Deuteronomy 12

1 These ben the heestis and domes, whiche ye owen to do, in the lond which the Lord God of thi fadrys schal yyue to thee, that thou welde it, in alle daies in whiche thou schalt go on erthe.

“जब तक तुम दुनिया में ज़िन्दा रहो तुम एहतियात करके इन ही आईन और अहकाम पर उस मुल्क में 'अमल करना जिसे ख़ुदावन्द तेरे बाप — दादा के ख़ुदा ने तुझको दिया है, ताकि तू उस पर क़ब्ज़ा करे।

2 Distrie ye alle the places wherynne hethen men whiche ye schulen welde, worschipiden her goddis, on hiy mounteyns, and litle hillis, and vndur ech tre ful of bowis.

वहाँ तुम ज़रूर उन सब जगहों को बर्बाद कर देना जहाँ — जहाँ वह क़ौमें जिनके तुम वारिस होगे, ऊँचे ऊँचे पहाड़ों पर और टीलों पर और हर एक हरे दरख़्त के नीचे अपने मा'बूदों की पूजा करती थीं।

3 Distrie ye `the auteris of hem, and `breke ye the ymagis; brenne ye the wodis with fier, and al to breke ye the idolis; destrie ye `the names of hem fro the places.

तुम उनके मज़बहों को ढा देना, और उनके सुतूनों को तोड़ डालना, और उनकी यसीरतों को आग लगा देना, और उनके मा'बूदों की खुदी हुई मूरतों को काट कर गिरा देना, और उस जगह से उनके नाम तक को मिटा डालना।

4 Ye schulen not do so to youre Lord God;

लेकिन ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा से ऐसा न करना।

5 but ye schulen come to the place which youre Lord God chees of alle youre lynagis, that he putte his name there, and dwelle therynne;

बल्कि जिस जगह को ख़ुदावन्द तुम्हारा ख़ुदा तुम्हारे सब क़बीलों में से चुन ले, ताकि वहाँ अपना नाम क़ाईम करे, तुम उसके उसी घर के तालिब होकर वहाँ जाया करना।

6 and ye schulen come, and schulen offre in that place youre brent sacrifices, and slayn sacrifices, the dymes, and firste fruytis of youre hondis, and avowis and yiftis, the firste gendrid thingis of oxun, and of scheep.

और वहीं तुम अपनी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियों और ज़बीहों और दहेकियों और उठाने की क़ुर्बानियों और अपनी मिन्नतों की चीज़ों और अपनी रज़ा की क़ुर्बानियों और गाय बैलों और भेड़ बकरियों के पहलौठों को पेश करना।

7 And ye and youre housis schulen ete there in the siyt of youre Lord God; and ye schulen be glad in alle thingis to whiche ye putten hond, in whiche youre Lord God blesside you.

और वहीं ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के सामने खाना और अपने घरानों समेत अपने हाथ की कमाई की ख़ुशी भी करना, जिसमें ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा ने तुझको बरकत बख़्शी हो।

8 Ye schulen not do there tho thingis whiche we don here to dai, ech man that semeth riytful to `hym silf.

और जैसे हम यहाँ जो काम जिसको ठीक दिखाई देता है वही करते हैं, ऐसे तुम वहाँ न करना।

9 For `til in to present tyme ye camen not to reste and possessioun, which the Lord God schal yyue to you.

क्यूँकि तुम अब तक उस आरामगाह और मीरास की जगह तक, जो ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा तुझको देता है नहीं पहुँचे हो।

10 Ye schulen passe Jordan, and ye schulen dwelle in the lond which youre Lord God schal yyue to you, that ye reste fro alle enemyes `bi cumpas, and dwelle without ony drede.

लेकिन जब तुम यरदन पार जाकर उस मुल्क में जिसका मालिक ख़ुदावन्द तुम्हारा ख़ुदा तुमको बनाता है बस जाओ, और वह तुम्हारे सब दुश्मनों की तरफ़ से जो चारों तरफ़ हैं तुमको राहत दे, और तुम अम्न से रहने लगो;

11 In the place which youre Lord God chees that his name be therynne. Thidur ye schulen bere alle thingis, whiche Y comaunde, brent sacrifices, and sacrifices, and the dymes, and firste fruytis of youre hondis, and what euere is the beste in yiftis, whiche ye auowiden to the Lord.

तो वहाँ जिस जगह को ख़ुदावन्द तुम्हारा ख़ुदा अपने नाम के घर के लिए चुन ले, वहीं तुम ये सब कुछ जिसका मैं तुमको हुक्म देता हूँ ले जाया करना; या'नी अपनी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियाँ और ज़बीहे और अपनी दहेकियाँ, और अपने हाथ के उठाए हुए हदिये, और अपनी ख़ास नज़्र की चीज़ें जिनकी मन्नत तुमने ख़ुदावन्द के लिए मानी हो।

12 Ther ye schulen ete bifor youre Lord God, ye, and youre sones and douytris, youre seruauntis, and seruauntessis, and the dekenes, that dwellen in youre citees; for thei han not other part and possessioun among you.

और वहीं तुम और तुम्हारे बेटे बेटियाँ और तुम्हारे नौकर चाकर और लौंडियाँ और वह लावी भी जो तुम्हारे फाटकों के अन्दर रहता हो और जिसका कोई हिस्सा या मीरास तुम्हारे साथ नहीं, सब के सब मिल कर ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के सामने ख़ुशी मनाना।

13 Be thou war lest thou offre thi brent sacrifices in ech place which thou seest,

और तुम ख़बरदार रहना, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जिस जगह को देख ले। वहीं अपनी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानी पेश करो।

14 but in that place which the Lord chees in oon of thi lynagis thou schalt offre sacrifices, and schalt do what euer thingis Y comaunde to thee.

बल्कि सिर्फ़ उसी जगह जिसे ख़ुदावन्द तेरे किसी क़बीले में चुन ले, तू अपनी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियाँ पेश करना और वहीं सब कुछ जिसका मैं तुमको हुक्म देता हूँ करना।

15 Forsothe if thou wolt ete, and the etyng of fleischis delitith thee, sle thou, and ete, bi the blessyng of thi Lord God, which he yaf to thee in thi citees, whether it is vnclene, `that is, spottid ether wemmed and feble, ether clene, `that is, hool in membris and with out wem, which is leueful to be offrid, thou schalt ete as a capret and hert; oneli without etyng of blood,

“लेकिन गोश्त को तुम अपने सब फाटकों के अन्दर अपने दिल की चाहत और ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा की दी हुई बरकत के मुवाफ़िक़ ज़बह कर के खा सकेगा। पाक और नापाक दोनों तरह के आदमी उसे खा सकेंगे, जैसे चिकारे और हिरन को खाते हैं।

16 which thou schalt schede out as watir on the erthe.

लेकिन तुम ख़ून को बिल्कुल न खाना, बल्कि तुम उसे पानी की तरह ज़मीन पर उँडेल देना।

17 Thou schalt not mowe ete in thi citees the tithis of thi wheete, wyn, and oile, the firste gendrid thingis of droues, and of scheep, and alle thingis whiche thou hast avowid and wolt offre bi fre wille, and the firste fruytis of thin hondis;

और तू अपने फाटकों के अन्दर अपने ग़ल्ले और मय और तेल की दहेकियाँ, और गाय — बैलों और भेड़ — बकरियों के पहलौठे, और अपनी मन्नत मानी हुई चीज़ें और रज़ा की क़ुर्बानियाँ और अपने हाथ की उठाई हुई क़ुर्बानियाँ कभी न खाना।

18 but thou schalt ete tho bifor thi Lord God, in the place which thi Lord God chees, thou, and thi sone, and douyter, seruaunt, and seruauntesse, and the dekene that dwellith in thi citees; and thou schalt be glad, and schalt be fillid bifor thi Lord God in alle thingis to whiche thou holdist forth thin hond.

बल्कि तू और तेरे बेटे बेटियाँ और तेरे नौकर — चाकर और लौंडियाँ, और वह लावी भी जो तेरे फाटकों के अन्दर हो, उन चीज़ों को ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के सामने उस जगह खाना जिसे ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा चुन ले, और तुम ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के सामने अपने हाथ की कमाई की ख़ुशी मनाना।

19 Be thou war lest thou forsake the dekene in al tyme, `in which thou lyuest in erthe.

और ख़बरदार जब तक तू अपने मुल्क में ज़िन्दा रहे लावियों को छोड़ न देना।

20 Whanne thi Lord God hath alargid thi termes, as he spak to thee, and thou wolt ete fleischis, whiche thi soule desirith,

“जब ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा उस वा'दे के मुताबिक़ जो उसने तुझ से किया है तुम्हारी सरहद को बढ़ाए, और तेरा जी गोश्त खाने को करे और तू कहने लगे कि मै तो गोश्त खाऊँगा, तो तू जैसा तेरा जी चाहे गोश्त खा सकता है।

21 forsothe if the place is fer, which thi Lord God chees, that his name be there, thou schalt sle of thin oxun, and scheep, whiche thou hast, as `the Lord comaundide to thee; and thou schalt ete in thi citees as it plesith thee.

और अगर वह जगह जिसे ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा ने अपने नाम को वहाँ क़ाईम करने के लिए चुना है तेरे मकान से बहुत दूर हो, तो तूअपने गाय बैल और भेड़ — बकरी में से जिनको ख़ुदावन्द ने तुझको दिया है किसी को ज़बह कर लेना और जैसा मैंने तुझको हुक्म दिया है तू उसके गोश्त को अपने दिल की चाहत के मुताबिक़ अपने फाटकों के अन्दर खाना;

22 As a capret and hert is etun, so thou schalt ete tho; bothe a cleene man and vncleene schulen ete therof in comyn.

जैसे चिकारे और हिरन को खाते हैं वैसे ही तू उसे खाना। पाक और नापाक दोनों तरह के आदमी उसे एक जैसे खा सकेंगे।

23 Oneli eschewe thou this, that thou ete not blood; for the blood `of tho beestis is for the lijf, and therfor thou owist not ete the lijf with fleischis,

सिर्फ़ इतनी एहतियात ज़रूर रखना कि तू ख़ून को न खाना; क्यूँकि ख़ून ही तो जान है, इसलिए तू गोश्त के साथ जान को हरगिज़ न खाना।

24 but thou schalt schede as watir `the blood on the erthe,

तू उसको खाना मत, बल्कि उसे पानी की तरह ज़मीन पर उँडेल देना;

25 that it be wel to thee, and to thi sones after thee, whanne thou hast do that, that plesith in the siyt of the Lord.

तू उसे न खाना; ताकि तेरे उस काम के करने से जो ख़ुदावन्द की नज़र में ठीक है, तेरा और तेरे साथ तेरी औलाद का भी भला हो।

26 Sotheli thou schalt take that that thou `auowidist, and halewidist to the Lord, and thou schalt come to the place which the Lord chees;

लेकिन अपनी पाक चीज़ों को जो तेरे पास हों और अपनी मन्नतो की चीज़ों को उसी जगह ले जाना जिसे ख़ुदावन्द चुन ले।

27 and thou schalt offre thin offryngis, fleischis, and blood, on the auter of thi Lord God; thou schalt schede in the auter the blood of sacrifices; forsothe thou schalt ete the fleischis.

और वहीं अपनी सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियों का गोश्त और ख़ून दोनों ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के मज़बह पर पेश करना; और ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा ही के मज़बह पर तेरे ज़बीहों का ख़ून उँडेला जाए, मगर उनका गोश्त तू खाना।

28 Kepe thou and here alle thingis whiche Y comaunde to thee, that it be wel to thee, and to thi sones after thee, with outen ende, whanne thou hast do that, that is good and plesaunt in the siyt of thi Lord God.

इन सब बातों को जिनका मैं तुझको हुक्म देता हूँ ग़ौर से सुन ले, ताकि तेरे उस काम के करने से जो ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा की नज़र में अच्छा और ठीक है, तेरा और तेरे बाद तेरी औलाद का भला हो।

29 Whanne thi Lord God hath distryed bifor thi face folkis, to whiche thou schalt entre to welde, and thou hast weldid tho folkis, and hast dwellid in `the lond of hem,

“जब ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा तेरे सामने से उन क़ौमों को उस जगह जहाँ तू उनके वारिस होने को जा रहा है काट डाले, और तू उनका वारिस होकर उनके मुल्क में बस जाये,

30 be thou war lest thou sue hem, aftir that thei ben distried, whanne thou entrist, and thou seke `the cerymonyes of hem, and seie, As these folkis worschipyden her goddis, so and Y schal worschipe.

तो तू ख़बरदार रहना, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि जब वह तेरे आगे से ख़त्म हो जाएँ तो तू इस फंदे में फँस जाये, कि उनकी पैरवी करे और उनके मा'बूदों के बारे में ये दरियाफ़्त करे कि ये क़ौमें किस तरह से अपने मा'बूदों की पूजा करती है? मै भी वैसा ही करूँगा।

31 Thou schalt not do in lijk manere to thi Lord God; for thei diden to her goddis alle abhomynaciouns whiche the Lord wlatith, and offriden her sones and douytris, and brenten with fier.

तू ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के लिए ऐसा न करना, क्यूँकि जिन जिन कामों से ख़ुदावन्द को नफ़रत और 'अदावत है वह सब उन्होंने अपने मा'बूदों के लिए किए हैं, बल्कि अपने बेटों और बेटियों को भी वह अपने मा'बूदों के नाम पर आग में डाल कर जला देते हैं।

32 Do thou to the Lord this thing oneli which Y comaunde to thee, nethir adde thou ony thing, nether abate.

“जिस जिस बात का मैं हुक्म करता हूँ, तुम एहतियात करके उस पर 'अमल करना और उसमें न तो कुछ बढ़ाना और न उसमें से कुछ घटाना।
