Ephesians 6
1 Sones, obeische ye to youre fadir and modir, in the Lord; for this thing is riytful.
Teraz kilka słów do was, dzieci: Bądźcie posłuszne rodzicom ze względu na Pana—bo tak należy postępować.
2 Onoure thou thi fadir and thi modir, that is the firste maundement in biheest;
„Szanuj rodziców, żeby ci się dobrze powodziło i abyś długo żył na ziemi!”—to pierwsze z dziesięciu przykazań, które zawiera obietnicę.
3 that it be wel to thee, and that thou be long lyuynge on the erthe.
4 And, fadris, nyle ye terre youre sones to wraththe; but nurische ye hem in the teching and chastising of the Lord.
Ojcowie, nie drażnijcie dzieci, ale wychowujcie je stosując dyscyplinę i nauczając je tego, co się podoba Panu.
5 Seruauntis, obeische ye to fleischli lordis with drede and trembling, in simplenesse of youre herte, as to Crist;
Niewolnicy, bądźcie posłuszni swoim panom—szczerze i z szacunkiem, jakbyście służyli samemu Chrystusowi.
6 not seruynge at the iye, as plesinge to men, but as seruauntis of Crist; doynge the wille of God bi discrecioun,
Nie róbcie tego na pokaz, aby się im przypodobać. Pracujcie tak, jakbyście byli niewolnikami samego Chrystusa, wypełniającymi Bożą wolę z potrzeby serca.
7 with good wille seruynge as to the Lord, and not as to men;
Powtarzam: Służcie z zapałem, jakbyście czynili to dla Pana, a nie tylko dla ludzi.
8 witinge that ech man, what euere good thing he schal do, he schal resseyue this of the Lord, whether seruaunt, whether fre man.
Pamiętajcie, że wszyscy—zarówno niewolnicy, jak i wolni—zostaną nagrodzeni przez Pana za ich dobre czyny.
9 And, ye lordis, do the same thingis to hem, foryyuynge manaasis; witinge that bothe her Lord and youre is in heuenes, and the taking of persones is not anentis God.
Wy zaś, panowie, traktujcie niewolników we właściwy sposób. Nie zmuszajcie ich do niczego groźbą i pamiętajcie, że w niebie zasiada wasz wspólny Pan. On traktuje wszystkich ludzi jednakowo.
10 Her aftirward, britheren, be ye coumfortid in the Lord, and in the miyt of his vertu.
Na koniec—kilka słów zachęty: Korzystajcie z mocy naszego Pana, a wtedy również wy będziecie mocni.
11 Clothe you with the armere of God, that ye moun stonde ayens aspiynges of the deuel.
Załóżcie całą zbroję otrzymaną od Boga, abyście mogli odeprzeć podstępne ataki diabła.
12 For whi stryuyng is not to vs ayens fleisch and blood, but ayens princis and potestatis, ayens gouernours of the world of these derknessis, ayens spiritual thingis of wickidnesse, in heuenli thingis. (aiōn g165)
Nie walczymy bowiem z ludźmi, ale z władcami świata ciemności i z niewidzialnymi siłami zła. (aiōn g165)
13 Therfor take ye the armere of God, that ye moun ayenstonde in the yuel dai; and in alle thingis stonde perfit.
Używajcie więc całej zbroi Bożej, abyście w dniu ataku byli gotowi do obrony i byście odnieśli zwycięstwo.
14 Therfor stonde ye, and be gird aboute youre leendis in sothefastnesse, and clothid with the haburioun of riytwisnesse,
Bądźcie więc gotowi! Waszym pasem niech będzie prawda, a pancerzem—prawość.
15 and youre feet schood in making redi of the gospel of pees.
Waszymi butami niech będzie gotowość niesienia ludziom dobrej nowiny o pokoju.
16 In alle thingis take ye the scheld of feith, in which ye moun quenche alle the firy dartis of `the worste.
W każdej sytuacji osłaniajcie się tarczą, którą jest wasza wiara. Dzięki niej ugasicie wszystkie ogniste pociski szatana.
17 And take ye the helm of helthe, and the swerd of the Goost, that is, the word of God.
Załóżcie też hełm, którym jest wasze zbawienie, a do rąk weźcie miecz Ducha, czyli słowo Boże.
18 Bi al preier and bisechyng preie ye al tyme in spirit, and in hym wakinge in al bisynesse, and bisechyng for alle hooli men, and for me;
Poza tym wszystkim, korzystajcie z mocy Ducha Świętego, w każdej sytuacji modląc się do Boga i prosząc Go, aby miał w swojej opiece wszystkich świętych na świecie.
19 that word be youun to me in openyng of my mouth, with trist to make knowun the mysterie of the gospel,
A módlcie się również za mnie, aby Bóg dał mi właściwe słowa, gdy będę przemawiał, i abym bez obaw mógł przedstawiać ludziom tajemnicę dobrej nowiny,

23 Pees to britheren, and charite, with feith of God oure fadir, and of the Lord Jhesu Crist.
Przyjaciele, niech Bóg Ojciec i Jezus Chrystus, nasz Pan, obdarzają was pokojem, miłością i wiarą!
24 Grace with alle men that louen oure Lord Jhesu Crist in vncorrupcioun. Amen, `that is, So be it.
