Psalms 16
1 A Poem by David. Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you.
Orazione di Davide GUARDAMI, o Dio; perciocchè io mi confido in te.
2 My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.”
Io ho detto all'Eterno: Tu [sei] il mio Signore; Io non ho bene all'infuori di te.
3 As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
Tutta la mia affezione [è] inverso i santi che sono in terra, E [inverso] gli [uomini] onorati.
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
I tormenti di coloro che corrono [dietro ad] altri [dii], saran moltiplicati; Io non farò le loro offerte da spandere, [che son] di sangue; E non mi recherò nelle labbra i nomi loro.
5 Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.
Il Signore [è] la porzione della mia parte, e il mio calice; Tu, [Signore], mantieni quello che mi [è] scaduto in sorte.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance.
La sorte mi [è] scaduta in [luoghi] dilettevoli; Una bella eredità mi è pur toccata.
7 I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Io benedirò il Signore, il qual mi consiglia; Eziandio le notti le mie reni mi ammaestrano.
8 I have set Yahweh always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Io ho sempre posto il Signore davanti agli occhi miei; Perciocchè egli [è] alla mia destra, io non sarò giammai smosso.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Perciò il mio cuore si rallegra, e la mia lingua festeggia; Anzi pur la mia carne abiterà in sicurtà.
10 For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Perciocchè tu non lascerai l'anima mia nel sepolcro, [E] non permetterai che il tuo Santo senta la corruzione della fossa. (Sheol h7585)
11 You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
Tu mi mostrerai il sentier della vita; Sazietà d'ogni gioia [è] col tuo volto; Ogni diletto [è] nella tua destra in sempiterno.
