< Matthew 6 >

1 “Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
“Ẹ kíyèsára kí ẹ má ṣe iṣẹ́ rere yín níwájú àwọn ènìyàn nítorí kí a le rí yín, Bí ẹ bá ṣe bẹ́ẹ̀, ẹ̀yin kò ni èrè kankan lọ́dọ̀ Baba yín ní ọ̀run.
2 Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
“Nítorí náà, nígbà ti ẹ́ bá ti ń fún aláìní, ẹ má ṣe fi fèrè kéde rẹ̀, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn àgàbàgebè ti í ṣe ní Sinagọgu àti ní ìta gbangba; kí àwọn ènìyàn le yìn wọ́n. Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, wọ́n ti gba èrè tí wọn ní kíkún.
3 But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ìwọ bá ń fi fún aláìní, má ṣe jẹ́ kí ọwọ́ òsì rẹ mọ ohun tí ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ ń ṣe,
4 so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
kí ìfúnni rẹ má ṣe jẹ́ mí mọ̀. Nígbà náà ni Baba rẹ̀, tí ó sì mọ ohun ìkọ̀kọ̀ gbogbo, yóò san án fún ọ.
5 “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
“Nígbà tí ìwọ bá ń gbàdúrà, má ṣe ṣe bí àwọn àgàbàgebè, nítorí wọn fẹ́ràn láti máa dúró gbàdúrà ní Sinagọgu àti ní ẹ̀gbẹ́ ọ̀nà tí ènìyàn ti lè rí wọ́n. Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín, wọ́n ti gba èrè wọn ní kíkún.
6 But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ìwọ bá ń gbàdúrà, wọ inú iyàrá rẹ lọ, sé ìlẹ̀kùn mọ́ ara rẹ, gbàdúrà sí Baba rẹ ẹni tí ìwọ kò rí. Nígbà náà ni Baba rẹ tí ó mọ gbogbo ohun ìkọ̀kọ̀ rẹ, yóò san án fún ọ.
7 In praying, don’t use vain repetitions as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà ti ẹ̀yin bá ń gbàdúrà, ẹ má ṣe àtúnwí asán bí àwọn aláìkọlà, nítorí wọn rò pé a ó tìtorí ọ̀pọ̀ ọ̀rọ̀ gbọ́ tiwọn.
8 Therefore don’t be like them, for your Father knows what things you need before you ask him.
Ẹ má ṣe dàbí i wọn, nítorí Baba yín tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run mọ ohun tí ẹ ṣe aláìní, kí ẹ tilẹ̀ tó béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀.
9 Pray like this: “‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
“Nítorí náà, báyìí ni kí ẹ ṣe máa gbàdúrà: “‘Baba wa tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run, ọ̀wọ̀ fún orúkọ yín,
10 Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
kí ìjọba yín dé, ìfẹ́ tiyín ni kí a ṣe ní ayé bí ti ọ̀run.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
Ẹ fún wa ní oúnjẹ òòjọ́ wa lónìí.
12 Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
Ẹ dárí gbèsè wa jì wá, Bí àwa ti ń dáríji àwọn ajigbèsè wa,
13 Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’
Ẹ má ṣe fà wá sínú ìdánwò, ṣùgbọ́n ẹ gbà wá lọ́wọ́ ibi. Nítorí ìjọba ni tiyín, àti agbára àti ògo, láéláé, Àmín.’
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Nítorí náà, bí ẹ̀yin bá dárí jí àwọn tó ṣẹ̀ yín, baba yín ọ̀run náà yóò dáríjì yín.
15 But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ̀yin bá kọ̀ láti dárí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ àwọn ènìyàn jì wọ́n, baba yín kò ní í dárí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ yín jì yín.
16 “Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.
“Nígbà tí ẹ̀yin bá gbààwẹ̀, ẹ má ṣe fa ojú ro bí àwọn àgàbàgebè ṣe máa ń ṣe nítorí wọn máa ń fa ojú ro láti fihàn àwọn ènìyàn pé àwọn ń gbààwẹ̀. Lóòótọ́ ni mo wí fún yín wọn ti gba èrè wọn ní kíkún.
17 But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí ìwọ bá gbààwẹ̀, bu òróró sí orí rẹ, kí ó sì tún ojú rẹ ṣe dáradára.
18 so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
Kí ó má ṣe hàn sí ènìyàn pé ìwọ ń gbààwẹ̀, bí kò ṣe sì í Baba rẹ, ẹni tí ìwọ kò rí, àti pé, Baba rẹ tí ó rí ohun tí o ṣe ni ìkọ̀kọ̀, yóò san án fún ọ.
19 “Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal;
“Má ṣe to àwọn ìṣúra jọ fún ara rẹ ní ayé yìí, níbi tí kòkòrò ti le jẹ ẹ́, tí ó sì ti le bàjẹ́ àti ibi tí àwọn olè lè fọ́ tí wọ́n yóò sì jí i lọ.
20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;
Dípò bẹ́ẹ̀ to ìṣúra rẹ jọ sí ọ̀run, níbi ti kòkòrò àti ìpáàrà kò ti lè bà á jẹ́, àti ní ibi tí àwọn olè kò le fọ́ wọlé láti jí í lọ.
21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Nítorí ibi tí ìṣúra yín bá wà níbẹ̀ náà ni ọkàn yín yóò wà pẹ̀lú.
22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
“Ojú ni fìtílà ara. Bí ojú rẹ bá mọ́lẹ̀ kedere, gbogbo ara rẹ yóò jẹ́ kìkì ìmọ́lẹ̀.
23 But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ojú rẹ kò bá dára, gbogbo ara rẹ ni yóò kún fún òkùnkùn. Bí ìmọ́lẹ̀ ti ó wà nínú rẹ bá wá jẹ́ òkùnkùn, òkùnkùn náà yóò ti pọ̀ tó!
24 “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
“Kò sì í ẹnìkan tí ó lè sin ọ̀gá méjì. Òun yóò yà kórìíra ọ̀kan tí yóò fẹ́ràn èkejì, tàbí kí ó fi ara mọ́ ọ̀kan kí ó sì yan èkejì ní ìpọ̀sí. Ẹ̀yin kò lè sin Ọlọ́run àti owó papọ̀.
25 Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
“Nítorí náà, mo wí fún yín, ẹ má ṣe ṣe àníyàn nípa ẹ̀mí yín, ohun tí ẹ ó jẹ àti èyí tí ẹ ó mu; tàbí nípa ara yín, ohun tí ẹ ó wọ̀. Ṣé ẹ̀mí kò ha ṣe pàtàkì ju oúnjẹ lọ tàbí ara ni kò ha ṣe pàtàkì ju aṣọ lọ?
26 See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?
Ẹ wo àwọn ẹyẹ ojú ọrun; wọn kì í gbìn, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn kì í kórè, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn kì í kójọ sínú àká, síbẹ̀ Baba yín tí ń bẹ ní ọ̀run ń bọ́ wọn. Ẹ̀yin kò ha níye lórí jù wọ́n lọ bí?
27 “Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?
Ta ni nínú gbogbo yín nípa àníyàn ṣíṣe ti ó lè fi ìṣẹ́jú kan kún ọjọ́ ayé rẹ̀?
28 Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin,
“Kí ni ìdí ti ẹ fi ń ṣe àníyàn ní ti aṣọ? Ẹ wo bí àwọn lílì tí ń bẹ ní igbó ti ń dàgbà. Wọn kì í ṣiṣẹ́ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni wọn kì í rànwú.
29 yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni mo wí fún yín pé, a kò ṣe Solomoni lọ́ṣọ̀ọ́ nínú gbogbo ògo rẹ̀ tó ọ̀kan nínú àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí.
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
Ǹjẹ́ bí Ọlọ́run bá wọ koríko igbó ní aṣọ bẹ́ẹ̀, èyí tí ó wà níhìn-ín lónìí ti a sì gbà sínú iná lọ́la, kò ha ṣe ni ṣe yín lọ́ṣọ̀ọ́ tó bẹ́ẹ̀ àti jù bẹ́ẹ̀ lọ, ẹ̀yin tí ìgbàgbọ́ yín kéré?
31 “Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’
Nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe ṣe àníyàn kí ẹ sì máa wí pé, ‘Kí ni àwa yóò jẹ?’ tàbí ‘Kí ni àwa yóò mu?’ tàbí ‘Irú aṣọ wo ni àwa yóò wọ̀?’
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Nítorí àwọn kèfèrí ń fi ìwọra wá àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Baba yín ní ọ̀run mọ̀ dájúdájú pé ẹ ní ìlò àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí.
33 But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
Ṣùgbọ́n, ẹ kọ́kọ́ wá ìjọba Ọlọ́run ná àti òdodo rẹ̀, yóò sì fi gbogbo àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí kún un fún yín pẹ̀lú.
34 Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
Nítorí náà, ẹ má ṣe àníyàn ọ̀la, ọ̀la ni yóò ṣe àníyàn ara rẹ̀. Wàhálà ọjọ́ kọ̀ọ̀kan ti tó fún un.
