Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
૧ત્યારે આપણે શું કહીએ? કૃપા અધિક થાય માટે શું આપણે પાપ કર્યા કરીએ?
2 May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
૨ના, એવું ન થાઓ; આપણે પાપના સંબંધી મૃત્યુ પામ્યા, તો પછી એમાં કેમ જીવીએ?
3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
૩શું તમે નથી જાણતા કે, આપણે જેઓ ખ્રિસ્ત ઈસુમાં બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા, તેઓ સર્વ તેમના મરણમાં બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા.
4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
૪તે માટે આપણે બાપ્તિસ્મા દ્વારા તેમની સાથે મરણમાં દફનાવાયા, કે જેમ ખ્રિસ્તને પિતાના મહિમાથી મૃત્યુ પામેલાઓમાંથી સજીવન કરવામાં આવ્યા તેમ જ આપણે પણ નવા જીવનમાં ચાલીએ.
5 For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
૫કેમ કે જો આપણે તેમના મરણની સમાનતામાં તેમની સાથે જોડાયાં, તો તેમના મરણોત્થાનની સમાનતામાં પણ જોડાયેલાં થઈશું.
6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
૬આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે આપણું જૂનું મનુષ્યત્વ તેમની સાથે વધસ્તંભે એ માટે જડાયું કે પાપનું શરીર નિરર્થક થાય; એટલે હવે પછી આપણે પાપના દાસત્વમાં રહીએ નહિ.
7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
૭કેમ કે જે મૃત્યુ પામેલો છે તે ન્યાયી ઠરીને પાપથી મુક્ત થયો છે.
8 But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him,
૮પણ જો આપણે ખ્રિસ્તની સાથે મૃત્યુ પામેલા છીએ, તો આપણને વિશ્વાસ છે કે તેમની સાથે જીવીશું પણ ખરા.
9 knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over him!
૯કેમ કે આપણે જાણીએ છીએ કે ખ્રિસ્તને મૃત્યુ પામેલાઓમાંથી સજીવન કરવામાં આવ્યા અને તે ફરી મૃત્યુ પામનાર નથી; હવે પછી મૃત્યુનો અધિકાર તેમના પર નથી.
10 For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
૧૦કેમ કે તેઓ મર્યા, એટલે પાપ સંબંધી એક જ વાર મૃત્યુ પામ્યા, પણ તેઓ જીવે છે એટલે ઈશ્વર સંબંધી જીવે છે.
11 Thus consider yourselves also to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
૧૧તેમ તમે પોતાને પણ પાપ સંબંધી મૃત્યુ પામેલા, પણ આપણા પ્રભુ ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્ત દ્વારા ઈશ્વર સંબંધી જીવતા ગણો.
12 Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
૧૨તે માટે તમે પાપની દુર્વાસનાઓને આધીન થઈને પાપને તમારા મર્ત્ય શરીરમાં રાજ કરવા ન દો.
13 Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
૧૩અને તમારા અવયવોને અન્યાયનાં સાધનો થવા માટે પાપને ન સોંપો; પણ મૃત્યુમાંથી સજીવન થયેલા જેવા તમે પોતાને ઈશ્વરને સોંપો તથા તમારા અવયવોને ન્યાયીપણાનાં સાધનો થવા માટે ઈશ્વરને સોંપો.
14 For sin will not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace.
૧૪પાપને તમારા પર રાજ કરવા ન દો, કેમ કે તમે નિયમશાસ્ત્રને નહિ, પણ કૃપાને આધીન છો.
15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!
૧૫તો શું, આપણે નિયમશાસ્ત્રને નહિ, પણ કૃપાને આધીન છીએ, તેથી શું પાપ કર્યા કરીએ? ના, એવું ન થાઓ.
16 Don’t you know that when you present yourselves as servants and obey someone, you are the servants of whomever you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?
૧૬શું તમે નથી જાણતા કે, જેની આજ્ઞા પાળવા માટે તમે પોતાને દાસ તરીકે સોંપો છો, એટલે જેની આજ્ઞા તમે પાળો છો, તેના દાસ તમે છો; ગમે તો મોતને અર્થે પાપના, અથવા ન્યાયીપણાને અર્થે આજ્ઞાપાલનના?
17 But thanks be to God that, whereas you were bondservants of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were delivered.
૧૭પણ ઈશ્વરનો આભાર કે તમે પાપના દાસ હોવા છતાં જે બોધ તમને કરવામાં આવ્યો, તે તમે હૃદયપૂર્વક સ્વીકાર્યો.
18 Being made free from sin, you became bondservants of righteousness.
૧૮તે રીતે તમે પાપથી મુક્ત થઈને, ન્યાયીપણાના દાસ થયા.
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh; for as you presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness for sanctification.
૧૯તમારા દેહની નિર્બળતાને લીધે હું મનુષ્યની રીતે વાત કરું છું. જેમ તમે પોતાનાં અંગોને અન્યાયને અર્થે અશુદ્ધતાને તથા અન્યાયને દાસ તરીકે સોંપ્યાં હતા, તેમ હમણાં પોતાનાં અંગો પવિત્રતાને અર્થે ન્યાયીપણાને દાસ તરીકે સોંપો.
20 For when you were servants of sin, you were free from righteousness.
૨૦કેમ કે જેવા તમે પાપના દાસ હતા તેવા તમે ન્યાયીપણાથી સ્વતંત્ર હતા.
21 What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
૨૧તો જે ખરાબ કામોથી તમે હમણાં શરમાઓ છો, તેનાથી તમને તે વખતે શું ફળ હતું? કેમ કે તે કામોનું પરિણામ મૃત્યુ છે.
