Philippians 2
1 If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,
Si tenéis, pues, ( para mí ) alguna consolación en Cristo algún consuelo de caridad, alguna comunicación de Espíritu, alguna ternura y misericordia,
2 make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
poned el colmo a mi gozo, siendo de un mismo sentir, teniendo un mismo amor, un mismo espíritu, un mismo pensamiento.
3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;
No hagáis nada por emulación ni por vanagloria, sino con humilde corazón, considerando los unos a los otros como superiores,
4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
no mirando cada uno por su propia ventaja, sino por la de los demás.
5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
Tened en vuestros corazones los mismos sentimientos que tuvo Cristo Jesús;
6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,
el cual, siendo su naturaleza la de Dios, no miró como botín el ser igual a Dios,
7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
sino que se despojó a sí mismo, tomando la forma de siervo, hecho semejante a los hombres. Y hallándose en la condición de hombre
8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
se humilló a sí mismo, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de Cruz.
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,
Por eso Dios le sobreensalzó y le dio el nombre que es sobre todo nombre,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
para que toda rodilla en el cielo, en la tierra y debajo de la tierra se doble en el nombre de Jesús,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
y toda lengua confiese que Jesucristo es Señor, para gloria de Dios Padre.
12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Así, pues, amados míos, de la misma manera como siempre obedecisteis, obrad vuestra salud con temor y temblor, no solo como cuando estaba yo presente, sino mucho más ahora en mi ausencia;
13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
porque Dios es el que, por su benevolencia, obra en vosotros tanto el querer como el hacer.
14 Do all things without complaining and arguing,
Haced todas las cosas sin murmuraciones ni disputas,
15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,
para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin mancha, en medio de una generación torcida y perversa, entre los cuales resplandecéis como antorchas en el mundo,
16 holding up the word of life, that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ that I didn’t run in vain nor labor in vain.
al presentarles la palabra de vida, a fin de que pueda yo gloriarme para el día de Cristo de no haber corrido en vano ni haberme en vano afanado.
17 Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
Y aun cuando se derrame mi sangre como libación sobre el sacrificio y culto de vuestra fe, me gozo y me congratulo con todos vosotros.
18 In the same way, you also should be glad and rejoice with me.
Gozaos asimismo vosotros y congratulaos conmigo.
19 But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.
Espero en el Señor Jesús enviaros pronto a Timoteo, para que yo también tenga buen ánimo al saber de vosotros.
20 For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.
Pues a ninguno tengo tan concorde conmigo, que se interese por vosotros tan sinceramente,
21 For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
porque todos buscan lo de ellos mismos, no lo que es de Cristo Jesús.
22 But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
Vosotros conocéis la prueba que ha dado, como que, cual hijo al lado de su padre, ha servido conmigo para propagación del Evangelio.
23 Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.
A este, pues, espero enviar tan pronto como vea yo la marcha de mis asuntos.
24 But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.
Y aún confío en el Señor que yo mismo podré ir en breve.
25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need,
Entretanto he juzgado necesario enviaros a Epafrodito, mi hermano, colaborador y compañero de armas, vuestro mensajero y ministro en mis necesidades;
26 since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.
pues añoraba a todos vosotros, y estaba desconsolado por cuanto habíais oído de su enfermedad.
27 For indeed he was sick nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
Estuvo realmente enfermo y a punto de morir, pero Dios tuvo misericordia de él, y no tan solo de él, sino también de mí, para que no tuviese yo tristeza sobre tristeza.
28 I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
Lo envío por eso con mayor premura para que, al verle de nuevo, os alegréis y yo me quede sin más pena.
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such people in honor,
Acogedle, pues, en el Señor con todo gozo, y tened en estima a los que son como él,
30 because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
puesto que por la obra de Cristo llegó hasta la muerte, poniendo en peligro su vida, para suplir lo que faltaba de vuestra parte en mi ministerio.
