Matthew 25
1 “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Entonces el reino de los cielos será semejante a diez vírgenes, que tomando sus lámparas, salieron a recibir al esposo.
2 Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
Y las cinco de ellas eran prudentes, y las cinco insensatas.
3 Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,
Las que eran insensatas, tomando sus lámparas, no tomaron aceite consigo.
4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Mas las prudentes tomaron aceite en sus vasos, juntamente con sus lámparas.
5 Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
Y tardándose el esposo, cabecearon todas, y se durmieron.
6 But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’
Y a la media noche fue oído un clamor, que decía: He aquí, el esposo viene, salíd a recibirle.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Entonces todas aquellas vírgenes se levantaron, y aderezaron sus lámparas.
8 The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
Y las insensatas dijeron a las prudentes: Dádnos de vuestro aceite, porque nuestras lámparas se apagan.
9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
Mas las prudentes respondieron, diciendo: Porque no nos falte a nosotras y a vosotras, id antes a los que venden, y comprád para vosotras.
10 While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast, and the door was shut.
E idas ellas a comprar, vino el esposo; y las que estaban apercibidas, entraron con él a las bodas; y se cerró la puerta.
11 Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’
Y después vinieron también las otras vírgenes, diciendo: Señor, señor, ábrenos.
12 But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
Mas respondiendo él, dijo: De cierto os digo, que no os conozco.
13 Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
Velád pues, porque no sabéis el día ni la hora, en la cual el Hijo del hombre ha de venir.
14 “For it is like a man going into another country, who called his own servants and entrusted his goods to them.
Porque el reino de los cielos es como un hombre que partiéndose lejos, llamó a sus siervos, y les entregó sus bienes.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.
Y a éste dio cinco talentos, y al otro dos, y al otro uno; a cada uno conforme a su facultad, y se partió luego lejos.
16 Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
Y partido él, el que había recibido cinco talentos, granjeó con ellos, e hizo otros cinco talentos.
17 In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.
Semejantemente también el que había recibido dos, ganó también él otros dos.
18 But he who received the one talent went away and dug in the earth and hid his lord’s money.
Mas el que había recibido uno, fue, y cavó en la tierra, y escondió el dinero de su señor.
19 “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and settled accounts with them.
Y después de mucho tiempo vino el señor de aquellos siervos, e hizo cuentas con ellos.
20 He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents in addition to them.’
Y llegando el que había recibido cinco talentos, trajo otros cinco talentos, diciendo: Señor, cinco talentos me entregaste; he aquí, otros cinco talentos he ganado con ellos.
21 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Y su señor le dijo: Bien está, buen siervo y fiel: sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.
22 “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents in addition to them.’
Y llegando también el que había recibido dos talentos, dijo: Señor, dos talentos me entregaste; he aquí, otros dos talentos he ganado sobre ellos.
23 “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things. I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Su señor le dijo: Bien está, buen siervo y fiel: sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré: entra en el gozo de tu señor.
24 “He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you didn’t sow, and gathering where you didn’t scatter.
Y llegando también el que había recibido un talento, dijo: Señor, yo te conocía que eres hombre duro, que siegas donde no sembraste, y coges donde no derramaste:
25 I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’
Por tanto tuve miedo, y fui, y escondí tu talento en la tierra: he aquí, tienes lo que es tuyo.
26 “But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.
Y respondiendo su señor, le dijo: Mal siervo y negligente, sabías que siego donde no sembré, y que cojo donde no derramé.
27 You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.
Por tanto te convenía dar mi dinero a los banqueros, y viniendo yo, recibiera lo que es mío con usura.
28 Take away therefore the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.
Quitádle pues el talento, y dád lo al que tiene diez talentos.
29 For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.
Porque a cualquiera que tuviere le será dado, y tendrá más; pero al que no tuviere, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
30 Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Y al siervo inútil echádle en las tinieblas de afuera: allí será el llorar, y el crujir de dientes.
31 “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.
Cuando el Hijo del hombre vendrá en su gloria, y todos los santos ángeles con él, entonces se sentará sobre el trono de su gloria.
32 Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Y serán juntadas delante de él todas las naciones, y los apartará los unos de los otros, como aparta el pastor las ovejas de los cabritos;
33 He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
Y pondrá las ovejas a su derecha, y los cabritos a la izquierda.
34 Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;
Entonces el Rey dirá a los que estarán a su derecha: Veníd, benditos de mi Padre, poseéd el reino aparejado para vosotros desde la fundación del mundo;
35 for I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in.
Porque tuve hambre, y me disteis de comer: tuve sed, y me disteis de beber: fui extranjero, y me recogisteis:
36 I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me.’
Desnudo, y me cubristeis: enfermo, y me visitasteis: estuve en la cárcel, y vinisteis a mí.
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you a drink?
Entonces los justos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, y te sustentámos? ¿o sediento, y te dimos de beber?
38 When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you?
¿Cuando te vimos extranjero, y te recogimos? ¿o desnudo, y te cubrímos?
39 When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’
¿O cuándo te vimos enfermo, o en la cárcel, y vinimos a ti?
40 “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
Y respondiendo el Rey, les dirá: De cierto os digo, que en cuanto lo hicisteis a uno de estos mis hermanos pequeñitos, a mí lo hicisteis.
41 Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; (aiōnios g166)
Entonces dirá también a los que estarán a la izquierda: Idos de mí, malditos, al fuego eterno, que está aparejado para el diablo y sus ángeles; (aiōnios g166)
42 for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;
Porque tuve hambre, y no me disteis de comer: tuve sed, y no me disteis de beber:
43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’
Fui extranjero, y no me recogisteis: desnudo, y no me cubristeis: enfermo, y en la cárcel estuve, y no me visitasteis.
44 “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’
Entonces también ellos le responderán, diciendo: Señor, ¿cuándo te vimos hambriento, o sediento, o extranjero, o desnudo, o enfermo, o en la cárcel, y no te servimos?
45 “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’
Entonces les responderá, diciendo: De cierto os digo, que en cuanto no lo hicisteis a uno de estos pequeñitos, ni a mí lo hicisteis.
