Psalms 10
1 Why do you stand far off, Yahweh? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
HERR, warum trittst du so ferne, verbirgest dich zur Zeit der Not?
2 In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.
Weil der Gottlose Übermut treibet, muß der Elende leiden. Sie hängen sich aneinander und erdenken böse Tücke.
3 For the wicked boasts of his heart’s cravings. He blesses the greedy and condemns Yahweh.
Denn der Gottlose rühmet sich seines Mutwillens, und der Geizige segnet sich und lästert den HERRN.
4 The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God.
Der Gottlose ist so stolz und zornig, daß er nach niemand fraget; in allen seinen Tücken hält er Gott für nichts.
5 His ways are prosperous at all times. He is arrogant, and your laws are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.
Er fähret fort mit seinem Tun immerdar; deine Gerichte sind ferne von ihm; er handelt trotzig mit allen seinen Feinden.
6 He says in his heart, “I shall not be shaken. For generations I shall have no trouble.”
Er spricht in seinem Herzen: Ich werde nimmermehr daniederliegen; es wird für und für keine Not haben.
7 His mouth is full of cursing, deceit, and oppression. Under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.
Sein Mund ist voll Fluchens, Falsches und Trugs; seine Zunge richtet Mühe und Arbeit an.
8 He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.
Er sitzt und lauert in den Höfen; er erwürget die Unschuldigen heimlich; seine Augen halten auf die Armen.
9 He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless when he draws him in his net.
Er lauert im Verborgenen, wie ein Löwe in der Höhle; er lauert, daß er den Elenden erhasche, und erhaschet ihn, wenn er ihn in sein Netz zeucht.
10 The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.
Er zerschlägt und drücket nieder und stößt zu Boden den Armen mit Gewalt.
11 He says in his heart, “God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.”
Er spricht in seinem Herzen: Gott hat's vergessen; er hat sein Antlitz verborgen, er wird's nimmermehr sehen.
12 Arise, Yahweh! God, lift up your hand! Don’t forget the helpless.
Stehe auf, HERR Gott, erhebe deine Hand; vergiß der Elenden nicht!
13 Why does the wicked person condemn God, and say in his heart, “God won’t call me into account”?
Warum soll der Gottlose Gott lästern und in seinem Herzen sprechen: Du fragst nicht danach?
14 But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.
Du siehest ja, denn du schauest das Elend und Jammer; es stehet in deinen Händen. Die Armen befehlen's dir; du bist der Waisen Helfer.
15 Break the arm of the wicked. As for the evil man, seek out his wickedness until you find none.
Zerbrich den Arm des Gottlosen und suche das Böse, so wird man sein gottlos Wesen nimmer finden.
16 Yahweh is King forever and ever! The nations will perish out of his land.
Der HERR ist König immer und ewiglich; die Heiden müssen aus seinem Land umkommen.
17 Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,
Das Verlangen der Elenden hörest du, HERR; ihr Herz ist gewiß, daß dein Ohr drauf merket,
18 to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that man who is of the earth may terrify no more.
daß du Recht schaffest dem Waisen und Armen, daß der Mensch nicht mehr trotze auf Erden.
