Revelation 21
1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.
Und ich sah einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde; denn der erste Himmel und die erste Erde waren vergangen, und das Meer ist nicht mehr.
2 I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
Und die heilige Stadt, das neue Jerusalem sah ich herabkommen aus dem Himmel von Gott, bereitet wie eine für ihren Mann geschmückte Braut,
3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
und ich hörte eine laute Stimme aus dem Thron heraus sprechen: Siehe, die Hütte Gottes bei den Menschen, und er wird bei ihnen wohnen, und sie werden seine Völker sein, und er, Gott wird mit ihnen sein.
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”
Und er wird abwischen alle Thränen von ihren Augen, und der Tod wird nicht mehr sein, noch Leid, noch Geschrei, noch Pein; denn das erste ist vergangen.
5 He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
Und der auf dem Throne saß, sprach: siehe, ich mache alles neu. Und er spricht: schreibe; denn diese Worte sind zuverläßig und wahrhaftig.
6 He said to me, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.
Und er sprach zu mir: es ist geschehen. Ich bin das Alpha und das O, der Anfang und das Ende. Ich will dem Dürstenden geben von der Quelle des Lebenswassers umsonst.
7 He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
Der Sieger soll es ererben, und ich will ihm Gott sein und er soll mir Sohn sein.
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls which were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
Und es kam einer von den sieben Engeln mit den sieben Schalen, die mit den letzten sieben Plagen gefüllt sind, und redete zu mir also: komm, ich will dir zeigen die Braut, das Weib des Lamms.
10 He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
Und er trug mich im Geiste auf einen großen und hohen Berg und zeigte mir die heilige Stadt Jerusalem, herabkommend aus dem Himmel von Gott her,
11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
mit der Herrlichkeit Gottes; ihr Glanz ist gleich wie der köstlichste Edelstein, wie ein Jaspis-Krystall.
12 having a great and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
Sie hat eine große und hohe Mauer und zwölf Thore, und auf den Thoren zwölf Engel, und Namen darauf geschrieben, nämlich die der zwölf Stämme der Söhne Israel.
13 On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.
Drei Thore von Osten, drei von Norden, drei von Süden, drei von Westen.
14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
Und die Mauer der Stadt hat zwölf Grundsteine, und darauf zwölf Namen der zwölf Apostel des Lamms.
15 He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.
Und der mit mir redete, hatte ein goldenes Meßrohr, um die Stadt und ihre Thore und ihre Mauer zu messen.
16 The city is square. Its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal.
Und die Stadt ist viereckig angelegt, und ihre Länge so groß wie die Breite. Und er maß die Stadt mit dem Rohr auf zwölftausend Stadien. Länge, Breite und Höhe sind gleich.
17 Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
Und er maß ihre Mauer zu einhundert vierundvierzig Ellen, Menschen- das heißt Engelmaß.
18 The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.
Und der Bau der Mauer ist von Jaspis, und die Stadt von reinem Gold, wie reines Glas.
19 The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire; the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
Die Grundsteine der Stadtmauer sind mit allerlei Edelsteinen verziert; der erste Grundstein ist Jaspis, der zweite Saphir, der dritte Chalcedon, der vierte Smaragd,
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
der fünfte Sardonyx, der sechste Sardion, der siebente Chrysolith, der achte Beryll, der neunte Topas, der zehnte Chrysopras, der elfte Hyacinth, der zwölfte Amethyst.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
Und die zwölf Thore sind zwölf Perlen, jedes von ihnen aus einer einzigen Perle, und die Gasse der Stadt reines Gold wie durchsichtiges Glas.
22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
Und einen Tempel sah ich nicht darin, denn der Herr Gott der Allbeherrscher ist ihr Tempel, und das Lamm.
23 The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb.
Und die Stadt bedarf nicht Sonne noch Mond, daß sie ihr scheinen; denn die Herrlichkeit Gottes hat sie erleuchtet, und das Lamm ist ihre Leuchte.
24 The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
Und die Nationen werden in ihrem Lichte wandeln, und die Könige der Erde bringen ihre Herrlichkeit zu ihr.
25 Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there),
Und ihre Thore sollen nimmermehr geschlossen werden am Tage, Nacht gibt es dort keine.
26 and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter.
Und man wird die Herrlichkeit und die Schätze der Nationen hineinbringen.
27 There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
Und Unreines wird nimmermehr hineinkommen; keiner der Greuel und Lüge thut, sondern nur die geschrieben sind im Lebensbuch des Lammes.
