Romans 3
1 Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?
¿Qué, pues, tiene más el Judío? ¿o cuál es el provecho de la circuncisión?
2 Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the revelations of God.
Mucho en todas maneras. Lo primero ciertamente, porque los oráculos de Dios les han sido confiados.
3 For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?
¿Porque qué hay, si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos? ¿La incredulidad de ellos habrá por eso hecho vana la fe de Dios?
4 May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, “that you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment.”
En ninguna manera; antes, sea Dios veraz, y todo hombre mentiroso, como está escrito: Para que seas justificado en tus dichos, y venzas cuando fueres juzgado.
5 But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.
Mas si nuestra iniquidad encarece la justicia de Dios, ¿qué diremos? ¿ Será por eso injusto Dios que da castigo? (hablo como hombre.)
6 May it never be! For then how will God judge the world?
En ninguna manera: de otro modo, ¿cómo juzgaría Dios el mundo?
7 For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?
Porque si la verdad de Dios con mi mentira creció a gloria suya, ¿por qué aun también soy yo juzgado como pecador?
8 Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let’s do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.
Y no, (como somos infamados, y como algunos aseguran, que nosotros decimos, ) ¿Hagamos males para que vengan bienes? la condenación de los cuales es justa.
9 What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin.
¿Pues qué? ¿Somos nosotros mejores que ellos? En ninguna manera; porque ya hemos acusado a Judíos y a Gentiles, que todos están debajo de pecado,
10 As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one.
Como está escrito: No hay justo, ni aun solo uno:
11 There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.
No hay quien entienda, no hay quien busque a Dios.
12 They have all turned away. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.”
Todos se apartaron del camino de la justicia, a una se han hecho inútiles: no hay quien haga lo bueno, no hay ni aun uno solo.
13 “Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.” “The poison of vipers is under their lips.”
Sepulcro abierto es su garganta: con sus lenguas tratan engañosamente: veneno de áspides está debajo de sus labios:
14 “Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”
Cuya boca está llena de maledicencia, y de amargura:
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood.
Sus pies son ligeros para derramar sangre:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways.
Quebrantamiento y desventura hay en sus caminos:
17 The way of peace, they haven’t known.”
Y el camino de paz no conocieron:
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
No hay temor de Dios delante de sus ojos.
19 Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.
Empero ya sabemos, que todo lo que la ley dice, a los que están bajo la ley lo dice; para que toda boca se tape, y que todo el mundo se tenga por reo delante de Dios:
20 Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
Por tanto, por las obras de la ley ninguna carne se justificará delante de él; porque por la ley es el conocimiento del pecado.
21 But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets;
Empero ahora, la justicia de Dios sin la ley se ha manifestado, testificada por la ley, y por los profetas:
22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,
La justicia, digo, de Dios, que es por la fe de Jesu Cristo, para todos, y sobre todos los que creen en él; porque no hay diferencia;
23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;
Por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituidos de la gloria de Dios.
24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Siendo justificados gratuitamente por su gracia, por la redención que es en Jesu Cristo.
25 whom God sent to be an atoning sacrifice through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;
Al cual Dios ha propuesto por aplacamiento por la fe en su sangre, para manifestación de su justicia por la remisión de los pecados pasados, en la paciencia de Dios;
26 to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time, that he might himself be just and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.
Para manifestación de su justicia en este tiempo; para que él sea justo, y justificador del que cree en Jesús.
27 Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.
¿Dónde, pues, está la jactancia? Es echada fuera. ¿Por cuál ley? ¿De las obras? No: sino por la ley de la fe.
28 We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
Así que, concluimos ser el hombre justificado por fe sin las obras de la ley.
29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,
¿ Es Dios solamente Dios de los Judíos? ¿No es también Dios de los Gentiles? Cierto, él es también Dios de los Gentiles.
30 since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.
Porque un Dios es de todos, el cual justificará de la fe la circuncisión, y por la fe a la incircuncisión.
31 Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.
¿Luego deshacemos la ley por la fe? En ninguna manera: antes establecemos la ley.
