Isaiah 5
1 Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.
૧હું મારા પ્રિયતમ માટે, તેની દ્રાક્ષવાડી સંબંધી મારા સ્નેહીનું ગીત ગાઉં, મારા વહાલા પ્રિયતમને ફળદ્રુપ ટેકરી પર એક દ્રાક્ષવાડી હતી.
2 He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in the middle of it, and also cut out a wine press in it. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
૨તેણે તે ખેડી અને તેમાંથી પથ્થર વીણી કાઢ્યા અને તેમાં ઉત્તમ દ્રાક્ષવેલા રોપ્યા અને તેની મધ્યમાં બુરજ બાંધ્યો અને તેમાં દ્રાક્ષકુંડ ખોદી કાઢ્યો, તેમાં દ્રાક્ષની સારી ઊપજ થશે એવી તે આશા રાખતો હતો, પણ તેમાં તો જંગલી દ્રાક્ષની ઊપજ થઈ.
3 “Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.
૩હે યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓ તથા યહૂદિયાના લોકો; તમે મારી અને મારી દ્રાક્ષવાડી વચ્ચે ઇનસાફ કરજો.
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?
૪મારી દ્રાક્ષવાડી વિશે વધારે હું શું કરી શક્યો હોત, જે મેં નથી કર્યું? જયારે હું સારી દ્રાક્ષ ઊપજવાની આશા રાખતો હતો, ત્યારે તેમાં જંગલી દ્રાક્ષની ઊપજ કેમ થઈ હશે?
5 Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.
૫હવે હું મારી દ્રાક્ષવાડીનું શું કરવાનો છું, તે હું તમને જણાવું; હું તેની વાડ કાઢી નાખીશ; જેથી તે ભેલાઈ જશે; તેનો કોટ હું પાડી નાખીશ, જેથી તે કચડાઈ જશે
6 I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”
૬હું તેને ઉજ્જડ કરી મૂકીશ, તે સોરવામાં આવશે નહિ અને કોઈ તેને ખેડશે નહિ, પણ એમાં કાંટા અને ઝાંખરાં ઊગી નીકળશે, વળી હું વાદળોને આજ્ઞા કરીશ કે તેઓ એમાં વરસાદ ન વરસાવે.
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of Hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression, for righteousness, but behold, a cry of distress.
૭કેમ કે ઇઝરાયલી લોકો તે સૈન્યોના યહોવાહની દ્રાક્ષવાડી છે અને યહૂદિયાના લોકો તેના મનપસંદ રોપા છે; તેણે ન્યાયની આશા રાખી હતી, પણ બદલામાં ત્યાં રક્તપાત હતો, નેકીની આશા રાખી હતી પણ ત્યાં વિલાપ હતો.
8 Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the middle of the land!
૮પોતે દેશમાં એકલા રહેનારા થાય ત્યાં સુધી, જેઓ ઘર સાથે ઘર જોડી દે છે અને ખેતર સાથે ખેતર જોડે છે, તેમને અફસોસ!
9 In my ears, the LORD of Hosts says: “Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.
૯સૈન્યોના ઈશ્વરે મને કહ્યું, ઘણા ઘરો પાયમાલ થશે, હા, મોટાં અને પ્રભાવશાળી ઘરો, વસ્તી વિનાનાં થઈ જશે.
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an efah.”
૧૦કેમ કે દશ એકરની દ્રાક્ષવાડીમાં એક બાથની ઊપજ થશે અને એક ઓમેર બીજમાંથી એક એફાહ અનાજ ઊપજશે.
11 Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!
૧૧જેઓ પીવા માટે સવારમાં વહેલા ઊઠે છે; જેઓ દ્રાક્ષારસ પીને મસ્ત બને ત્યાં સુધી રાત્રે મોડે સુધી જાગનારાઓને અફસોસ છે!
12 The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they don’t respect the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.
૧૨તેઓની ઉજવણીઓમાં સિતાર, વીણા, ખંજરી, વાંસળી, અને દ્રાક્ષારસ છે, પણ તેઓ યહોવાહ જે કામ કરે છે તે પર લક્ષ આપતા નથી અને યહોવાહના હાથનાં કાર્યો તેઓ ધ્યાનમાં લેતા નથી.
13 Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honourable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.
૧૩તેથી મારા લોકો અજ્ઞાનતાને લીધે બંદીવાસમાં ગયા છે; તેઓના આગેવાનો ભૂખ્યા થયા છે અને તેઓના સામાન્ય લોકો પાસે પીવા માટે કંઈ જ નથી.
14 Therefore Sheol has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices amongst them, descend into it. (Sheol h7585)
૧૪તેથી મૃત્યુએ અધિક તૃષ્ણા રાખીને પોતાનું મુખ અત્યંત પહોળું કર્યુ છે; તેઓના પસંદ કરાયેલા લોકો, તેઓના આગેવાનો, સામાન્ય લોકો અને તેઓમાં મોજ માણનાર તેમાં ઊતરી જાય છે. (Sheol h7585)
15 So man is brought low, mankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;
૧૫માણસ નમી જાય છે અને મોટા માણસો દીન બની જાય છે તથા ગર્વિષ્ઠની દૃષ્ટિ નીચી કરવામાં આવશે.
16 but the LORD of Hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
૧૬પણ સૈન્યોના યહોવાહ તેમના ન્યાયને લીધે મોટા મનાય છે અને ઈશ્વર જે પવિત્ર છે તે ન્યાયથી પવિત્ર મનાય છે.
17 Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and strangers will eat the ruins of the rich.
૧૭ઘેટાં જાણે પોતાના બીડમાં ચરતાં હોય તેમ ચરશે અને ધનાઢ્યોના પાયમાલ થયેલાં સ્થાને, પારકાં લોકો ખાઈ જશે.
18 Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope,
૧૮જેઓ અન્યાયને વ્યર્થતાની દોરીઓથી અને પાપને ગાડાના દોરડાથી તાણે છે તેઓને અફસોસ;
19 who say, “Let him make haste, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”
૧૯જેઓ કહે છે, “ઈશ્વરને ઉતાવળ કરવા દો, તેમને કામ જલદી કરવા દો, કે જેથી અમે તે જોઈ શકીએ; અને ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રની યોજના અમલમાં આવે, જેથી અમે તે જાણી શકીએ.”
20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
૨૦જેઓ ખોટાને સારું અને સારાને ખોટું કહે છે; જેઓ અજવાળાંને સ્થાને અંધકાર અને અંધકારને સ્થાને અજવાળું ઠરાવે છે; જેઓ કડવાને સ્થાને મીઠું અને મીઠાનું કડવું ઠરાવે છે તેઓને અફસોસ!
21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
૨૧જેઓ પોતાની દૃષ્ટિમાં બુદ્ધિમાન અને પોતાની નજરમાં ડાહ્યા છે, તેઓને અફસોસ!
22 Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;
૨૨જેઓ દ્રાક્ષારસ પીવામાં શૂરા અને દારૂ મિશ્રિત કરવામાં કુશળ છે તેઓને અફસોસ!
23 who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!
૨૩તેઓ લાંચ લઈને દુષ્ટને નિર્દોષ ઠરાવે છે અને ન્યાયીનું ન્યાયીપણું છીનવી લે છે!
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have rejected the law of the LORD of Hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
૨૪તેથી જેમ અગ્નિની જીભ ઠૂંઠાને સ્વાહા કરી જાય છે; અને સૂકું ઘાસ ભડકામાં બળી જાય છે, તેમ તેઓનાં મૂળ સડી જશે અને તેઓના મોર ધૂળની જેમ ઊડી જશે; કેમ કે તેઓએ સૈન્યોના યહોવાહના નિયમ તજ્યા છે અને ઇઝરાયલના પવિત્રના વચનનો અનાદર કર્યો છે.
25 Therefore the LORD’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the middle of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
૨૫તેથી યહોવાહનો કોપ પોતાના લોકો વિરુદ્ધ સળગ્યો છે અને તેઓના પર યહોવાહે હાથ ઉગામીને તેમને સજા કરી છે; પર્વતો ધ્રૂજ્યા અને લોકોના મૃત દેહ ગલીઓમાં કચરાની જેમ પડ્યા છે. તેમ છતાં, તેમનો ક્રોધ શાંત થયો નથી, પણ તેમનો હાથ હજી ઉગામેલો જ છે.
26 He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.
૨૬તે દૂરથી વિદેશીઓની તરફ ધ્વજા ઊભી કરશે અને તેઓને સીટી વગાડીને પૃથ્વીને છેડેથી બોલાવશે; જુઓ, તેઓ ઉતાવળે ઝટ આવશે.
27 No one shall be weary nor stumble amongst them; no one shall slumber nor sleep, neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the strap of their sandals be broken,
૨૭તેઓમાં કોઈ થાકેલો નથી, કોઈ ઠોકર ખાતો નથી; નથી કોઈ ઝોકાં ખાતો કે નથી કોઈ ઊંઘતો; કોઈનો કમરબંધ ઢીલો નથી, કે કોઈ પગરખાંની દોરી તૂટેલી નથી;
28 whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.
૨૮તેમનાં બાણ તીક્ષ્ણ કરેલાં છે અને ધનુષ્યો ખેંચેલાં છે; તેમના ઘોડાની ખરીઓ ચકમકના પથ્થર જેવી છે અને તેમના રથનાં ચક્રો વંટોળિયાના જેવાં છે.
29 Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.
૨૯તેમની ગર્જના સિંહના જેવી છે, તેઓ સિંહના બચ્ચાની જેમ ગર્જના કરશે. તેઓ શિકારને પકડીને દૂર લઈ જશે અને તેને છોડાવનાર કોઈ મળશે નહિ.
30 They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
૩૦તે દિવસે તેના પર તે સમુદ્રના ઘુઘવાટની જેમ ઘૂરકશે. જો કોઈ તે દેશને ધારીને જોશે, તો જ્યાં જુઓ અંધકાર તથા વિપત્તિ દેખાશે અને આકાશમાં પ્રકાશને સ્થાને અંધકાર દેખાશે.
