Revelation 18
1 After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory.
Depois vi outro anjo, que tinha grande autoridade, descer do céu. A terra ficou brilhante, [pois ]ele brilhava intensamente.
2 He cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hated bird!
Ele gritou com voz forte: “[Deus está para ]destruir completamente [DOU] as grandes [cidades representadas por ]Babilônia. Consequentemente, todo tipo [de ]Espírito maligno [DOU] morará ali, e todo [tipo de ]pássaros imundos e detestáveis [DOU] habitarão ali.
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury.”
[Deus destruirá ]aquela cidade porque [os governantes dela persuadiram ]as pessoas de [MTY] todas as nações a se comportarem de uma forma muito imoral e [idólatra com os habitantes daquela cidade ][MET], [justamente como ]uma prostituta seduz os homens a beberem vinho forte e cometerem fornicação com ela. Os governantes da terra também agiram de forma imoral [e idólatra ]com os habitantes [MTY] daquela cidade. Os negociantes da terra se enriqueceram [porque os habitantes da Babilônia ]desejaram sobremaneira o luxo [do mundo]”.
4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues,
Ouvi [Cristo ]falar do céu. Ele disse: “Meu povo, fuja [daquela cidade], para não pecar como pecam os habitantes [daquela cidade. Se vocês pecarem como eles], vou castigá-los da mesmíssima forma.
5 for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.
[É como se os ]pecados deles fossem acumulados {se acumulassem}, chegando até o céu, e Deus se lembrasse deles [DOU], [portanto agora Ele precisa castigá-los ][MTY]”.
6 Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
[A voz gritou aos anjos designados por Deus para castigarem a Babilônia]: “Paguem aos habitantes daquela cidade da mesma forma como eles prejudicaram [as demais pessoas]. De fato, façam com que eles sofram duas vezes mais [o sofrimento que causaram às outras pessoas ][DOU, MET].
7 However much she glorified herself and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.’
À medida que eles se honraram e viveram de forma indulgente/segundo seu próprio beneplácito/querer, atormentem-nos e façam com que se aflijam! Pois eles pensam no seu interior: „Reinamos como rainhas! Não somos viúvas e nunca lamentaremos [como lamenta uma viúva]!‟
8 Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire, for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.
Portanto, em um só dia, virá sobre eles a calamidade. [Os habitantes da cidade ]morrerão, outros prantearão por eles e terão fome [porque não haverá comida]. E a cidade deles será consumido pelo fogo {O fogo consumirá a [cidade deles]}. O Senhor Deus pode castigar [assim ]a Babilônia, pois Ele é poderoso”.
9 The kings of the earth who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,
Os reis da terra que se comportaram imoralmente [com a Babilônia ]e viveram de forma indulgente com os habitantes daquela cidade chorarão e prantearão [DOU] o destino deles quando virem a fumaça do fogo que está consumindo a cidade.
10 standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.’
Eles se distanciarão [da Babilônia, ]pois têm medo [de sofrerem o mesmo destino que os habitantes da Babilônia ]estão sofrendo. Eles dirão: “Coisas terríveis acontecerão às grandes e poderosas cidades [representadas por ]Babilônia! [Deus ]vai castigá-las de repente e rapidamente [MTY]!
11 The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more:
Os comerciantes da terra chorarão e prantearão [DOU] [a Babilônia, ]pois nunca mais ninguém comprará as coisas que eles têm [para vender à Babilônia. ]
12 merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;
[Eles vendem adornos ]de ouro, de prata, de pedras preciosas e de pérolas. Vendem [tecidos caros feitos de ]linho fino e seda, [tecidos caros tingidos de ]púrpura e escarlate. [Vendem ]todo tipo de madeira [preciosa, ]toda espécie de ítens [feitos ]de marfim, de madeira cara, de bronze, de ferro e de mármore. Vendem canela, especiarias, perfumes, incenso, vinho, azeite, farinha fina e grãos de trigo. Vendem gado, ovelhas, cavalos e carruagens. Vendem até seres humanos, [SYN, DOU] tornados escravos.
13 and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, horses, chariots, and people’s bodies and souls.
14 The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you. All things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.
[Os comerciantes dirão: ]“As coisas boas que vocês habitantes da Babilônia tanto desejavam não existem mais”! Vocês perderam todo o luxo e todas as [coisas ]suntuosas [DOU]! Nunca mais [LIT] se encontram tais coisas!”
15 The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,
Estes comerciantes [que venderam ]esses objetos e se tornaram ricos, [fornecendo-os ]à sua cidade, ficarão agora longe da cidade, pois têm medo [de sofrer como ]estão sofrendo os habitantes [da Babilônia. ]Eles chorarão e lamentarão [DOU].
16 saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!
Eles dirão: “Aconteceram coisas terríveis à grande cidade! [Ela era como uma rainha ][MET] vestida de [roupas de ][MTY] linho fino e tecidos caros, tingidos de púrpura e escarlata, e que foi enfeitada {que se enfeitava} de ouro, pedras preciosas e pérolas.
17 For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.’ Every ship master, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,
Mas de repente e rapidamente [MTY], esses objetos caros foram destruídos {[Deus ]destruiu esses objetos caros}”. Todo capitão de navio, todos aqueles que viajam de navio, todos os marinheiros e todos os outros que ganham a vida [em viagens ]marítimas se distanciarão [da cidade. ]
18 and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like the great city?’
Eles gritarão ao ver a fumaça do fogo que está devorando a cidade e dirão: “Nenhuma [outra ]cidade jamais/Será que qualquer outra cidade [RHQ] foi tão grande!”
19 They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!’ For she is made desolate in one hour.
Eles jogarão poeira na cabeça [em sinal de mágoa, ]bradarão, chorarão e prantearão [DOU], dizendo: “Aconteceram coisas terríveis à grande cidade, a cidade por meio da qual todos os donos de navios para [viagens ]marítimas ficaram ricos, [carregando ]suas mercadorias caras! Aquela cidade foi destruído de repente e rapidamente {[Deus ]destruiu [a Babilônia ]de repente e rapidamente!} [MTY]”.
20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets, for God has judged your judgment on her.”
[Então ]alguém falou do [céu, dizendo: ]“Vocês [que moram no ]céu, alegrem-se por causa [daquilo que aconteceu ]à Babilônia! Vocês que são povo de Deus, [inclusive ]os apóstolos e profetas, alegrem-se, [pois ]Deus castigou merecidamente [os habitantes da Babilônia ]por [terem pecado ]contra vocês!”
21 A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all.
Um poderoso anjo levantou uma pedra, do tamanho de uma pedra de moinho, e a jogou no mar. Então ele disse: “Ó, grande cidade de Babilônia, sua cidade será destruída para que ela desapareça da mesma maneira que a pedra desapareceu no mar! [Consequentemente, ]você não existirá nunca mais [LIT].
22 The voice of harpists, minstrels, flute players, and trumpeters will be heard no more at all in you. No craftsman of whatever craft will be found any more at all in you. The sound of a mill will be heard no more at all in you.
Na sua cidade nunca mais se ouvirá o som dos harpistas, cantores, flautistas e trombeteiros. Já não haverá artesãos de nenhuma indústria na sua [cidade]. Na sua [cidade ]nunca mais se ouvirá o barulho daqueles que [moem grãos ][MTY] [ao ]moinho.
23 The light of a lamp will shine no more at all in you. The voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will be heard no more at all in you, for your merchants were the princes of the earth; for with your sorcery all the nations were deceived.
Nunca mais brilhará a luz das lâmpadas na sua [cidade. ]Na sua [cidade ]não se ouvirá mais as vozes [felizes ]de noivos e noivas. [Deus destruirá sua cidade], pois seus comerciantes foram os homens mais mentirosos do mundo. Você os persuadiu a enganar [os habitantes de ][MTY] todas as nações.
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth.”
Você é também [responsável por ter matado e derramado ][MTY] o sangue dos profetas e [outros ]membros do povo de Deus. De fato, você é culpada da morte de todos aqueles que foram mortos {que [outras ]pessoas mataram} na terra!”
