Luke 22
1 Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.
੧ਅਖ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਦਾ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸਾਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਪੁੱਜਿਆ।
2 The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.
੨ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਜਾਨੋਂ ਮਾਰੀਏ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
3 Satan entered into Judas, who was also called Iscariot, who was counted with the twelve.
੩ਤਦ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਸਕਰਿਯੋਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀ।
4 He went away and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
੪ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫੜ੍ਹਵਾ ਦੇਵੇ।
5 They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
੫ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਇਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
6 He consented and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
੬ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੰਨ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਲੱਭਦਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੀੜ ਦੇ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ੍ਹਵਾਏ।
7 The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
੭ਅਖ਼ਮੀਰੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
8 Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
੮ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਪਸਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਖਾਈਏ।
9 They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”
੯ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰੀਏ?
10 He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
੧੦ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖੋ, ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਘੜਾ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਵੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਜਾਇਓ।
11 Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
੧੧ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਾ ਜੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਠਹਿਰਣ ਦਾ ਸਥਾਨ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਪਸਾਹ ਖਾਵਾਂ?
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”
੧੨ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਚੁਬਾਰਾ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵਿਖਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰੋ।
13 They went, found things as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
੧੩ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਸਾਹ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
14 When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.
੧੪ਜਦ ਉਹ ਘੜੀ ਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਣ ਬੈਠਾ।
15 He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
੧੫ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਭੋਗਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਹ ਪਸਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਖਾਵਾਂ।
16 for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.”
੧੬ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਖਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
17 He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves,
੧੭ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਲਉ।
18 for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until God’s Kingdom comes.”
੧੮ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੈਂ ਦਾਖ਼ਰਸ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਪੀਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਨਾ ਆਵੇ।
19 He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
੧੯ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੋੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਦਲੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਯਾਦਗੀਰੀ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
20 Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਹੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਵਹਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਵਾਂ ਨੇਮ ਹੈ।
21 But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
੨੧ਪਰ ਵੇਖੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਫੜਵਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਜ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ।
22 The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”
੨੨ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅਫ਼ਸੋਸ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਹ ਫੜ੍ਹਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ!
23 They began to question among themselves which of them it was who would do this thing.
੨੩ਤਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
24 A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
੨੪ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਬਹਿਸ ਵੀ ਹੋਈ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
25 He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
੨੫ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਸੋ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
26 But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
੨੬ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਛੋਟੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੇਵਕ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਣੇ।
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
੨੭ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵੱਡਾ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਖਾਣ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਭਲਾ, ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਖਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ? ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਵਕ ਵਰਗਾ ਹਾਂ।
28 “But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
੨੮ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹੋ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਤਾਵਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹੇ।
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
੨੯ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਜ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
੩੦ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਜ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣਾਂ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਗੋਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰੋਗੇ।
31 The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat,
੩੧ਹੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ, ਸ਼ਮਊਨ! ਵੇਖ, ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਣਕ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਟੇ।
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.”
੩੨ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਤੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜੇ ਕਰੀਂ।
33 He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
੩੩ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਾਂ।
34 He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
੩੪ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪਤਰਸ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਮੁਰਗਾ ਬਾਂਗ ਨਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੂੰ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਆਖੇਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
35 He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
੩੫ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਟੂਏ ਅਤੇ ਝੋਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ? ਉਹ ਬੋਲੇ, ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ।”
36 Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
੩੬ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਟੂਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸੋ ਲਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੋਲਾ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸੋ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਸਤਰ ਵੇਚ ਕੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਵੇ।
37 For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me is being fulfilled.”
੩੭ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ “ਉਹ ਅਪਰਾਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ” ਸੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
38 They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”
੩੮ਉਹ ਬੋਲੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇੱਥੇ ਦੋ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਬਹੁਤ ਹਨ!
39 He came out and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
੩੯ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੀਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਤੁਰੇ।
40 When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
੪੦ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਤਾਵੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਪਵੋ।
41 He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
੪੧ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਪੱਥਰ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਦੀ ਦੂਰੀ ਤੇ ਅਲੱਗ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਗੋਡੇ ਨਿਵਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਆਖਿਆ,
42 saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
੪੨ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾ, ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
43 An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
੪੩ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
44 Being in agony, he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
੪੪ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਂ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਤਨ-ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪਸੀਨਾ ਲਹੂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੂੰਦਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡਿੱਗਦਾ ਸੀ।
45 When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping because of grief,
੪੫ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਗ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਸੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
46 and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
੪੬ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਸੌਂਦੇ ਹੋ? ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਪਰਤਾਵੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਪਓ।
47 While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared. He who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.
੪੭ਉਹ ਅਜੇ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇੱਕ ਭੀੜ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਇਸਕਰਯੋਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਮੇ।
48 But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
੪੮ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੂਦਾ, ਭਲਾ, ਤੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੰਮ ਕੇ ਫੜ੍ਹਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
49 When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
੪੯ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਕੀ ਹੋਣ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਚਲਾਈਏ?
50 A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
੫੦ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸੱਜਾ ਕੰਨ ਵੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
51 But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this”—and he touched his ear and healed him.
੫੧ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਬਸ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੰਨ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
52 Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
੫੨ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ ਸਨ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਡਾਕੂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਂਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਫੜ੍ਹਨ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਹੋ?
53 When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
੫੩ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਰੋਜ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾ ਪਾਏ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਹੈ।
54 They seized him and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
੫੪ਤਦ ਉਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਚੱਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਕੁਝ ਦੂਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਤੁਰ ਆਇਆ।
55 When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.
੫੫ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗ ਬਾਲ ਕੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਬੈਠਾ।
56 A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
੫੬ਇੱਕ ਦਾਸੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਲੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਹ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ।
57 He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
੫੭ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਔਰਤ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ!
58 After a little while someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
੫੮ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੈਂ, ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ!
59 After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
੫੯ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਗਲੀਲੀ ਹੈ।
60 But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
੬੦ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ! ਅਤੇ ਅਜੇ ਉਹ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਮੁਰਗੇ ਨੇ ਬਾਂਗ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
61 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
੬੧ਤਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਵੱਲ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਕੀਤੀ। ਤਦੋਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਯਾਦ ਆਈ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਮੁਰਗੇ ਦੇ ਬਾਂਗ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ।
62 He went out, and wept bitterly.
੬੨ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਬਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਰੋਇਆ।
63 The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.
੬੩ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਠੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ।
64 Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
੬੪ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਜੋ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ।
65 They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.
੬੫ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੁਫ਼ਰ ਬਕਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਖੀਆਂ।
66 As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people were gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
੬੬ਜਦ ਦਿਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੰਚਾਇਤ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਾਂ-ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ,
67 “If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
੬੭ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਸੀਹ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ। ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ।
68 and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.
੬੮ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਪੁੱਛਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਨਾ ਦਿਓਗੇ।
69 From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
੬੯ਪਰ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
70 They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
੭੦ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਭਲਾ, ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈਂ? ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ।
71 They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
੭੧ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੁਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ।
