Matthew 15
1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem, saying,
੧ਤਦ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੋਂ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ,
2 “Why do your disciples disobey the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.”
੨ਤੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਧੋਂਦੇ?
3 He answered them, “Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition?
੩ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ?
4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
੪ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਾ ਬੋਲੇ ਉਹ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
5 But you say, ‘Whoever may tell his father or his mother, “Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,”
੫ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਹੇ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਲਾਭ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।” ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।
6 he shall not honor his father or mother.’ You have made the commandment of God void because of your tradition.
੬ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਟਾਲ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,
੭ਹੇ ਕਪਟੀਓ! ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਠੀਕ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ
8 ‘These people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
੮ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ।
9 And they worship me in vain, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.’”
੯ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
10 He summoned the multitude, and said to them, “Hear, and understand.
੧੦ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਸੁਣੋ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝੋ।
11 That which enters into the mouth doesn’t defile the man; but that which proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”
੧੧ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”
੧੨ਤਦ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਠੋਕਰ ਖਾਧੀ ਹੈ?
13 But he answered, “Every plant which my heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted.
੧੩ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਬੂਟਾ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਵਰਗੀ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਾਇਆ, ਸੋ ਜੜ੍ਹੋਂ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
14 Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
੧੪ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਓ, ਉਹ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਆਗੂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਟੋਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗਣਗੇ।
15 Peter answered him, “Explain the parable to us.”
੧੫ਤਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ।
16 So Jesus said, “Do you also still not understand?
੧੬ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਭਲਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਅਜੇ ਨਿਰਬੁੱਧ ਹੋ?
17 Don’t you understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the belly and then out of the body?
੧੭ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੇ, ਕਿ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਪੇਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the man.
੧੮ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies.
੧੯ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬੁਰੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ, ਖੂਨ, ਹਰਾਮਕਾਰੀ, ਵਿਭਚਾਰ, ਚੋਰੀਆਂ, ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਗਵਾਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
20 These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands doesn’t defile the man.”
੨੦ਇਹੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਹੱਥ ਧੋਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਖਾਣੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ।
21 Jesus went out from there and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.
੨੧ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਦਾ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ।
22 Behold, a Canaanite woman came out from those borders and cried, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, you son of David! My daughter is severely possessed by a demon!”
੨੨ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਔਰਤ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚੀ-ਉੱਚੀ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੀ, ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰੋ! ਮੇਰੀ ਧੀ ਦਾ ਬੁਰੀ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਰਾ ਹਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
23 But he answered her not a word. His disciples came and begged him, saying, “Send her away; for she cries after us.”
੨੩ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ! ਤਦ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਮਗਰ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾਉਂਦੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
24 But he answered, “I wasn’t sent to anyone but the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
੨੪ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੁਆਚੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
25 But she came and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, help me.”
੨੫ਪਰ ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ।
26 But he answered, “It is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
੨੬ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਕਤੂਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਣੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
27 But she said, “Yes, Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
੨੭ਉਹ ਬੋਲੀ ਠੀਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਪਰ ਕਤੂਰੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਚੂਰੇ-ਭੂਰੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੇਜ਼ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਡਿੱਗਦੇ ਹਨ।
28 Then Jesus answered her, “Woman, great is your faith! Be it done to you even as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
੨੮ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਹੇ ਬੀਬੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਓਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
29 Jesus departed from there and came near to the sea of Galilee; and he went up on the mountain and sat there.
੨੯ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਗਲੀਲ ਦੀ ਝੀਲ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ।
30 Great multitudes came to him, having with them the lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and they put them down at his feet. He healed them,
੩੦ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੰਗੜਿਆਂ, ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ, ਗੂੰਗਿਆਂ, ਟੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਥੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
31 so that the multitude wondered when they saw the mute speaking, the injured healed, the lame walking, and the blind seeing—and they glorified the God of Israel.
੩੧ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਬੋਲਦੇ, ਟੁੰਡੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਲੰਗੜੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕੀਤੀ।
32 Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have continued with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”
੩੨ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਖਿਆਂ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਣ।
33 The disciples said to him, “Where could we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”
੩੩ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਸੀਂ ਐਨੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਲਿਆਈਏ ਜੋ ਐਡੀ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਰਜਾਈਏ?
34 Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.”
੩੪ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਹਨ? ਉਹ ਬੋਲੇ, ਸੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਥੋੜੀਆਂ ਜਿਹਿਆਂ ਨਿੱਕੀਆਂ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
35 He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;
੩੫ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਭੀੜ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ।
36 and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.
੩੬ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸੱਤ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੋੜੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡੀਆਂ।
37 They all ate and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.
੩੭ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਰੱਜ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਟੁੱਕੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਸੱਤ ਟੋਕਰੇ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਏ।
38 Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.
੩੮ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਮਰਦ ਸਨ।
39 Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.
੩੯ਫੇਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਬੇੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮਗਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ।
