Matthew 21
1 When they came near to Jerusalem and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
Y COMO se acercaron á Jerusalem, y vinieron á Bethfage, al monte de las Olivas, entónces Jesus envió dos discípulos,
2 saying to them, “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.
Diciéndoles: Id á la aldéa que está delante de vosotros, y luego hallaréis una asna atada, y un pollino con ella; desatad[la, ] y traédme[los.]
3 If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and immediately he will send them.”
Y si alguno os dijere algo, decid: El Señor los ha menester. Y luego los dejará.
4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,
Y todo esto fué hecho, para que se cumpliese lo que fué dicho por el profeta, que dijo:
5 “Tell the daughter of Zion, behold, your King comes to you, humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”
Decid á la hija de Sion: Hé aquí tu Rey viene á tí manso, y sentado sobre una asna, y [sobre] un pollino hijo de animal de yugo.
6 The disciples went and did just as Jesus commanded them,
Y los discípulos fueron, é hicieron como Jesus les mando.
7 and brought the donkey and the colt and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them.
Y trajeron la asna, y el pollino, y pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos; y se sentó sobre ellos.
8 A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
Y la compañía, [que era] muy numerosa, tendia sus mantos en el camino; y otros cortaban ramos de los árboles, y los tendian por el camino.
9 The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Y las gentes que iban delante, y las que iban detrás, aclamaban diciendo: Hosanna al Hijo de David; bendito el que viene en el nombre del Señor: Hosanna en las alturas.
10 When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”
Y entrando él en Jerusalem, toda la ciudad se alborotó, diciendo: ¿Quién es este?
11 The multitudes said, “This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”
Y las gentes decian: Este es Jesus el profeta, de Nazaret de Galiléa.
12 Jesus entered into the temple of God and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.
Y entró Jesus en el templo de Dios, echó fuera todos los que vendian y compraban en el templo, y trastornó las mesas de los cambiadores, y las sillas de los que vendian palomas;
13 He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers!”
Y les dice: Escrito esta: Mi casa, casa de oracion será llamada; mas vosotros cueva de ladrones la habeis hecho.
14 The lame and the blind came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
Entónces vinieron á él ciegos y cojos en el templo, y los sanó.
15 But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the son of David!” they were indignant,
Mas los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas, viendo las maravillas que hacia, y los muchachos aclamando en el templo, y diciendo: ¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! se indignaron,
16 and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Did you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of children and nursing babies, you have perfected praise’?”
Y le dijeron: ¿Oyes lo que estos dicen? Y Jesus les dice: Sí ¿nunca leisteis: De la boca de los niños, y de los que maman perfeccionaste la alabanza?
17 He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and camped there.
Y dejándolos, se salió fuera de la ciudad á Bethania; y posó allí.
18 Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry.
Y por la mañana volviendo á la ciudad, tuvo hambre.
19 Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it, “Let there be no fruit from you forever!” Immediately the fig tree withered away. (aiōn g165)
Y viendo una higuera cerca del camino, vino á ella, y no halló nada en ella, sino hojas solamente; y le dijo: Nunca más para siempre nazca de tí fruto. Y luego se seco la higuera. (aiōn g165)
20 When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree immediately wither away?”
Y viendo [esto] los discípulos, maravillados decian: ¡Cómo se secó luego la higuera!
21 Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.
Y respondiendo Jesus, les dijo: De cierto os digo, que si tuviereis fé, y no dudareis, no solo haréis esto de la higuera, mas si á este monte dijereis: Quítate, y échate en la mar; será hecho.
22 All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
Y todo lo que pidiereis en oracion, creyendo, [lo] recibiréis.
23 When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?”
Y como vino al templo, llegaron á él, cuando estaba enseñando, los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ancianos del pueblo, diciendo: ¿Con qué autoridad haces esto? y ¿quién te dió esta autoridad?
24 Jesus answered them, “I also will ask you one question, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Y respondiendo Jesus, les dijo: Yo tambien os preguntaré una palabra, la cual si me dijereis, tambien yo os diré con qué autoridad hago esto.
25 The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from men?” They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’
El bautismo de Juan ¿de dónde era? ¿del cielo, ó de los hombres? Ellos entónces pensaron entre sí, diciendo: Si dijéremos: Del cielo; nos dirá: ¿Por qué pues no le creísteis?
26 But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet.”
Y si dijéremos: De los hombres; tememos al pueblo; porque todos tienen á Juan por profeta.
27 They answered Jesus, and said, “We don’t know.” He also said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
Y respondiendo á Jesus dijeron: No sabemos. Y él tambien les dijo: Ni yo os digo con que autoridad hago esto.
28 But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’
Mas ¿qué os parece? Un hombre tenia dos hijos, y llegando al primero, le dijo: Hijo, ve hoy á trabajar en mi viña.
29 He answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went.
Y respondiendo él, dijo: No quiero, Mas despues arrepentido, fué.
30 He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I’m going, sir,’ but he didn’t go.
Y llegando al otro, [le] dijo de la misma manera: y respondiendo él, dijo: Yo señor, [voy.] Y no fué.
31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into God’s Kingdom before you.
¿Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad del padre? Dicen ellos: El primero. Díceles Jesus: De cierto os digo, que los publicanos y las rameras os van delante al reino de Dios;
32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him; but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.
Porque vino á vosotros Juan en camino de justicia, y no le creisteis; y los publicanos y las rameras le creyeron: y vosotros viendo [esto, ] no os arrepentísteis despues para creerle.
33 “Hear another parable. There was a man who was a master of a household who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a wine press in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.
Oid otra parábola: Fué un hombre, padre de familia, el cual plantó una viña, y la cercó de vallado, y cavó en ella un lagar; y edificó una torre, y la dió á renta á labradores, y se partió léjos.
34 When the season for the fruit came near, he sent his servants to the farmers to receive his fruit.
Y cuando se acercó el tiempo de los frutos, envió sus siervos á los labradores, para que recibiesen sus frutos.
35 The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.
Mas los labradores, tomando los siervos, al uno hirieron, y al otro mataron, y al otro apedrearon.
36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first; and they treated them the same way.
Envió de nuevo otros siervos, mas que los primeros, é hicieron con ellos de la misma manera.
37 But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
Y á la postre les envió su hijo, diciendo: Tendrán respeto á mi hijo.
38 But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and seize his inheritance.’
Mas los labradores, viendo al hijo dijeron entre sí: Este es el heredero, venid, matémosle, y tomemos su heredad.
39 So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard, then killed him.
Y tomado, le echaron fuera de la viña, y le mataron.
40 When therefore the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?”
Pues cuando viniere el señor de la viña, ¿qué hará á aquellos labradores?
41 They told him, “He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will lease out the vineyard to other farmers who will give him the fruit in its season.”
Dícenle: A los malos destruirá miserablemente, y su viña dará á renta á otros labradores, que le paguen el fruto á sus tiempos.
42 Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes’?
Díceles Jesus: ¿Nunca leisteis en las escrituras: La piedra que desecharon los que edificaban, esta fué hecha por cabeza de esquina: por el Señor es hecho esto, y es cosa maravillosa en nuestros ojos?
43 “Therefore I tell you, God’s Kingdom will be taken away from you and will be given to a nation producing its fruit.
Por tanto os digo, que el reino de Dios será quitado de vosotros, y será dado á gente que haga los frutos de él.
44 He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust.”
Y el que cayere sobre esta piedra, será quebrantado; y sobre quien ella cayere, le desmenuzará.
45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke about them.
Y oyendo los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los Fariséos sus parábolas, entendieron que hablaba de ellos.
46 When they sought to seize him, they feared the multitudes, because they considered him to be a prophet.
Y buscando como echarle mano, temieron al pueblo; porque le tenian por profeta.
