Proverbs 24
1 Don’t be envious of evil men, neither desire to be with them;
১যে খারাপ তার ওপরে ঈর্ষান্বিত হয়ো না, তাদের সঙ্গে থাকতেও ইচ্ছা কর না।
2 for their hearts plot violence and their lips talk about mischief.
২কারণ তাদের হৃদয় অনিষ্টের পরিকল্পনা করে এবং তাদের ঠোঁট বিপদের বিষয়ে কথা বলে।
3 Through wisdom a house is built; by understanding it is established;
৩প্রজ্ঞার মাধ্যমে বাড়ি নির্মাণ হয় এবং বুদ্ধির মাধ্যমে তা প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়;
4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all rare and beautiful treasure.
৪জ্ঞানের মাধ্যমে ঘরগুলি সব পরিপূর্ণ হয়, মূল্যবান ও সুন্দর সমস্ত সম্পদে।
5 A wise man has great power. A knowledgeable man increases strength,
৫সাহসী লোক বলবান কিন্তু যার জ্ঞান আছে সে এক জন শক্তিশালী লোকের থেকে ভালো।
6 for by wise guidance you wage your war, and victory is in many advisors.
৬কারণ সুবিবেচনার নির্দেশে তুমি যুদ্ধ চালাবে এবং অনেকের উপদেশে বিজয় হয়।
7 Wisdom is too high for a fool. He doesn’t open his mouth in the gate.
৭বোকার জন্য প্রজ্ঞা খুব উঁচু; সে দরজায় তার মুখ খোলে না।
8 One who plots to do evil will be called a schemer.
৮যে মন্দের পরিকল্পনা করে, লোকে তাকে পরিকল্পনাকারীর গুরু বলবে।
9 The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
৯অজ্ঞানতার পরিকল্পনা পাপময় এবং লোকেরা উপহাসককে তুচ্ছ করে।
10 If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small.
১০বিপদের দিনের যদি কাপুরুষতা দেখাও, তবে তোমার শক্তি সামান্য।
11 Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!
১১তাদেরকে উদ্ধার কর, যারা মৃত্যুর কাছ থেকে সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে, যারা বধের জন্য কম্পমান হয় তুমি তাদেরকে পিছনে ধরে রাখো।
12 If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this,” doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?
১২যদি বল, “দেখ, আমরা এই বিষয়ে জানতাম না,” তবে যিনি হৃদয় ওজন করেন, তিনি কি তা বোঝেন না যা তুমি বলছ? এবং যিনি তোমার প্রাণ রক্ষা করেন, তিনি কি তা জানেন না? এবং তিনি কি প্রত্যেককে তার কাজ অনুযায়ী পুরষ্কার দেবেন না?
13 My son, eat honey, for it is good, the droppings of the honeycomb, which are sweet to your taste;
১৩আমার পুত্র, মধু খাও, কারণ তা ভালো, কারণ মধুর চাকের ক্ষরণ তোমার স্বাদে মিষ্টি লাগে;
14 so you shall know wisdom to be to your soul. If you have found it, then there will be a reward: Your hope will not be cut off.
১৪তোমার প্রাণের জন্যে প্রজ্ঞা তেমন; যদি তুমি এটা খুঁজে পাও, তা ভবিষ্যতে হবে এবং তোমার আশা উছিন্ন হবে না।
15 Don’t lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don’t destroy his resting place;
১৫দুষ্টের মতো অপেক্ষা করে বসে থেকো না, যে ধার্ম্মিকের বাড়িতে আক্রমণ করে। তার ঘর ধ্বংস কর না।
16 for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.
১৬কারণ ধার্মিক সাত বার পড়লেও সে আবার ওঠে; কিন্তু দুষ্টেরা বিপর্যয়ের দ্বারা পরাজিত হবে।
17 Don’t rejoice when your enemy falls. Don’t let your heart be glad when he is overthrown,
১৭তোমার শত্রুর পতনে আনন্দ কর না এবং সে হোঁচট খেলে তোমার হৃদয় উল্লাসিত না হোক;
18 lest Yahweh see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.
১৮অথবা সদাপ্রভু দেখবেন এবং অগ্রাহ্য করবেন এবং তার থেকে তার ক্রোধ সরিয়ে নেন।
19 Don’t fret yourself because of evildoers, neither be envious of the wicked;
১৯যারা খারাপ কাজ করে তাদের কারণে তুমি বিরক্ত হয়ো না এবং দুষ্টদের প্রতি ঈর্ষা কর না।
20 for there will be no reward to the evil man. The lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.
২০কারণ খারাপ লোকের কোনো ভবিষ্যত নেই এবং দুষ্টদের বাতি নিভে যাবে।
21 My son, fear Yahweh and the king. Don’t join those who are rebellious,
২১আমার পুত্র, সদাপ্রভুকে ভয় কর এবং রাজাকে ভয় কর, যারা তাদের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করে তাদের সঙ্গে যোগ দিও না;
22 for their calamity will rise suddenly. Who knows what destruction may come from them both?
২২কারণ হঠাৎ তাদের বিপদ আসবে এবং উভয়ের দ্বারা যে ধ্বংসের বিস্তার হবে তা কে জানে?
23 These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judgment is not good.
২৩এইগুলিও জ্ঞানবানদের উক্তি। বিচারে পক্ষপাত করা ভাল নয়।
24 He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” peoples will curse him, and nations will abhor him—
২৪যে দুষ্টকে বলে, “তুমি ধার্মিক,” লোকদের দ্বারা অভিশপ্ত এবং জাতির দ্বারা ঘৃণিত হবে।
25 but it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and a rich blessing will come on them.
২৫কিন্তু যারা তাকে তিরষ্কার করে, তারা আনন্দিত হবে এবং তাদের প্রতি ধার্মিকতার উপহার আসবে।
26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.
২৬যে ব্যক্তি সৎ উত্তর দেয়, সে ঠোঁটে চুম্বন দেয়।
27 Prepare your work outside, and get your fields ready. Afterwards, build your house.
২৭বাইরে তোমার কাজ প্রস্তুত কর এবং ক্ষেত্রে নিজের জন্য সব প্রস্তুত কর এবং পরে তোমার ঘর নির্মাণ কর।
28 Don’t be a witness against your neighbor without cause. Don’t deceive with your lips.
২৮অকারণে তোমার প্রতিবেশীর বিরুদ্ধে সাক্ষী হয়ো না; এবং তুমি কি ঠোঁটের দ্বারা প্রতারণা কর না?
29 Don’t say, “I will do to him as he has done to me; I will repay the man according to his work.”
২৯বল না, “সে আমার প্রতি যেমন করেছে, আমিও তার প্রতি তেমনি করব; যা সে করেছে আমি তার ফল ফিরিয়ে দেব।”
30 I went by the field of the sluggard, by the vineyard of the man void of understanding.
৩০আমি অলসের ক্ষেতের কাছ দিয়ে গেলাম, নির্বোধের দ্রাক্ষাক্ষেতের কাছ দিয়ে গেলাম;
31 Behold, it was all grown over with thorns. Its surface was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down.
৩১সব জায়গার কাঁটাবন বেড়ে উঠেছে, ভূমি বিছুটিতে ঢাকা রয়েছে এবং তার পাথরের পাঁচিল ভেঙে গিয়েছে।
32 Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:
৩২আমি দেখলাম এবং বিবেচনা করলাম, তা দেখলাম এবং উপদেশ গ্রহণ করলাম;
33 a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep,
৩৩আর একটু ঘুম, আর একটু তন্দ্রা, আর একটু শুয়ে হাত ভাঁজ করব,
34 so your poverty will come as a robber and your want as an armed man.
৩৪এবং তোমার দরিদ্রতা ডাকাতের মতো আসবে, তোমার প্রয়োজনীয়তা সশস্ত্র সৈনিকের মতো আসবে।
