuertid to the sones of Israel.

Perciò egli li darà in man dei loro nemici, fino al tempo in cui colei che deve partorire, partorirà; e il resto de’ suoi fratelli tornerà a raggiungere i figliuoli d’Israele.

4 And he schal stonde, and schal fede in the strengthe of the Lord, in the heiythe of the name of his Lord God; and thei schulen be conuertid, for now he schal be magnefied til to the endis of al erthe.

Egli starà là e pascerà il suo gregge colla forza dell’Eterno, colla maestà del nome dell’Eterno, del suo Dio. E quelli dimoreranno in pace, perché allora ei sarà grande fino all’estremità della terra.

5 And this schal be pees, whanne Assirius schal come in to oure lond, and whanne he schal trede in oure housis; and we schulen reise on hym seuene scheepherdis, and eiyte primatis men, ether the firste in dignytee.

E sarà lui che recherà la pace. Quando l’Assiro verrà nel nostro paese, e metterà il piede nei nostri palazzi, noi faremo sorgere contro di lui sette pastori e otto principi di fra il popolo.

6 And thei schulen frete the lond of Assur bi swerd, and the lond of Nembroth bi speris of hym; and he schal delyuere vs fro Assur, whanne he schal come in to oure lond, and whanne he schal trede in oure coostis.

Essi pasceranno il paese dell’Assiro con la spada, e la terra di Nimrod nelle sue proprie città; ed egli ci libererà dall’Assiro, quando questi verrà nel nostro paese, e metterà il piede nei nostri confini.

7 And relifs of Jacob schulen be in the myddil of many puplis, as dew of the Lord, and as dropis on erbe, whiche abidith not man, and schal not abide sones of men.

Il resto di Giacobbe sarà, in mezzo a molti popoli, come una rugiada che vien dall’Eterno, come una fitta pioggia sull’erba, le quali non aspettano ordine d’uomo, e non dipendono dai figliuoli degli uomini.

8 And relifs of Jacob schulen be in hethene men, in the myddil of many puplis, as a lioun in beestis of the woodis, and as a whelpe of a lioun rorynge in flockis of scheep; and whanne he passith, and defoulith, and takith, there is not that schal delyuere.

Il resto di Giacobbe sarà fra le nazioni, in mezzo a molti popoli, come un leone tra le bestie della foresta, come un leoncello fra i greggi di pecore, il quale, quando passa, calpesta e sbrana, senza che alcuno possa liberare.

9 And thin hond schal be reisid on thin enemyes, and alle thin enemyes schulen perische.

Si levi la tua mano sopra i tuoi avversari, e tutti i tuoi nemici siano sterminati!

10 And it schal be, in that dai, seith the Lord, Y schal take awei thin horsis fro the myddil of thee, and Y schal distrie thi foure horsid cartis.

E in quel giorno avverrà, dice l’Eterno, che io sterminerò i tuoi cavalli in mezzo a te, e distruggerò i tuoi carri;

11 And Y schal leese the citees of thi lond, and Y schal distrie alle thi strengthis;

sterminerò le città del tuo paese, e atterrerò tutte le tue fortezze;

12 and Y schal do awei witchecraftis fro thin hond, and dyuynaciouns schulen not be in thee.

sterminerò dalla tua mano i sortilegi, e tu non avrai più pronosticatori;

13 And Y schal make for to perische thi `grauun ymagis, and Y schal breke togidere fro the myddil of thee thin ymagis, and thou schalt no more worschipe the werkis of thin hondis.

sterminerò in mezzo a te le tue immagini scolpite e le tue statue, e tu non ti prostrerai più davanti all’opera delle tue mani.

14 And Y schal drawe out of the middis of thee thi woodis, and Y schal al to-breke thi citees.

Io estirperò di mezzo a te i tuoi idoli d’Astarte, e distruggerò le tue città.

15 And Y schal make in woodnesse and indignacioun veniaunce in alle folkis, whiche herden not.

E farò vendetta nella mia ira e nel mio furore delle nazioni che non avran dato ascolto.
