Matthew 16
1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.
൧പരീശന്മാരും സദൂക്യരും അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ആകാശത്തുനിന്ന് ഒരു അടയാളം ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് കാണിച്ചുതരണമെന്ന് അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ച് ചോദിച്ചു.
2 But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’
൨അവരോട് അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: സന്ധ്യാസമയത്ത് ആകാശം ചുവന്നുകണ്ടാൽ നല്ല തെളിവായ കാലാവസ്ഥ എന്നും
3 In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!
൩രാവിലെ ആകാശം ചുവന്ന് മേഘാവൃതമായി കണ്ടാൽ ഇന്ന് മഴക്കോൾ ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുന്നു. ആകാശത്തിന്റെ ഭാവങ്ങളെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു; എന്നാൽ കാലലക്ഷണങ്ങളെ വ്യാഖാനിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കഴിയുന്നില്ല
4 An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them and departed.
൪ദുഷ്ടതയും വ്യഭിചാരവുമുള്ള തലമുറ അടയാളം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ യോനയുടെ അടയാളമല്ലാതെ അതിന് അടയാളം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല; പിന്നെ അവൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
5 The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.
൫ശിഷ്യന്മാർ തടാകത്തിന്റെ മറുവശത്ത് എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവർ അപ്പം എടുക്കുന്ന കാര്യം മറന്നുപോയിരുന്നു.
6 Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
൬യേശു അവരോട്: പരീശന്മാരുടെയും സദൂക്യരുടെയും പുളിച്ച മാവു കരുതിയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചും കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
7 They reasoned among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.”
൭അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുപോരായ്കയാൽ ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു അവർ തമ്മിൽതമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു.
8 Jesus, perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, because you have brought no bread?
൮യേശു അത് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ട് പറഞ്ഞത്: അല്പവിശ്വാസികളേ, അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുവരായ്കയാൽ ആയിരിക്കും എന്ന് തമ്മിൽതമ്മിൽ പറയുന്നത് എന്ത്?
9 Don’t you yet perceive or remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up,
൯ഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങൾതിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? അയ്യായിരംപേർക്ക് അഞ്ച് അപ്പം കൊടുത്തിട്ട് എത്ര കൊട്ട എടുത്തു എന്നും
10 or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?
൧൦നാലായിരംപേർക്ക് ഏഴ് അപ്പം കൊടുത്തിട്ട് എത്ര കൊട്ട എടുത്തു എന്നും ഓർക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?
11 How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
൧൧അപ്പത്തെക്കുറിച്ചല്ല എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയാത്തത് എന്ത്? പരീശന്മാരുടെയും സദൂക്യരുടെയും പുളിച്ച മാവു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നത്രേ പറഞ്ഞത്
12 Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
൧൨അങ്ങനെ അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പുളിച്ച മാവല്ല, പരീശന്മാരുടെയും സദൂക്യരുടെയും ഉപദേശമത്രേ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവാൻ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞത് എന്നു അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
13 Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
൧൩യേശു ഫിലിപ്പിന്റെ കൈസര്യയുടെ പ്രദേശത്ത് എത്തിയശേഷം തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്: ജനങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ആർ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു.
14 They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
൧൪ചിലർ യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാപകൻ എന്നും മറ്റുചിലർ ഏലിയാവെന്നും വേറെ ചിലർ യിരെമ്യാവോ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഒരുവനോ എന്നും പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
൧൫എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ആർ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു വെന്ന് യേശു ചോദിച്ചു?
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
൧൬അതിനുത്തരമായി ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ്: നീ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
17 Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.
൧൭യേശു അവനോട്: ബർയോനാ ശിമോനെ, നീ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; ജഡരക്തങ്ങൾ അല്ല, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവത്രെ നിനക്ക് ഇതു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയത്.
18 I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
൧൮നീ പത്രൊസ് ആകുന്നു; ഈ പാറമേൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സഭയെ പണിയും; പാതാളഗോപുരങ്ങൾ അതിനെ ജയിക്കയില്ല എന്നും ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് പറയുന്നു. (Hadēs g86)
19 I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”
൧൯സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിന്റെ താക്കോൽ ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് തരും; നീ ഭൂമിയിൽ കെട്ടുന്നത് ഒക്കെയും സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; നീ ഭൂമിയിൽ അഴിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അഴിയപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
20 Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.
൨൦പിന്നെ താൻ ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു ആരോടും പറയാതിരിപ്പാൻ യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് കല്പിച്ചു.
21 From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.
൨൧അന്നുമുതൽ യേശു, താൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പോകണമെന്നും, മൂപ്പന്മാർ, മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാർ, ശാസ്ത്രിമാർ എന്നിവരാൽ പലതും സഹിച്ചു കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയും മൂന്നാം നാൾ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കുകയും വേണം എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.
22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”
൨൨അപ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് അവനെ വേറിട്ടു കൊണ്ടുപോയി: കർത്താവേ, അത് നിന്നിൽനിന്നു മാറിപ്പോകട്ടെ; നിനക്ക് അങ്ങനെ ഒരിക്കലും സംഭവിക്കരുതേ എന്നു ശാസിച്ചു.
23 But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”
൨൩അവനോ തിരിഞ്ഞു പത്രൊസിനോട്; എന്നെവിട്ടു മാറിപ്പോകൂ, സാത്താനെ; നീ എനിക്ക് ഇടർച്ചയാകുന്നു; നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങളല്ല, മനുഷ്യരുടെ കാര്യങ്ങളത്രേ കരുതുന്നത് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
൨൪പിന്നെ യേശു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: ഒരുവൻ എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ തന്നെത്താൻ ത്യജിച്ച്, തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.
൨൫ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ അതിനെ നഷ്ടമാക്കും; എന്റെ നിമിത്തം ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ നഷ്ടമാക്കിയാൽ അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തും.
26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?
൨൬ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ ജീവനെ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ട് സർവ്വലോകവും നേടിയത് കൊണ്ട് അവന് എന്ത് പ്രയോജനം? അല്ല, തന്റെ ജീവന് പകരമായി മനുഷ്യൻ എന്ത് കൊടുക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും?
27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.
൨൭മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിൽ തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുമായി വരും; അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഓരോരുത്തനും അവനവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം പകരം നല്കും.
28 Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”
൨൮മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിൽ വരുന്നത് കാണുവോളം മരണം ആസ്വദിക്കാത്തവർ ചിലർ ഈ നില്ക്കുന്നവരിൽ ഉണ്ട് എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
