Revelation 16
1 I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God on the earth!”
Alors j'entendis une voix forte qui sortait du sanctuaire, et qui disait aux sept anges: «Allez, et versez sur la terre les sept coupes de la colère de Dieu.»
2 The first went, and poured out his bowl into the earth, and it became a harmful and painful sore on the people who had the mark of the beast, and who worshiped his image.
Le premier ange partit, et répandit sa coupe sur la terre: et un ulcère malin et douloureux frappa les hommes qui avaient la marque de la bête, et ceux qui en adoraient l'image.
3 The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood as of a dead man. Every living thing in the sea died.
Le second ange répandit sa coupe dans la mer; et la mer devint comme le sang d'un mort, et tout être vivant qui était dans la mer, mourut.
4 The third poured out his bowl into the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood.
Le troisième répandit sa coupe dans les fleuves et dans les sources d'eau; et les eaux furent changées en sang.
5 I heard the angel of the waters saying, “You are righteous, who are and who were, O Holy One, because you have judged these things.
Alors j'entendis l'ange des eaux qui disait: «Tu es juste, ô toi qui es et qui étais; tu es saint, d'avoir rendu ce jugement:
6 For they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink. They deserve this.”
ils ont versé le sang des saints et des prophètes, et tu leur as donné du sang à boire: ils en sont dignes.»
7 I heard the altar saying, “Yes, Lord God, the Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.”
Et j'entendis l'autel qui disait: «Oui, Seigneur, Dieu tout-puissant, tes jugements sont véritables et justes.»
8 The fourth poured out his bowl on the sun, and it was given to him to scorch men with fire.
Le quatrième répandit sa coupe sur le soleil, et il lui fut donné de brûler les hommes par le feu:
9 People were scorched with great heat, and people blasphemed the name of God who has the power over these plagues. They didn’t repent and give him glory.
et les hommes furent frappés d'une chaleur brûlante, ils blasphémèrent le nom de Dieu qui dispose de ces fléaux, et ils ne se repentirent point pour lui rendre gloire.
10 The fifth poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was darkened. They gnawed their tongues because of the pain,
Le cinquième ange répandit sa coupe sur le trône de la bête; et le royaume de la bête fut plongé dans les ténèbres; les hommes se mordaient la langue de douleur;
11 and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores. They still didn’t repent of their works.
et ils blasphémèrent le Dieu du ciel, à cause de leurs tourments et de leurs ulcères; et ils ne se repentirent point de leurs oeuvres.
12 The sixth poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates. Its water was dried up, that the way might be prepared for the kings that come from the sunrise.
Le sixième répandit sa coupe sur le grand fleuve de l'Euphrate; et les eaux en furent desséchées, afin de livrer passage aux rois qui venaient de l'Orient.
13 I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits, something like frogs;
Et je vis sortir de la gueule du dragon, et de la gueule de la bête, et de la bouche du faux-prophète, trois esprits impurs semblables à des crapauds.
14 for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole inhabited earth, to gather them together for the war of that great day of God the Almighty.
Ce sont, en effet, des esprits de démons, qui font des prodiges et qui vont rassembler les rois de l'univers entier pour la bataille du grand jour du Dieu tout-puissant.
15 “Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his clothes, so that he doesn’t walk naked, and they see his shame.”
(«Voici, je viens comme un voleur. Heureux celui qui veille et qui conserve ses vêtements, afin de ne pas aller nu et de ne pas laisser voir sa honte!»)
16 He gathered them together into the place which is called in Hebrew, “Harmagedon”.
— Et ces esprits rassemblèrent les rois en un lieu nommé en hébreu, «Harmagédon.»
17 The seventh poured out his bowl into the air. A loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!”
Le septième ange répandit sa coupe sur l'atmosphère; et il sortit du sanctuaire du ciel, du trône même, une voix forte qui disait: «C'en est fait!»
18 There were lightnings, sounds, and thunders; and there was a great earthquake such as has not happened since there were men on the earth—so great an earthquake and so mighty.
Et il y eut des éclairs, des bruits, des tonnerres; il se fit un tremblement de terre tel qu'il n'y en a jamais eu un semblable depuis qu'il y a des hommes sur la terre;
19 The great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
la grande ville se partagea en trois, et les villes des nations croulèrent: et Dieu se souvint de Babylone la grande, pour lui faire boire la coupe pleine du vin de son ardente colère.
20 Every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
Toutes les îles disparurent, et l'on ne retrouva plus de montagnes.
21 Great hailstones, about the weight of a talent, came down out of the sky on people. People blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, for this plague was exceedingly severe.
Une forte grêle, dont les grêlons pouvaient peser un talent, tomba du ciel sur les hommes; et les hommes blasphémèrent Dieu à cause du fléau de la grêle, parce que ses dégâts étaient immenses.
