Revelation 12
1 A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
Un grand signe apparut dans le ciel: une femme enveloppée du soleil, la lune sous ses pieds, et sur sa tête une couronne de douze étoiles.
2 She was with child. She cried out in pain, laboring to give birth.
Elle était enceinte. Elle poussa des cris de douleur en travaillant pour accoucher.
3 Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.
Un autre signe apparut dans le ciel. Voici, c'était un grand dragon rouge, ayant sept têtes et dix cornes, et sur ses têtes sept couronnes.
4 His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
Sa queue attirait le tiers des étoiles du ciel, et les jetait sur la terre. Le dragon se tint devant la femme qui allait accoucher, afin que, lorsqu'elle accoucherait, il dévorât son enfant.
5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God and to his throne.
Elle donna naissance à un fils, un enfant mâle, qui doit dominer toutes les nations avec une verge de fer. Son enfant a été enlevé vers Dieu et vers son trône.
6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days.
La femme s'est enfuie dans le désert, où elle a un lieu préparé par Dieu, afin qu'on l'y nourrisse pendant mille deux cent soixante jours.
7 There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the dragon. The dragon and his angels made war.
Il y eut une guerre dans le ciel. Michel et ses anges firent la guerre au dragon. Le dragon et ses anges firent la guerre.
8 They didn’t prevail. No place was found for them any more in heaven.
Ils ne furent pas vainqueurs. On ne leur trouva plus de place dans le ciel.
9 The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
Le grand dragon fut précipité, le serpent ancien, celui qu'on appelle le diable et Satan, le séducteur du monde entier. Il fut précipité sur la terre, et ses anges furent précipités avec lui.
10 I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
J'entendis dans le ciel une voix forte qui disait: Maintenant le salut, la puissance, le règne de notre Dieu et l'autorité de son Christ sont arrivés; car il a été précipité, l'accusateur de nos frères, qui les accusait devant notre Dieu jour et nuit.
11 They overcame him because of the Lamb’s blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.
Ils l'ont vaincu à cause du sang de l'Agneau, et à cause de la parole de leur témoignage. Ils n'ont pas aimé leur vie, même jusqu'à la mort.
12 Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”
C'est pourquoi réjouissez-vous, cieux, et vous qui les habitez. Malheur à la terre et à la mer, parce que le diable est descendu vers vous, animé d'une grande colère, sachant qu'il n'a qu'un temps très court. »
13 When the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
Le dragon, voyant qu'il était précipité sur la terre, persécuta la femme qui avait donné naissance à l'enfant mâle.
14 Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
Les deux ailes du grand aigle furent données à la femme pour qu'elle s'envole dans le désert vers son lieu de résidence, afin qu'elle soit nourrie pendant un temps, des temps, et la moitié d'un temps, loin de la face du serpent.
15 The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.
Le serpent fit jaillir de sa bouche de l'eau après la femme, comme un fleuve, afin qu'elle soit emportée par le courant.
16 The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon spewed out of his mouth.
La terre aida la femme, et la terre ouvrit sa bouche et engloutit le fleuve que le dragon avait fait jaillir de sa bouche.
17 The dragon grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep God’s commandments and hold Jesus’ testimony.
Le dragon s'irrita contre la femme et s'en alla faire la guerre au reste de sa descendance, qui garde les commandements de Dieu et retient le témoignage de Jésus.
