Romans 1

1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,

١ مِنْ بُولُسَ عَبْدِ يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ، الرَّسُولِ الْمَدْعُوِّ وَالْمُفْرَزِ لإِنْجِيلِ اللهِ،

2 which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,

٢ هَذَا الإِنْجِيلِ الَّذِي وَعَدَ اللهُ بِهِ مِنْ قَبْلُ عَلَى أَلْسِنَةِ أَنْبِيَائِهِ فِي الْكُتُبِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ،

3 concerning his Son, who was born of the offspring of David according to the flesh,

٣ وَهُوَ يَخْتَصُّ بِابْنِهِ الَّذِي جَاءَ مِنْ نَسْلِ دَاوُدَ مِنَ النَّاحِيَةِ الْبَشَرِيَّةِ؛

4 who was declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,

٤ وَمِنْ نَاحِيَةِ رُوحِ الْقَدَاسَةِ، تَبَيَّنَ بِقُوَّةٍ أَنَّهُ ابْنُ اللهِ بِالْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأَمْوَاتِ. إِنَّهُ يَسُوعُ الْمَسِيحُ رَبُّنَا

5 through whom we received grace and apostleship for obedience of faith among all the nations for his name’s sake;

٥ الَّذِي بِهِ وَلأَجْلِ اسْمِهِ نِلْنَا نِعْمَةً وَرِسَالَةً لإِطَاعَةِ الإِيمَانِ بَيْنَ جَمِيعِ الأُمَمِ،

6 among whom you are also called to belong to Jesus Christ;

٦ وَمِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ أَنْتُمْ أَيْضاً مَدْعُوُّو يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.

7 to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

٧ إِلَى جَمِيعِ مَنْ هُمْ فِي رُومَا مِنْ أَحِبَّاءِ اللهِ الْقِدِّيسِينَ الْمَدْعُوِّينَ. لِتَكُنْ لَكُمُ النِّعْمَةُ وَالسَّلاَمُ مِنَ اللهِ أَبِينَا وَالرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ!

8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, that your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.

٨ أَوَّلاً، أَشْكُرُ إِلهِي بِيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ مِنْ أَجْلِكُمْ جَمِيعاً، لأَنَّ إِيمَانَكُمْ يُذَاعُ خَبَرُهُ فِي الْعَالَمِ كُلِّهِ.

9 For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers,

٩ فَإِنَّ اللهَ الَّذِي أَخْدِمُهُ بِرُوحِي فِي التَّبْشِيرِ بِإِنْجِيلِ ابْنِهِ، هُوَ شَاهِدٌ لِي كَيْفَ لاَ أَتَوَقَّفُ عَنْ ذِكْرِكُمْ

10 requesting, if by any means now at last I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you.

١٠ فِي صَلَوَاتِي، مُتَوَسِّلاً دَائِماً عَسَى الآنَ أَنْ يَتَيَسَّرَ لِي مَرَّةً بِمَشِيئَةِ اللهِ أَنْ آتِيَ إِلَيْكُمْ.

11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established;

١١ فَإِنِّي أَشْتَاقُ أَنْ أَرَاكُمْ لأَحْمِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ بَرَكَةً رُوحِيَّةً لِتَثْبِيتِكُمْ،

12 that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

١٢ لِيُشَجِّعَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضَاً بِالإِيمَانِ الْمُشْتَرَكِ، إِيمَانِكُمْ وَإِيمَانِي.

13 Now I don’t desire to have you unaware, brothers, that I often planned to come to you (and was hindered so far), that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.

١٣ ثُمَّ لاَ أُرِيدُ أَنْ يَخْفَى عَلَيْكُمْ، أَيُّهَا الإِخْوَةُ، أَنَّنِي كَثِيراً مَا قَصَدْتُ أَنْ آتِيَ إِلَيْكُمْ، لِيَكُونَ لِي ثَمَرٌ مِنْ بَيْنِكُمْ أَيْضاً كَمَا لِي مِنْ بَيْنِ الأُمَمِ الأُخْرَى، إِلاَّ أَنَّنِي كُنْتُ أُعَاقُ حَتَّى الآنَ

14 I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.

١٤ فَإِنَّ عَلَيَّ دَيْناً لِلْيُونَانِيِّينَ وَالْبَرَابِرَةِ، لِلمُتَعَلِّمِينَ وَالْجُهَّالِ.

15 So as much as is in me, I am eager to preach the Good News to you also who are in Rome.

١٥ وَلِذلِكَ، فَبِكُلِّ مَا لَدَيَّ، أَنَا فِي غَايَةِ الشَّوْقِ أَنْ أُبَشِّرَ بِالإِنْجِيلِ أَيْضاً بَيْنَكُمْ أَنْتُمُ الَّذِينَ فِي رُومَا.

16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

١٦ فَأَنَا لاَ أَسْتَحِي بِالإِنْجِيلِ، لأَنَّهُ قُدْرَةُ اللهِ لِلْخَلاَصِ، لِكُلِّ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ، لِلْيَهُودِيِّ أَوَّلاً ثُمَّ لِلْيُونَانِيِّ.

17 For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.”

١٧ فَفِيهِ قَدْ أُعْلِنَ الْبِرُّ الَّذِي يَمْنَحُهُ اللهُ عَلَى أَسَاسِ الإِيمَانِ وَالَّذِي يُؤَدِّي إِلَى الإِيمَانِ، عَلَى حَدِّ مَا قَدْ كُتِبَ: «أَمَّا مَنْ تَبَرَّرَ بِالإِيمَانِ، فَبِالإِيمَانِ يَحْيَا».

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

١٨ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ أُعْلِنَ غَضَبُ اللهِ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ عَلَى جَمِيعِ مَا يَفْعَلُهُ النَّاسُ مِنْ عِصْيَانٍ وَإِثْمٍ الَّذِينَ يَحْجُبُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالإِثْمِ.

19 because that which is known of God is revealed in them, for God revealed it to them.

١٩ ذَلِكَ لأَنَّ مَا يُعْرَفُ عَنِ اللهِ وَاضِحٌ بَيْنَهُمْ، إِذْ بَيَّنَهُ اللهُ لَهُمْ.

20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. (aïdios g126)

٢٠ فَإِنَّ مَا لاَ يُرَى مِنْ أُمُورِ اللهِ، أَيْ قُدْرَتَهُ الأَزَلِيَّةَ وَأُلُوهَتَهُ، ظَاهِرٌ لِلْعِيَانِ مُنْذُ خَلْقِ الْعَالَمِ، إِذْ تُدْرِكُهُ الْعُقُولُ مِنْ خِلاَلِ الْمَخْلُوقَاتِ. حَتَّى إِنَّ النَّاسَ بَاتُوا بِلاَ عُذْرٍ. (aïdios g126)

21 Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened.

٢١ فَمَعَ أَنَّهُمْ عَرَفُوا اللهَ، لَمْ يُمَجِّدُوهُ بِاعْتِبَارِهِ اللهَ، وَلاَ شَكَرُوهُ، بَلِ انْصَرَفُوا بِتَفْكِيرِهِمْ إِلَى الْحَمَاقَةِ وَصَارَ قَلْبُهُمْ لِغَبَاوَتِهِ مُظْلِماً.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

٢٢ وَفِيمَا يَدَّعُونَ أَنَّهُمْ حُكَمَاءُ، صَارُوا جُهَّالاً،

23 and traded the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, four-footed animals, and creeping things.

٢٣ وَاسْتَبْدَلُوا بِمَجْدِ اللهِ الْخَالِدِ تَمَاثِيلَ لِصُوَرِ الإِنْسَانِ الْفَانِي وَالطُّيُورِ وَذَوَاتِ الأَرْبَعِ وَالزَّوَاحِفِ.

24 Therefore God also gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves;

٢٤ لِذَلِكَ أَسْلَمَهُمُ اللهُ، فِي شَهَوَاتِ قُلُوبِهِمْ، إِلَى النَّجَاسَةِ، لِيُهِينُوا أَجْسَادَهُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ.

25 who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (aiōn g165)

٢٥ إِذْ قَدِ اسْتَبْدَلُوا بِحَقِّ اللهِ مَا هُوَ بَاطِلٌ، فَاتَّقَوْا الْمَخْلُوقَ وَعَبَدُوهُ بَدَلَ الْخَالِقِ، الْمُبَارَكِ إِلَى الأَبَدِ. آمِين! (aiōn g165)

26 For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature.

٢٦ لِهَذَا السَّبَبِ أَسْلَمَهُمُ اللهُ إِلَى الشَّهَوَاتِ الْمُخْزِيَةِ. فَإِنَّ إِنَاثَهُمْ تَحَوَّلْنَ عَنِ اسْتِعْمَالِ أَجْسَادِهِنَّ بِالطَّرِيقَةِ الطَّبِيعِيَّةِ إِلَى اسْتِعْمَالِهَا بِطَرِيقَةٍ مُخَالِفَةٍ لِلطَّبِيعَةِ.

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.

٢٧ وَكَذلِكَ تَحَوَّلَ الذُّكُورُ أَيْضاً عَنِ اسْتِعْمَالِ الأُنْثَى بِالطَّرِيقَةِ الطَّبِيعِيَّةِ، وَالْتَهَبُوا شَهْوَةً بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ، مُرْتَكِبِينَ الْفَحْشَاءَ ذُكُوراً بِذُكُورٍ، فَاسْتَحَقُّوا أَنْ يَنَالُوا فِي أَنْفُسِهِمِ الْجَزَاءَ الْعَادِلَ عَلَى ضَلاَلِهِمْ.

28 Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

٢٨ وَبِمَا أَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَتَخَيَّرُوا إِبْقَاءَ اللهِ ضِمْنَ مَعْرِفَتِهِمْ، أَسْلَمَهُمُ اللهُ إِلَى ذِهْنٍ عَاطِلٍ عَنِ التَّمْيِيزِ دَفَعَهُمْ إِلَى مُمَارَسَةِ الأُمُورِ غَيْرِ اللاَّئِقَةِ.

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,

٢٩ إِذْ قَدِ امْتَلأُوا مِنْ كُلِّ إِثْمٍ وَشَرٍّ وَجَشَعٍ وَخُبْثٍ، وَشُحِنُوا حَسَداً وَقَتْلاً وَخِصَاماً وَمَكْراً وَسُوءاً. وَهُمْ ثَرْثَارُونَ،

30 backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

٣٠ مُغْتَابُونَ، كَارِهُونَ لِلهِ، شَتَّامُونَ، مُتَكَبِّرُونَ، مُتَفَاخِرُونَ، مُخْتَرِعُونَ لِلشُّرُورِ، غَيْرُ طَائِعِينَ لِلْوَالِدَيْنِ.

31 without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;

٣١ لاَ فَهْمَ عِنْدَهُمْ، وَلاَ أَمَانَةَ، وَلاَ حَنَانَ، وَلاَ رَحْمَةَ.

32 who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.

٣٢ إِنَّهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ حُكْمَ اللهِ الْعَادِلِ: أَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْعَلُونَ هَذِهِ الأُمُورَ يَسْتَوْجِبُونَ الْمَوْتَ؛ وَمَعَ ذَلِكَ، لاَ يُمَارِسُونَهَا وَحَسْبُ، بَلْ يُسَرُّونَ بِفَاعِلِيهَا.
