Romans 10
1 Brothers, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God is for Israel, that they may be saved.
Irmãos, o bom desejo do meu coração e a oração a Deus por Israel, é para sua salvação.
2 For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
Porque lhes dou testemunho de que têem zelo de Deus, mas não com entendimento.
3 For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, they didn’t subject themselves to the righteousness of God.
Porque, não conhecendo a justiça de Deus, e procurando estabelecer a sua propria justiça, não se sujeitaram á justiça de Deus.
4 For Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Porque o fim da lei é Christo para justiça de todo aquelle que crê.
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, “The one who does them will live by them.”
Porque Moysés descreve a justiça que é pela lei, dizendo: O homem que fizer estas coisas viverá por ellas.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith says this, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down);
Mas a justiça que é pela fé diz assim: Não digas em teu coração: Quem subirá ao céu? (isto é, a trazer do alto a Christo)
7 or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)” (Abyssos g12)
Ou, quem descerá ao abysmo? (isto é, a tornar a trazer, dos mortos a Christo). (Abyssos g12)
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;” that is, the word of faith which we preach:
Mas que diz? A palavra está junto de ti, na tua bocca e no teu coração; esta é a palavra da fé, que prégamos,
9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
A saber: Se com a tua bocca confessares ao Senhor Jesus, e em teu coração crêres que Deus o resuscitou dos mortos, serás salvo.
10 For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
Porque com o coração se crê para a justiça, e com a bocca se faz confissão para a salvação.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”
Porque a Escriptura diz: Todo aquelle que n'elle crêr não será confundido.
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.
Porque não ha differença entre judeo e grego; porque um mesmo é o Senhor de todos os que o invocam.
13 For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Porque todo aquelle que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo.
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?
Como pois invocarão aquelle em quem não creram? e como crerão n'aquelle de quem não ouviram? e como ouvirão, se não ha quem prégue?
15 And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Good News of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
E como prégarão, se não forem enviados? como está escripto: Quão formosos são os pés dos que annunciam a paz, dos que annunciam coisas boas!
16 But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
Mas nem todos obedecem ao evangelho; porque Isaias diz: Senhor, quem creu na nossa prégação?
17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
De sorte que a fé é pelo ouvir, e o ouvir pela palavra de Deus.
18 But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly, “Their sound went out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”
Mas digo: Porventura não ouviram? Sim, por certo, pois por toda a terra saiu o som d'elles, e as suas palavras até aos confins do mundo.
19 But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says, “I will provoke you to jealousy with that which is no nation. I will make you angry with a nation void of understanding.”
Mas digo: Porventura Israel não o conheceu? Primeiramente diz Moysés: Eu vos metterei em ciumes com aquelles que não são povo, com gente insensata vos provocarei á ira.
20 Isaiah is very bold and says, “I was found by those who didn’t seek me. I was revealed to those who didn’t ask for me.”
E Isaias se atreve, e diz: Fui achado pelos que me não buscavam, fui manifestado aos que por mim não perguntavam.
21 But about Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
Mas contra Israel diz: Todo o dia estendi as minhas mãos a um povo rebelde e contradizente.
