Philippians 2
1 If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,
Portanto, se vocês se sentem encorajados por estarem com Cristo, confortados por seu amor, estando em comunhão com o Espírito de Deus e demonstrando compaixão e apoio,
2 make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;
então, façam com que a minha alegria fique completa, tendo o mesmo pensamento e o mesmo amor, estando espiritualmente unidos por um único propósito.
3 doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;
Não façam nada movidos por um espírito de egoísmo ou de orgulho; pensem de forma humilde e considerem os outros superiores a si mesmos.
4 each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others.
Nenhum de vocês deve se preocupar apenas com o que for do seu interesse. Pelo contrário, cuidem também dos interesses dos outros.
5 Have this in your mind, which was also in Christ Jesus,
A atitude que vocês devem ter é a mesma que Cristo Jesus teve.
6 who, existing in the form of God, didn’t consider equality with God a thing to be grasped,

7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men.
Em vez disso, ele se esvaziou, tomando a natureza de um servo, tornando-se semelhante a um ser humano.
8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, yes, the death of the cross.
Ao vir para nós, humildemente como um homem, ele se submeteu à morte, até mesmo à morte na cruz.
9 Therefore God also highly exalted him, and gave to him the name which is above every name,
E é por isso que Deus o colocou em uma posição de grande honra e poder e lhe deu o nome de maior importância,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth,
para que ao nome de Jesus, todos se curvem em respeito, seja no céu, na terra ou até mesmo abaixo dela
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
e para que todos declarem que Jesus Cristo é o Senhor, para a glória de Deus, o Pai.
12 So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Então, meus queridos amigos, continuem a trabalhar para o objetivo da salvação, com total reverência e respeito por Deus, seguindo sempre o que lhes foi dito, não apenas quando eu estava aí com vocês, mas até mesmo agora que estou longe.
13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Pois é Deus quem está trabalhando com vocês, criando o querer e a habilidade para que vocês façam conforme a vontade dele.
14 Do all things without complaining and arguing,
Façam tudo sem reclamações ou questionamentos,
15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without defect in the middle of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world,
pois assim serão sinceros e inocentes de qualquer erro. Sejam filhos de Deus, vivendo sem culpa alguma no meio de pessoas desonestas e corruptas. Brilhem entre eles como luzes para o mundo,
16 holding up the word of life, that I may have something to boast in the day of Christ that I didn’t run in vain nor labor in vain.
oferecendo a eles a palavra que traz vida. Assim, terei algo de que me orgulhar quando Jesus voltar, provando que eu não andei por aí trabalhando por nada!
17 Yes, and if I am poured out on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
Então, mesmo que eu dê a minha vida em sacrifício para que vocês possam crer em Deus, eu fico feliz por isso e também fico feliz junto com todos vocês,
18 In the same way, you also should be glad and rejoice with me.
exatamente como demonstram toda a sua alegria por estarem comigo.
19 But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered up when I know how you are doing.
Espero, se essa for a vontade do Senhor Jesus, poder enviar Timóteo o mais rápido possível até vocês. Eu ficarei muito animado quando souber como vocês estão.
20 For I have no one else like-minded, who will truly care about you.
Eu não conheço alguém que se importe tanto com vocês como Timóteo.
21 For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.
Outras pessoas apenas se preocupam com os seus próprios interesses e, não, com os interesses de Jesus Cristo.
22 But you know that he has proved himself. As a child serves a father, so he served with me in furtherance of the Good News.
Mas, vocês já sabem como ele é, exatamente como um filho, trabalhando para ajudar o seu pai e, assim, Timóteo trabalhou comigo para anunciar o evangelho.
23 Therefore I hope to send him at once, as soon as I see how it will go with me.
Então, espero enviá-lo até vocês logo que eu saiba como as coisas ficarão aqui para mim.
24 But I trust in the Lord that I myself also will come shortly.
E eu tenho fé no Senhor de que em breve eu também poderei ir visitá-los.
25 But I thought it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker, fellow soldier, and your apostle and servant of my need,
Mas, achei importante enviar Epafrodito para vocês. Ele é um irmão para mim, meu companheiro no anúncio do evangelho e de tantas lutas. Foi ele quem vocês me enviaram para me ajudar,
26 since he longed for you all, and was very troubled because you had heard that he was sick.
e ele sente muita saudade de todos vocês. Ele também está preocupado por vocês terem sabido que ele ficou doente.
27 For indeed he was sick nearly to death, but God had mercy on him, and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow on sorrow.
Sim, ele realmente esteve doente, quase morreu, mas Deus teve pena dele. Não apenas dele, mas de mim também, para que as tragédias não acontecessem em minha vida uma após a outra.
28 I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that when you see him again, you may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
É por isso que estou tão disposto a mandá-lo. Assim, quando vocês o virem, ficarão felizes e eu não ficarei tão ansioso.
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and hold such people in honor,
Então, recebam Epafrodito com muita alegria no Senhor e respeitem pessoas como ele,
30 because for the work of Christ he came near to death, risking his life to supply that which was lacking in your service toward me.
pois ele quase morreu ao trabalhar para Cristo. Ele colocou a vida em perigo para compensar a ajuda que vocês não podiam me dar.
