1 Kings 2
1 Forsothe the daies of Dauid neiyiden, that he schulde die; and he comaundide to Salomon, his sone, and seide, Lo!
Då nu tiden tillstundade att David skulle dö, bjöd han sin son Salomo och sade:
2 Y entre in to the weie of al erthe; be thou coumfortid, and be thou a strong man.
"Jag går nu all världens väg; så var då frimodig och visa dig såsom en man.
3 And kepe thou the kepyngis and heestis of thi Lord God, that thou go in hise weies, and kepe hise cerymonyes, and hise heestis, and hise domes, and witnessyngis, as it is writun in the lawe of Moises; that thou vndurstonde alle thingis whiche thou doist, and whidur euer thou schalt turne thee.
Och håll vad HERREN, din Gud, bjuder dig hålla, så att du vandrar på hans vägar och håller hans stadgar, hans bud och rätter och vittnesbörd, såsom det är skrivet i Moses lag, på det att du må hava framgång i allt vad du gör, och överallt dit du vänder dig;
4 That the Lord conferme hise wordis, whiche the Lord spak of me, and seide, If thi sones kepen my weies, and goen bifor me in treuthe, in al her herte, and in al her soule, a man schal not be takun awei of thee fro the trone of Israel.
så att HERREN får uppfylla det ord som han talade om mig, då han sade: 'Om dina barn hava akt på sin väg, så att de vandra inför mig i trohet och av allt sitt hjärta och av all sin själ, då' -- sade han -- 'skall på Israels tron aldrig saknas en avkomling av dig.'
5 Also thou knowist what thingis Joab, the sone of Saruye, dide to me; what thingis he dide to twey princis of the oost of Israel, to Abner, sone of Ner, and to Amasa, sone of Jether, whiche he killide, and schedde the blood of batel in pees; and puttide the blood of batel in his girdil, that was aboute hise leendis, and in his scho, that was in hise feet.
Vidare: du vet väl vad Joab, Serujas son, har gjort mot mig, huru han gjorde mot de två härhövitsmännen i Israel, Abner, Ners son, och Amasa, Jeters son, huru han dräpte dem, så att han i fredstid utgöt blod, likasom hade det varit krig, och, likasom hade det varit krig, lät blod komma på bältet som han hade omkring sina länder, och på skorna som han hade på sina fötter.
6 Therfor thou schalt do by thi wisdom, and thou schalt not lede forth his hoornesse pesibli to hellis. (Sheol h7585)
Så gör nu efter din vishet, och låt icke hans grå hår få med frid fara ned i dödsriket. (Sheol h7585)
7 But also thou schalt yelde grace to the sones of Bersellai of Galaad, and thei schulen be eetynge in thi boord; for thei metten me, whanne Y fledde fro the face of Absolon, thi brother.
Men mot gileaditen Barsillais söner skall du bevisa godhet, så att de få vara med bland dem som äta vid ditt bord; ty på sådant sätt bemötte de mig, när jag flydde för din broder Absalom.
8 Also thou hast anentis thee Semey, sone of Gera, sone of Gemyny, of Bahurym, which Semei curside me bi the worste cursyng, whanne Y yede to `the castels; but for he cam doun to me in to metyng, whanne Y passide Jordan, and Y swoor to him bi the Lord, and seide, Y schal not slee thee bi swerd,
Vidare har du hos dig Simei, Geras son, benjaminiten från Bahurim, som for ut mot mig i gruvliga förbannelser på den dag då jag gick till Mahanaim, men som sedan kom ned till Jordan mig till mötes, varvid jag med en ed vid HERREN lovade honom och sade: 'Jag skall icke döda dig med svärd.'
9 nyle thou suffre hym to be vnpunyschid; forsothe thou art a wise man, and thou schalt wite what thou schalt do to hym, and thou schalt lede forth hise hoor heeris with blood to hellis. (Sheol h7585)
Men nu må du icke låta honom bliva ostraffad, ty du är en vis man och vet väl vad du bör göra med honom, så att du låter hans grå hår med blod fara ned i dödsriket." (Sheol h7585)
10 Sotheli Dauid slepte with hise fadris, and was biriede in the citee of Dauid.
och David gick till vila hos sina fäder och blev begraven i Davids stad.
11 Forsothe the daies, in whiche Dauid regnede on Israel, ben fourti yeer; in Ebron he regned seuene yeer, in Jerusalem thre and thretti yeer.
Den tid David regerade över Israel var fyrtio år; i Hebron regerade han i sju år, och i Jerusalem regerade han i trettiotre år.
12 Forsothe Salomon sat on the trone of Dauid, his fadir, and his rewme was maad stidfast greetli.
Och Salomo satte sig på sin fader Davids tron, och han konungamakt blev starkt befäst.
13 And Adonye, sone of Agith, entride to Bersabee, modir of Salomon; and sche seide to hym, Whether thin entryng is pesible? And he answeride, It is pesible.
Men Adonia, Haggits son, kom till Bat-Seba, Salomos moder. Hon frågade då: "Har du gott att meddela?" Han svarade: "Ja."
14 And he addide, A word of me is to thee. `To whom sche seide, Speke thou.
Därefter sade han: "Jag har något att tala med dig om." Hon svarade: "Tala."
15 And he seide, Thou knowist that the rewme was myn, and al Israel purposide to make me in to king to hem; but the rewme is translatid, and is maad my brotheris; for of the Lord it is ordeyned to hym.
Då sade han: "Du vet själv att konungadömet tillhörde mig, och att hela Israel fäste sina blickar på mig, i förväntan att jag skulle bliva konung. Men så gick konungadömet ifrån mig och blev min broders; genom HERRENS skickelse blev det hans.
16 Now therfor Y preye of the oon axyng; schende thou not my face. And sche seide to hym, Speke thou. And he seide, Y preie,
Nu har jag en enda bön till dig. Visa icke bort mig." Hon svarade honom: "Tala."
17 that thou seie to Salomon the king; for he may not denye ony thing to thee; that he yyue to me Abisag of Sunam wijf.
Då sade han: "Säg till konung Salomo -- dig visar han ju icke bort -- att han giver mig Abisag från Sunem till hustru."
18 And Bersabee seide, Wel, Y schal speke for thee to the kyng.
Bat-Seba svarade: "Gott! Jag skall själv tala med konungen om dig."
19 Therfor Bersabee cam to kyng Salomon, to speke to hym for Adonye; and the kyng roos ayens the comyng of hir, and worschipide hir, and `sat on his trone; and a trone was set to the modir of the kyng, and sche sat at his riyt side.
Så gick då Bat-Seba in till konung Salomo för att tala med honom om Adonia. Då stod konungen upp och gick emot henne och bugade sig för henne och satte sig därefter på sin stol; man ställde ock fram en stol åt konungens moder, och hon satte sig på hans högra sida.
20 And sche seide to hym, Y preie of thee o litil axyng; schende thou not my face. And the kyng seide to hir, My modir, axe thou; for it is not leueful that Y turne awei thi face.
Därefter sade hon: "Jag har en enda liten bön till dig. Visa icke bort mig." Konungen svarade henne: "Framställ din bön, min moder; jag vill ingalunda visa bort dig."
21 And sche seide, Abisag of Sunam be youun wijf to Adonye, thi brother.
Då sade hon: "Låt giva Abisag från Sunem åt din broder Adonia till hustru."
22 And kyng Salomon answeride, and seide to his modir, Whi axist thou Abisag of Sunam to Adonye? Axe thou to hym also the rewme; for he is `my gretter brothir, and he hath Abiathar, preest, and Joab, sone of Saruye.
Men konung Salomo svarade och sade till sin moder: "Varför begär du endast Abisag från Sunem åt Adonia? Du kunde lika gärna begära konungadömet åt honom -- han är ju min äldste broder -- ja, åt honom och åt prästen Ebjatar och åt Joab, Serujas son."
23 Therfor kyng Salomon swoor bi the Lord, and seide, God do to me these thingis, and adde these thinges, for Adonie spak this word ayens his lijf.
Och konung Salomo betygade med ed vid HERREN och sade: "Gud straffe mig nu och framgent, om icke Adonia med sitt liv skall få umgälla att han har talat detta.
24 And now the Lord lyueth, that confermede me, and hath set me on the trone of my fadir, and that hath maad to me an hows, as he spak, for Adonye schal be slayn to dai.
Och nu, så sant HERREN lever, han som har utsett mig och uppsatt mig på min fader Davids tron, och som, enligt sitt löfte, har uppbyggt åt mig ett hus: i dag skall Adonia dödas."
25 And kyng Salomon sente bi the hond of Banaie, sone of Joiada; which Banaie killide Adonye, and he was deed.
Därefter sände konung Salomo åstad och lät utföra detta genom Benaja, Jojadas son; denne stötte ned honom, så att han dog.
26 Also the kyng seide to Abiathar, preest, Go thou in to Anatot, to thi feeld; and sotheli thou art a man of deeth, `that is, worthi the deeth, for conspiryng ayens me, and the ordynaunce of God, and of my fadir; but to dai Y schal not sle thee, for thou barist the arke of the Lord God bifor Dauid, my fadir, and thou suffridist trauele in alle thingis, in whiche my fadir trauelide.
Och till prästen Ebjatar sade konungen: "Gå bort till ditt jordagods i Anatot, ty du har förtjänat döden; men i dag vill jag icke döda dig, eftersom du har burit Herrens, HERRENS ark framför min fader David, och eftersom du med min fader har lidit allt vad han har fått lida.
27 Therfor Salomon puttide out Abiathar, that he schulde not be preest of the Lord, that the word of the Lord were fillid, which he spak on the hows of Heli, in Silo.
Så drev Salomo bort Ebjatar och lät honom icke längre vara HERRENS präst, för att HERRENS ord skulle uppfyllas, det som han hade talat i Silo över Elis hus.
28 Forsothe a messager cam to Salomon, that Joab hadde bowid aftir Adonye, and that he hadde not bowid after Salomon. Therfor Joab fledde in to the tabernacle of the Lord, and took the horn of the auter.
Då nu ryktet härom kom till Joab -- som ju hade slutit sig till Adonia, om han ock icke hade slutit sig till Absalom -- flydde han till HERRENS tält och fattade i hornen på altaret.
29 And it was teld to kyng Salomon, that Joab hadde fledde in to the tabernacle of the Lord, and was bisidis the auter; and Salomon sente Banaie, sone of Joiada, and seide, Go thou, and sle hym.
Men när det blev berättat för konung Salomo att Joab hade flytt till HERRENS tält, och att han stod invid altaret, sände Salomo åstad Benaja, Jojadas son, och sade: "Gå och stöt ned honom."
30 And Banaie cam to the tabernacle of the Lord, and seide to Joab, The kyng seith these thingis, Go thou out. And he seide, Y schal not go out, but Y schal die here. Banaie telde the word to the kyng, and seide, Joab spak thes thingis, and answeride these thingis to me.
När Benaja så kom till HERRENS tält, sade han till honom: "Så säger konungen: Gå bort härifrån." Men han svarade: "Nej; här vill jag dö." När Benaja framförde detta till konungen och sade: "Så och så har Joab sagt, så har han svarat mig",
31 And the kyng seide to Banaie, Do thou as he spak, and sle thou hym, and birie him; and thou schalt remoue the innocent blood, that was sched out of Joab, fro me, and fro the hows of my fadir.
sade konungen till honom: "Gör såsom han har sagt, stöt ned honom och begrav honom, så att du befriar mig och min faders hus från skulden för det blod som Joab utan sak har utgjutit.
32 And the Lord yelde on his heed his blood, for he killide twei iust men, and betere than hym silf, and he killide hem bi swerd, while Dauid, my fadir, `wiste not, Abner, the sone of Ner, the prince of the chyualrie of Israel, and Amasa, sone of Jether, the prince of the oost of Juda.
Och må HERREN låta hans blod komma tillbaka över hans eget huvud, därför att han stötte ned två män som voro rättfärdigare och bättre än han själv, och dräpte dem med svärd, utan att min fader David visste det, nämligen Abner, Ners son, härhövitsmannen i Israel, och Amasa, Jeters son, härhövitsmannen i Juda.
33 And the blood of hem schal turne ayen in to the heed of Joab, and in to the heed of his seed with outen ende; forsothe pees be of the Lord til in to with outen ende to Dauid, and to his seed, and to the hous and trone of hym.
Ja, deras blod skall komma tillbaka över Joabs och hans efterkommandes huvud för evigt. Men åt David och hans efterkommande, hans hus och hans tron skall HERREN giva frid till evig tid.
34 Therfor Banaie, sone of Joiada, stiede, and asailide, and killide Joab; and Joab was biried in his hows in deseert.
Så gick då Benaja, Jojadas son, ditupp och stötte ned honom och dödade honom; och han blev begraven där han bodde i öknen.
35 And the kyng ordeynede Banaie, sone of Joiada, on the oost for hym; and the kyng puttide Sadoch preest for Abiathar.
Och konungen satte Benaja, Jojadas son, i hans ställe över hären; och prästen Sadok hade konungen satt i Ebjatars ställe.
36 Also the kyng sente, and clepide Semey, and seide to hym, Bilde to thee an hows in Jerusalem, and dwelle thou there, and thou schalt not go out fro thennus hidur and thidur;
Därefter sände konungen och lät kalla till sig Simei och sade till honom: "Bygg dig ett hus i Jerusalem och bo där, och därifrån får du icke gå ut, varken hit eller dit.
37 sotheli in what euer dai thou goist out, and passist the stronde of Cedron, wite thou thee worthi to be slayn; thi blood schal be on thin heed.
Ty det må du veta, att på den dag du går ut och går över bäcken Kidron skall du döden dö. Ditt blod kommer då över ditt eget huvud."
38 And Semei seide to the kyng, The word of the kyng is good; as my lord the kyng spak, so thi seruaunt schal do. Therfor Semey dwellide in Jerusalem in many daies.
Simei sade till konungen: "Vad du har talat är gott; såsom min herre konungen har sagt, så skall din tjänare göra." Och Simei bodde i Jerusalem en lång tid.
39 Forsothe it was doon after thre yeer, that the seruauntis of Semei fledden to Achis, sone of Maacha, the kyng of Geth; and it was teld to Semey, that hise seruauntis hadden go in to Geth.
Men tre år därefter hände sig att två tjänare flydde ifrån Simei till Akis, Maakas son, konungen i Gat. Och man berättade för Simei och sade: "Dina tjänare äro i Gat."
40 And Semey roos, and sadlide his asse, and yede to Achis, in to Geth, to seke hise seruauntis; and brouyte hem ayen fro Geth.
Då stod Simei upp och sadlade sin åsna och begav sig till Akis i Gat för att söka efter sina tjänare. Simei begav sig alltså åstad och hämtade sina tjänare från Gat.
41 Forsothe it was teld to kyng Salomon, that Semey hadde go to Geth fro Jerusalem, and hadde come ayen.
Men när det blev berättat för Salomo att Simei hade begivit sig från Jerusalem till Gat och kommit tillbaka,
42 And Salomon sente, and clepide hym, and seide to hym, Whether Y witnessede not to thee bi the Lord, and bifor seide to thee, In what euer dai thou schalt go out hidur and thidur, wite thou that thou schalt die; and thou answeridist to me, The word is good, which Y herde?
sände konungen och lät kalla till sig Simei och sade till honom: "Har jag icke bundit dig med ed vid HERREN och varnat dig och sagt till dig: 'Det må du veta, att på den dag du går ut och begiver dig hit eller dit skall du döden dö'? Och du svarade mig: 'Vad du har sagt är gott, och jag har hört det.'
43 Whi therfor keptist thou not the ooth of the Lord, and the comaundement which Y comaundide to thee?
Varför har du då icke aktat på din ed vid HERREN och på det bud som jag har givit dig?"
44 And the kyng seide to Semei, Thou knowist al the yuel, of which thin herte is gilti to thee, which yuel thou didist to my fadir; the Lord hath yolde thi malice in to thin heed.
Och konungen sade ytterligare till Simei: "Du känner själv allt det onda som ditt hjärta vet med sig att du har gjort min fader David. HERREN skall nu låta din ondska komma tillbaka över ditt eget huvud.
45 And kyng Salomon schal be blessid; and the trone of Dauid schal be stable bifor the Lord til in to with outen ende.
Men konung Salomo skall bliva välsignad, och Davids tron skall bliva befäst inför HERREN till evig tid."
46 Therfor the kyng comaundide to Banaie, sone of Joiada; and he assailide, and smoot Semey, and he was deed.
På konungens befallning gick därefter Benaja, Jojadas son, fram och stötte ned honom, så att han dog. Och konungadömet blev befäst i Salomos hand.
