Joshua 13
1 Josue was eld and of greet age; and the Lord seide to him, Thou hast woxe eld, and art of long tyme; and largeste lond is left, which is not yit departid bi lot;
Josué était vieux, avancé en âge; Yahweh lui dit: « Tu es devenu vieux, tu es avancé en âge, et il reste encore un très grand pays à conquérir.
2 that is, al Galile, Filistiym, and al Gessuri,
Voici le pays qui reste: tous les districts des Philistins et tout le territoire des Gessuriens,
3 fro the troblid flood that moistith Egipt, `til to the termes of Acaron ayenus the north; the lond of Chanaan, which is departid `in to fyue litle kyngis of Filistym, of Gaza, and of Azotus, of Ascolon, of Geth, and of Accaron.
depuis le Schichor qui coule à l'orient de l'Egypte, jusqu'à la frontière d'Accaron vers le nord, contrée qui doit être réputée Chananéenne; les cinq princes des Philistins, celui de Gaza, celui d'Azoth, celui d'Ascalon, celui de Geth et celui d'Accaron; les Hévéens
4 Forsothe at the south ben Eueis, al the lond of Canaan, and Maara of Sidonyes, `til to Affetha, and to the termes of Amorrei, and the coostis of hym;
au midi; tout le pays des Chananéens, et Maara qui est aux Sidoniens, jusqu'à Aphec, jusqu'à la frontière des Amorrhéens;
5 and the cuntrei of Liban ayens the eest, fro Baalgath, vndur the hil of Hermon, til thou entrist into Emath,
le pays des Gébalites, et tout le Liban vers le soleil levant, depuis Baal-Gad au pied du mont Hermon jusqu'à l'entrée de Hamath;
6 of alle men that dwelliden in the hil, fro the Liban `til to the watris of Masserephoth, and alle men of Sidon; Y am, that schal do awei hem fro the face of the sones of Israel; therfor come it in to the part of eritage of Israel, as Y comaundide to thee.
tous les habitants de la montagne, depuis le Liban jusqu'aux eaux de Maséréphoth, savoir tous les Sidoniens: je les chasserai de devant les enfants d'Israël. Seulement partage par le sort ces pays en héritage à Israël, comme je l'ai commandé.
7 And thou now departe the lond in to possessioun to the nyne lynagis, and to the half lynage of Manasses,
Et maintenant répartis ce pays en héritage aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu de Manassé. »
8 with which lynage Ruben and Gad weldiden the lond, which lond Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord, yaf to hem biyende the flowyngis of Jordan, at the eest coost;
Avec l'autre moitié, les Rubénites et les Gadites ont reçu leur héritage, que Moïse leur a donné de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient, comme le leur a donné Moïse, serviteur de Yahweh:
9 fro Aroer, which is set in the brynke of the stronde of Arnon, in the middis of the valei, and alle the feeldi places of Medaba,

toutes les villes de Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, qui régnait à Hésebon, jusqu'à la frontière des enfants d'Ammon;
11 and of Galaad, and to the termes of Gessuri, and of Machati, and al the hil of Hermon, and al Basan, `til to Salecha;
Galaad, le territoire des Gessuriens et des Machatiens, toute la montagne d'Hermon, et tout Basan, jusqu'à Salécha:
12 al the rewme of Og in Basan, that regnede in Astoroth, and in Edraym; `he was of the relikis of Rafaym, `that is, of giauntis; and Moises smoot hem and dide awey hem.
tout le royaume d'Og en Basan, qui régnait à Astaroth et à Edraï: c'était le dernier reste des Rephaïm. Moïse battit ces rois et les chassa.
13 And the sones of Israel nolden destrye Gessurri and Machati; and thei dwelliden in the myddis of Israel, `til in to present dai.
Mais les enfants d'Israël ne chassèrent point les Gessuriens et les Machatiens, et Gessur et Machat habitent au milieu d'Israël jusqu'à ce jour.
14 Sotheli he yaf not possessioun to the lynage of Leuy, but sacrifices, and slayn sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel; that is `his eritage, as God spak to hym.
La tribu de Lévi fut la seule à laquelle Moïse ne donna pas d'héritage; les sacrifices faits par le feu devant Yahweh, le Dieu d'Israël, sont son héritage, comme il le lui avait dit.
15 Therfor Moises yaf possessioun to the lynage of the sones of Ruben, bi her kynredis;
Moïse avait donné à la tribu des fils de Ruben une part selon leurs familles.
16 and `the term of hem was fro Aroer, which is set in the brenke of the stronde of Arnon, and in the myddil valei of the same stronde, al the pleyn that ledith to Medaba,
Ils eurent pour territoire, à partir d'Aroër sur le bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et de la ville située au milieu de la vallée, toute la plaine près de Médaba,
17 and Esebon, and alle the townes of tho, that ben in the feeldi places; and Dibon, and Baal Bamoth, and the citee of Baal Meon,
Hésebon et toutes ses villes dans la plaine, Dibon, Bamoth-Baal, Beth-Baal-Maon,
18 and Gesa, and Sedymoth, and Mephe,
Jassa, Cédimoth, Méphaath,
19 and Cariathaym, and Sabana, and Sarathaphar, in the hil of the valey of Betheroeth,
Cariathaïm, Sabama, Sarath-Asar dans la montagne de la vallée,
20 and of Asedoch, Phasca, and Bethaissymoth;
Beth-Phogor, les pentes du Phasga, Beth-Jésimoth,
21 alle the feeldi citees, and alle the rewmes of Seon, kyng of Amorrey, that regnede in Esebon, whom Moyses smoot, with hise princes, Madian, Euey and Recten, and Sur, and Hur, and Rebee, duykis of Seon, enhabiters of the lond.
toutes les autres villes de la plaine et tout le royaume de Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, qui régnait à Hésebon: Moïse l'avait battu, lui et les princes de Madian, Evi, Récem, Sur, Hur et Rébé, tributaires de Séhon, qui habitaient le pays.
22 And the sones of Israel killiden bi swerd Balaam, the fals diuynour, the sone of Beor, with othere men slayn.
Le devin Balaam, fils de Béor, fut aussi du nombre de ceux que les enfants d'Israël firent périr par l'épée.
23 And the terme of the sones of Ruben was maad the flood of Jordan; this is the possessioun of Rubenytis bi her kynredis of citees and of townes.
Ainsi le territoire des fils de Ruben atteignait jusqu'au Jourdain et à son territoire. Tel fut l'héritage — les villes et leurs villages — des fils de Ruben, et leurs familles.
24 And Moises yaf to the lynage of Gad, and to the sones therof, bi her kynredis, possessioun, of which this is departyng;
Moïse donna à la tribu de Gad, aux fils de Gad, une part selon leurs familles.
25 he yaf the termes of Jazer, and alle the citees of Galaad, and the half part of the lond of the sones of Amon, `til to Aroer which is ayens Tabba;
Ils eurent pour territoire: Jaser, toutes les villes de Galaad, la moitié du pays des enfants d'Ammon, jusqu'à Aroër, qui est vis-à-vis de Rabba,
26 and fro Esebon `til to Ramoth of Masphe, and Bethamyn, and Manayn, `til to the termes of Dabir;
depuis Hésebon jusqu'à Raboth-Masphé et Bétonim, et depuis Manaïm jusqu'à la frontière de Dabir;
27 and in the valei he yaf Betharan, and Bethneuar, and Socoth, and Saphan, the tother part of the rewme of Seon, kyng of Esebon; and the ende of this is Jordan, `til to the laste part of the see of Cenereth ouer Jordan, at the eest coost.
et, dans la vallée, Beth-Haram, Beth-Nemra, Socoth et Saphon, reste du royaume de Séhon, roi d'Hésebon; le Jourdain et son territoire, jusqu'à l'extrémité de la mer de Cénéreth, de l'autre côté du Jourdain, à l'orient.
28 This is the possessioun of the sones of Gad, bi her meynees, the citees and townes of tho.
Tel fut l'héritage — les villes et leurs villages — des fils de Gad, selon leurs familles.
29 He yaf also possessioun to the half lynage of Manasses, and to hise sones, bi her kynredis,
Moïse donna à la demi-tribu de Manassé, aux fils de Manassé, une part selon leurs familles.
30 of which possessioun this is the bigynnyng; he yaf Ammaym, and al Basan, and alle the rewmes of Og, kyng of Basan, and alle the townes of Jair, that ben in Basan, sixti citees;
Ils eurent pour territoire, à partir de Manaïm, tout Basan, tout le royaume d'Og, roi de Basan, et tous les bourgs de Jaïr en Basan, soixante villes.
31 and half the part of Galaad, and Astoroth, and Edray, the citees of the rewme of Og, kyng of Basan; to the sones of Machir, sones of Manasses, and to half the part of the sones of Machir, bi her kynredis.
La moitié de Galaad, Astaroth et Edraï, villes du royaume d'Og en Basan, furent données aux fils de Machir, fils de Manassé, à la moitié des fils de Machir, selon leurs familles.
32 Moises departide this possessioun in the feeldi placis of Moab ouer Jordan, ayens Jericho, at the eest coost.
Telles sont les parts que distribua Moïse, lorsqu'il était dans les plaines de Moab, de l'autre côté du Jourdain, en face de Jéricho, à l'orient.
33 Forsothe he yaf not possessioun to the lynage of Leuy; for the Lord God himself of Israel is the possessioun of Leuy, as the Lord spak to hym.
Mais Moïse ne donna pas d'héritage à la tribu de Lévi; Yahweh, le Dieu d'Israël, est son héritage, comme il le lui a dit.
