Matthew 23
1 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to his disciples,
อนนฺตรํ ยีศุ รฺชนนิวหํ ศิษฺยำศฺจาวทตฺ,
2 saying, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat.
อธฺยาปกา: ผิรูศินศฺจ มูสาสเน อุปวิศนฺติ,
3 All things therefore whatever they tell you to observe, observe and do, but don’t do their works; for they say, and don’t do.
อตเสฺต ยุษฺมานฺ ยทฺยตฺ มนฺตุมฺ อาชฺญาปยนฺติ, ตตฺ มนฺยธฺวํ ปาลยธฺวญฺจ, กินฺตุ เตษำ กรฺมฺมานุรูปํ กรฺมฺม น กุรุธฺวํ; ยตเสฺตษำ วากฺยมาตฺรํ สารํ การฺเยฺย กิมปิ นาสฺติฯ
4 For they bind heavy burdens that are grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not lift a finger to help them.
เต ทุรฺวฺวหานฺ คุรุตรานฺ ภารานฺ พทฺวฺวา มนุษฺยาณำ สฺกนฺเธปริ สมรฺปยนฺติ, กินฺตุ สฺวยมงฺคุไลฺยกยาปิ น จาลยนฺติฯ
5 But they do all their works to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
เกวลํ โลกทรฺศนาย สรฺวฺวกรฺมฺมาณิ กุรฺวฺวนฺติ; ผลต: ปฏฺฏพนฺธานฺ ปฺรสารฺยฺย ธารยนฺติ, สฺววสฺเตฺรษุ จ ทีรฺฆคฺรนฺถีนฺ ธารยนฺติ;
6 and love the place of honor at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
โภชนภวน อุจฺจสฺถานํ, ภชนภวเน ปฺรธานมาสนํ,
7 the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi, Rabbi’ by men.
หฏฺเฐ นมสฺการํ คุรุริติ สมฺโพธนญฺไจตานิ สรฺวฺวาณิ วาญฺฉนฺติฯ
8 But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’, for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers.
กินฺตุ ยูยํ คุรว อิติ สมฺโพธนียา มา ภวต, ยโต ยุษฺมากมฺ เอก: ขฺรีษฺเฏอว คุรุ
9 Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.
รฺยูยํ สรฺเวฺว มิโถ ภฺราตรศฺจฯ ปุน: ปฺฤถิวฺยำ กมปิ ปิเตติ มา สมฺพุธฺยธฺวํ, ยโต ยุษฺมากเมก: สฺวรฺคสฺเถอว ปิตาฯ
10 Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ.
ยูยํ นายเกติ สมฺภาษิตา มา ภวต, ยโต ยุษฺมากเมก: ขฺรีษฺเฏอว นายก: ฯ
11 But he who is greatest among you will be your servant.
อปรํ ยุษฺมากํ มเธฺย ย: ปุมานฺ เศฺรษฺฐ: ส ยุษฺมานฺ เสวิษฺยเตฯ
12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
ยโต ย: สฺวมุนฺนมติ, ส นต: กริษฺยเต; กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวมวนตํ กโรติ, ส อุนฺนต: กริษฺยเตฯ
13 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and as a pretense you make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
หนฺต กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ, ยูยํ มนุชานำ สมกฺษํ สฺวรฺคทฺวารํ รุนฺธ, ยูยํ สฺวยํ เตน น ปฺรวิศถ, ปฺรวิวิกฺษูนปิ วารยถฯ วต กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ ยูยํ ฉลาทฺ ทีรฺฆํ ปฺรารฺถฺย วิธวานำ สรฺวฺวสฺวํ คฺรสถ, ยุษฺมากํ โฆรตรทณฺโฑ ภวิษฺยติฯ
14 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter.
หนฺต กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ, ยูยเมกํ สฺวธรฺมฺมาวลมฺพินํ กรฺตฺตุํ สาครํ ภูมณฺฑลญฺจ ปฺรทกฺษิณีกุรุถ,
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of Gehenna as yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
กญฺจน ปฺราปฺย สฺวโต ทฺวิคุณนรกภาชนํ ตํ กุรุถฯ (Geenna g1067)
16 “Woe to you, you blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obligated.’
วต อนฺธปถทรฺศกา: สรฺเวฺว, ยูยํ วทถ, มนฺทิรสฺย ศปถกรณาตฺ กิมปิ น เทยํ; กินฺตุ มนฺทิรสฺถสุวรฺณสฺย ศปถกรณาทฺ เทยํฯ
17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold?
เห มูฒา เห อนฺธา: สุวรฺณํ ตตฺสุวรฺณปาวกมนฺทิรมฺ เอตโยรุภโย รฺมเธฺย กึ เศฺรย: ?
18 And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obligated.’
อนฺยจฺจ วทถ, ยชฺญเวทฺยา: ศปถกรณาตฺ กิมปิ น เทยํ, กินฺตุ ตทุปริสฺถิตสฺย ไนเวทฺยสฺย ศปถกรณาทฺ เทยํฯ
19 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
เห มูฒา เห อนฺธา: , ไนเวทฺยํ ตนฺไนเวทฺยปาวกเวทิเรตโยรุภโย รฺมเธฺย กึ เศฺรย: ?
20 He therefore who swears by the altar, swears by it and by everything on it.
อต: เกนจิทฺ ยชฺญเวทฺยา: ศปเถ กฺฤเต ตทุปริสฺถสฺย สรฺวฺวสฺย ศปถ: กฺริยเตฯ
21 He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by him who has been living in it.
เกนจิตฺ มนฺทิรสฺย ศปเถ กฺฤเต มนฺทิรตนฺนิวาสิโน: ศปถ: กฺริยเตฯ
22 He who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by him who sits on it.
เกนจิตฺ สฺวรฺคสฺย ศปเถ กฺฤเต อีศฺวรียสึหาสนตทุปรฺยฺยุปวิษฺฏโย: ศปถ: กฺริยเตฯ
23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
หนฺต กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ, ยูยํ โปทินายา: สิตจฺฉตฺรายา ชีรกสฺย จ ทศมำศานฺ ทตฺถ, กินฺตุ วฺยวสฺถายา คุรุตรานฺ นฺยายทยาวิศฺวาสานฺ ปริตฺยชถ; อิเม ยุษฺมาภิราจรณียา อมี จ น ลํฆนียา: ฯ
24 You blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel!
เห อนฺธปถทรฺศกา ยูยํ มศกานฺ อปสารยถ, กินฺตุ มหางฺคานฺ คฺรสถฯ
25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness.
หนฺต กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ, ยูยํ ปานปาตฺราณำ โภชนปาตฺราณาญฺจ พหิ: ปริษฺกุรุถ; กินฺตุ ตทภฺยนฺตรํ ทุราตฺมตยา กลุเษณ จ ปริปูรฺณมาเสฺตฯ
26 You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that its outside may become clean also.
เห อนฺธา: ผิรูศิโลกา อาเทา ปานปาตฺราณำ โภชนปาตฺราณาญฺจาภฺยนฺตรํ ปริษฺกุรุต, เตน เตษำ พหิรปิ ปริษฺการิษฺยเตฯ
27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitened tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inwardly are full of dead men’s bones and of all uncleanness.
หนฺต กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ, ยูยํ ศุกฺลีกฺฤตศฺมศานสฺวรูปา ภวถ, ยถา ศฺมศานภวนสฺย พหิศฺจารุ, กินฺตฺวภฺยนฺตรํ มฺฤตโลกานำ กีกไศ: สรฺวฺวปฺรการมเลน จ ปริปูรฺณมฺ;
28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
ตไถว ยูยมปิ โลกานำ สมกฺษํ พหิรฺธารฺมฺมิกา: กินฺตฺวนฺต: กรเณษุ เกวลกาปฏฺยาธรฺมฺมาภฺยำ ปริปูรฺณา: ฯ
29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the tombs of the righteous,
หา หา กปฏิน อุปาธฺยายา: ผิรูศินศฺจ, ยูยํ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทินำ ศฺมศานเคหํ นิรฺมฺมาถ, สาธูนำ ศฺมศานนิเกตนํ โศภยถ
30 and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we wouldn’t have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’
วทถ จ ยทิ วยํ เสฺวษำ ปูรฺวฺวปุรุษาณำ กาล อสฺถาสฺยาม, ตรฺหิ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทินำ โศณิตปาตเน เตษำ สหภาคิโน นาภวิษฺยามฯ
31 Therefore you testify to yourselves that you are children of those who killed the prophets.
อโต ยูยํ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทิฆาตกานำ สนฺตานา อิติ สฺวยเมว เสฺวษำ สากฺษฺยํ ทตฺถฯ
32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.
อโต ยูยํ นิชปูรฺวฺวปุรุษาณำ ปริมาณปาตฺรํ ปริปูรยตฯ
33 You serpents, you offspring of vipers, how will you escape the judgment of Gehenna? (Geenna g1067)
เร ภุชคา: กฺฤษฺณภุชควํศา: , ยูยํ กถํ นรกทณฺฑาทฺ รกฺษิษฺยเธฺวฯ (Geenna g1067)
34 Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, wise men, and scribes. Some of them you will kill and crucify; and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,
ปศฺยต, ยุษฺมากมนฺติกมฺ อหํ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทิโน พุทฺธิมต อุปาธฺยายำศฺจ เปฺรษยิษฺยามิ, กินฺตุ เตษำ กติปยา ยุษฺมาภิ รฺฆานิษฺยนฺเต, กฺรุเศ จ ฆานิษฺยนฺเต, เกจิทฺ ภชนภวเน กษาภิราฆานิษฺยนฺเต, นคเร นคเร ตาฑิษฺยนฺเต จ;
35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.
เตน สตฺปุรุษสฺย หาพิโล รกฺตปาตมารภฺย เพริขิย: ปุตฺรํ ยํ สิขริยํ ยูยํ มนฺทิรยชฺญเวโทฺย รฺมเธฺย หตวนฺต: , ตทียโศณิตปาตํ ยาวทฺ อสฺมินฺ เทเศ ยาวตำ สาธุปุรุษาณำ โศณิตปาโต 'ภวตฺ ตตฺ สรฺเวฺวษามาคสำ ทณฺฑา ยุษฺมาสุ วรฺตฺติษฺยนฺเตฯ
36 Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.
อหํ ยุษฺมานฺต ตถฺยํ วทามิ, วิทฺยมาเน'สฺมินฺ ปุรุเษ สรฺเวฺว วรฺตฺติษฺยนฺเตฯ
37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!
เห ยิรูศาลมฺ เห ยิรูศาลมฺ นคริ ตฺวํ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทิโน หตวตี, ตว สมีปํ เปฺรริตำศฺจ ปาษาไณราหตวตี, ยถา กุกฺกุฏี ศาวกานฺ ปกฺษาธ: สํคฺฤหฺลาติ, ตถา ตว สนฺตานานฺ สํคฺรหีตุํ อหํ พหุวารมฺ ไอจฺฉํ; กินฺตุ ตฺวํ น สมมนฺยถา: ฯ
38 Behold, your house is left to you desolate.
ปศฺยต ยษฺมากํ วาสสฺถานมฺ อุจฺฉินฺนํ ตฺยกฺษฺยเตฯ
39 For I tell you, you will not see me from now on, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ตถฺยํ วทามิ, ย: ปรเมศฺวรสฺย นามฺนาคจฺฉติ, ส ธนฺย อิติ วาณีํ ยาวนฺน วทิษฺยถ, ตาวตฺ มำ ปุน รฺน ทฺรกฺษฺยถฯ
