Matthew 3
1 In those days, John the Baptizer came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying,
ತದಾನೋಂ ಯೋಹ್ನ್ನಾಮಾ ಮಜ್ಜಯಿತಾ ಯಿಹೂದೀಯದೇಶಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾನ್ತರಮ್ ಉಪಸ್ಥಾಯ ಪ್ರಚಾರಯನ್ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ,
2 “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”
ಮನಾಂಸಿ ಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತಯತ, ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯರಾಜತ್ವಂ ಸಮೀಪಮಾಗತಮ್|
3 For this is he who was spoken of by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, make the way of the Lord ready! Make his paths straight!”
ಪರಮೇಶಸ್ಯ ಪನ್ಥಾನಂ ಪರಿಷ್ಕುರುತ ಸರ್ವ್ವತಃ| ತಸ್ಯ ರಾಜಪಥಾಂಶ್ಚೈವ ಸಮೀಕುರುತ ಸರ್ವ್ವಥಾ| ಇತ್ಯೇತತ್ ಪ್ರಾನ್ತರೇ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ವದತಃ ಕಸ್ಯಚಿದ್ ರವಃ||
4 Now John himself wore clothing made of camel’s hair with a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.
ಏತದ್ವಚನಂ ಯಿಶಯಿಯಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಾ ಯೋಹನಮುದ್ದಿಶ್ಯ ಭಾಷಿತಮ್| ಯೋಹನೋ ವಸನಂ ಮಹಾಙ್ಗರೋಮಜಂ ತಸ್ಯ ಕಟೌ ಚರ್ಮ್ಮಕಟಿಬನ್ಧನಂ; ಸ ಚ ಶೂಕಕೀಟಾನ್ ಮಧು ಚ ಭುಕ್ತವಾನ್|
5 Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.
ತದಾನೀಂ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ನಗರನಿವಾಸಿನಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇ ಯಿಹೂದಿದೇಶೀಯಾ ಯರ್ದ್ದನ್ತಟಿನ್ಯಾ ಉಭಯತಟಸ್ಥಾಶ್ಚ ಮಾನವಾ ಬಹಿರಾಗತ್ಯ ತಸ್ಯ ಸಮೀಪೇ
6 They were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
ಸ್ವೀಯಂ ಸ್ವೀಯಂ ದುರಿತಮ್ ಅಙ್ಗೀಕೃತ್ಯ ತಸ್ಯಾಂ ಯರ್ದ್ದನಿ ತೇನ ಮಜ್ಜಿತಾ ಬಭೂವುಃ|
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for his baptism, he said to them, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
ಅಪರಂ ಬಹೂನ್ ಫಿರೂಶಿನಃ ಸಿದೂಕಿನಶ್ಚ ಮನುಜಾನ್ ಮಂಕ್ತುಂ ಸ್ವಸಮೀಪಮ್ ಆಗಚ್ಛ್ತೋ ವಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ಸ ತಾನ್ ಅಭಿದಧೌ, ರೇ ರೇ ಭುಜಗವಂಶಾ ಆಗಾಮೀನಃ ಕೋಪಾತ್ ಪಲಾಯಿತುಂ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಕಶ್ಚೇತಿತವಾನ್?
8 Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!
ಮನಃಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತನಸ್ಯ ಸಮುಚಿತಂ ಫಲಂ ಫಲತ|
9 Don’t think to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father,’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
ಕಿನ್ತ್ವಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ತಾತ ಇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮ್ ಅಸ್ತೀತಿ ಸ್ವೇಷು ಮನಃಸು ಚೀನ್ತಯನ್ತೋ ಮಾ ವ್ಯಾಹರತ| ಯತೋ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಅಹಂ ವದಾಮಿ, ಈಶ್ವರ ಏತೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪಾಷಾಣೇಭ್ಯ ಇಬ್ರಾಹೀಮಃ ಸನ್ತಾನಾನ್ ಉತ್ಪಾದಯಿತುಂ ಶಕ್ನೋತಿ|
10 Even now the ax lies at the root of the trees. Therefore every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
ಅಪರಂ ಪಾದಪಾನಾಂ ಮೂಲೇ ಕುಠಾರ ಇದಾನೀಮಪಿ ಲಗನ್ ಆಸ್ತೇ, ತಸ್ಮಾದ್ ಯಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಪಾದಪೇ ಉತ್ತಮಂ ಫಲಂ ನ ಭವತಿ, ಸ ಕೃತ್ತೋ ಮಧ್ಯೇಽಗ್ನಿಂ ನಿಕ್ಷೇಪ್ಸ್ಯತೇ|
11 “I indeed baptize you in water for repentance, but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
ಅಪರಮ್ ಅಹಂ ಮನಃಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತನಸೂಚಕೇನ ಮಜ್ಜನೇನ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ಮಜ್ಜಯಾಮೀತಿ ಸತ್ಯಂ, ಕಿನ್ತು ಮಮ ಪಶ್ಚಾದ್ ಯ ಆಗಚ್ಛತಿ, ಸ ಮತ್ತೋಪಿ ಮಹಾನ್, ಅಹಂ ತದೀಯೋಪಾನಹೌ ವೋಢುಮಪಿ ನಹಿ ಯೋಗ್ಯೋಸ್ಮಿ, ಸ ಯುಷ್ಮಾನ್ ವಹ್ನಿರೂಪೇ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಆತ್ಮನಿ ಸಂಮಜ್ಜಯಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.”
ತಸ್ಯ ಕಾರೇ ಸೂರ್ಪ ಆಸ್ತೇ, ಸ ಸ್ವೀಯಶಸ್ಯಾನಿ ಸಮ್ಯಕ್ ಪ್ರಸ್ಫೋಟ್ಯ ನಿಜಾನ್ ಸಕಲಗೋಧೂಮಾನ್ ಸಂಗೃಹ್ಯ ಭಾಣ್ಡಾಗಾರೇ ಸ್ಥಾಪಯಿಷ್ಯತಿ, ಕಿಂನ್ತು ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಣಿ ವುಷಾಣ್ಯನಿರ್ವ್ವಾಣವಹ್ನಿನಾ ದಾಹಯಿಷ್ಯತಿ|
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him.
ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಯೀಶು ರ್ಯೋಹನಾ ಮಜ್ಜಿತೋ ಭವಿತುಂ ಗಾಲೀಲ್ಪ್ರದೇಶಾದ್ ಯರ್ದ್ದನಿ ತಸ್ಯ ಸಮೀಪಮ್ ಆಜಗಾಮ|
14 But John would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?”
ಕಿನ್ತು ಯೋಹನ್ ತಂ ನಿಷಿಧ್ಯ ಬಭಾಷೇ, ತ್ವಂ ಕಿಂ ಮಮ ಸಮೀಪಮ್ ಆಗಚ್ಛಸಿ? ವರಂ ತ್ವಯಾ ಮಜ್ಜನಂ ಮಮ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನಮ್ ಆಸ್ತೇ|
15 But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.
ತದಾನೀಂ ಯೀಶುಃ ಪ್ರತ್ಯವೋಚತ್; ಈದಾನೀಮ್ ಅನುಮನ್ಯಸ್ವ, ಯತ ಇತ್ಥಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಧರ್ಮ್ಮಸಾಧನಮ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕರ್ತ್ತವ್ಯಂ, ತತಃ ಸೋಽನ್ವಮನ್ಯತ|
16 Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.
ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಯೀಶುರಮ್ಮಸಿ ಮಜ್ಜಿತುಃ ಸನ್ ತತ್ಕ್ಷಣಾತ್ ತೋಯಮಧ್ಯಾದ್ ಉತ್ಥಾಯ ಜಗಾಮ, ತದಾ ಜೀಮೂತದ್ವಾರೇ ಮುಕ್ತೇ ಜಾತೇ, ಸ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯಾತ್ಮಾನಂ ಕಪೋತವದ್ ಅವರುಹ್ಯ ಸ್ವೋಪರ್ಯ್ಯಾಗಚ್ಛನ್ತಂ ವೀಕ್ಷಾಞ್ಚಕ್ರೇ|
17 Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
ಅಪರಮ್ ಏಷ ಮಮ ಪ್ರಿಯಃ ಪುತ್ರ ಏತಸ್ಮಿನ್ನೇವ ಮಮ ಮಹಾಸನ್ತೋಷ ಏತಾದೃಶೀ ವ್ಯೋಮಜಾ ವಾಗ್ ಬಭೂವ|
