Luke 18
1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray and not give up,
മടുത്തുപോകാതെ എപ്പോഴും പ്രാൎത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നുള്ളതിന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു ഒരുപമ പറഞ്ഞതു:
2 saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God and didn’t respect man.
ദൈവത്തെ ഭയവും മനുഷ്യനെ ശങ്കയുമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ന്യായാധിപൻ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
ആ പട്ടണത്തിൽ ഒരു വിധവയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: എന്റെ പ്രതിയോഗിയോടു പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 He wouldn’t for a while; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man,
അവന്നു കുറേ കാലത്തേക്കു മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവൻ: എനിക്കു ദൈവത്തെ ഭയവും മനുഷ്യനെ ശങ്കയുമില്ല
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
എങ്കിലും വിധവ എന്നെ അസഹ്യമാക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവളെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കും; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവൾ ഒടുവിൽ വന്നു എന്നെ മുഖത്തടിക്കും എന്നു ഉള്ളുകൊണ്ടു പറഞ്ഞു.
6 The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
അനീതിയുള്ള ന്യായാധിപൻ പറയുന്നതു കേൾപ്പിൻ.
7 Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
ദൈവമോ രാപ്പകൽ തന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്ന തന്റെ വൃതന്മാരുടെ കാൎയ്യത്തിൽ ദീൎഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവൻ ആയാലും അവരെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കയില്ലയോ?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
വേഗത്തിൽ അവരെ പ്രതിക്രിയ നടത്തി രക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വരുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ഭൂമിയിൽ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടെത്തുമോ എന്നു കൎത്താവു പറഞ്ഞു.
9 He also spoke this parable to certain people who were convinced of their own righteousness, and who despised all others:
തങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു ഉറെച്ചു മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ധിക്കരിക്കുന്ന ചിലരെക്കുറിച്ചു അവൻ ഒരു ഉപമ പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
രണ്ടു മനുഷ്യർ പ്രാൎത്ഥിപ്പാൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ പോയി; ഒരുത്തൻ പരീശൻ, മറ്റവൻ ചുങ്കക്കാരൻ.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed by himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like the rest of men: extortionists, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
പരീശൻ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു തന്നോടു തന്നെ: ദൈവമേ, പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കാർ, നീതികെട്ടവർ, വ്യഭിചാരികൾ മുതലായ ശേഷം മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെയോ ഈ ചുങ്കക്കാരനെപ്പോലെയോ ഞാൻ അല്ലായ്കയാൽ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു.
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.’
ആഴ്ചയിൽ രണ്ടുവട്ടം ഉപവസിക്കുന്നു; നേടുന്നതിൽ ഒക്കെയും പതാരം കൊടുത്തുവരുന്നു; എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രാൎത്ഥിച്ചു.
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
ചുങ്കക്കാരനോ ദൂരത്തു നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കുവാൻപോലും തുനിയാതെ മാറത്തടിച്ചു: ദൈവമേ, പാപിയായ എന്നോടു കരുണയുണ്ടാകേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
അവൻ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി; മറ്റവൻ അങ്ങനെയല്ല. തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയൎത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഉയൎത്തപ്പെടും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
15 They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
അവൻ തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു ചിലർ ശിശുക്കളെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അതുകണ്ടു അവരെ ശാസിച്ചു.
16 Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these.
യേശുവോ അവരെ അരികത്തു വിളിച്ചു: പൈതങ്ങളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ വിടുവിൻ; അവരെ തടുക്കരുതു; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവരുടേതു ആകുന്നു.
17 Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”
ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ശിശുഎന്നപോലെ കൈക്കൊള്ളാത്തവൻ ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
18 A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
ഒരു പ്രമാണി അവനോടു: നല്ല ഗുരോ, ഞാൻ നിത്യജീവനെ അവകാശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. (aiōnios g166)
19 Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.
അതിന്നു യേശു: എന്നെ നല്ലവൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലാതെ നല്ലവൻ ആരും ഇല്ല. വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുതു;
20 You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”
കുല ചെയ്യരുതു; മോഷ്ടിക്കരുതു; കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുതു; നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നീ കല്പനകളെ നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21 He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”
ഇവ ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ ചെറുപ്പംമുതൽ കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടിട്ടു
22 When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
യേശു: ഇനി ഒരു കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ടു; നിനക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും വിറ്റു ദരിദ്രന്മാൎക്കു പകുത്തുകൊടുക്ക; എന്നാൽ സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും; പിന്നെ വന്നു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.
അവൻ എത്രയും ധനവാനാകകൊണ്ടു ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അതിദുഃഖിതനായിത്തീൎന്നു.
24 Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!
യേശു അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു: സമ്പത്തുള്ളവർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതു എത്ര പ്രയാസം!
25 For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”
ധനവാൻ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതു എളുപ്പം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”
ഇതു കേട്ടവർ: എന്നാൽ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാൻ ആൎക്കു കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
27 But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
അതിന്നു അവൻ: മനുഷ്യരാൽ അസാദ്ധ്യമായതു ദൈവത്താൽ സാദ്ധ്യമാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
28 Peter said, “Look, we have left everything and followed you.”
ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ സ്വന്തമായതു വിട്ടു നിന്നെ അനുഗമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസ് പറഞ്ഞു.
29 He said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, there is no one who has left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children, for God’s Kingdom’s sake,
യേശു അവരോടു: ദൈവരാജ്യം നിമിത്തം വീടോ ഭാൎയ്യയെയോ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെയോ മക്കളെയോ വിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു
31 He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed.
അനന്തരം അവൻ പന്തിരുവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു അവരോടു: ഇതാ നാം യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രവാചകന്മാർ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതു എല്ലാം നിവൃത്തിയാകും.
32 For he will be delivered up to the Gentiles, will be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit on.
അവനെ ജാതികൾക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കയും അവർ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചു അവമാനിച്ചു തുപ്പി തല്ലീട്ടു കൊല്ലുകയും
33 They will scourge and kill him. On the third day, he will rise again.”
മൂന്നാം നാൾ അവൻ ഉയിൎത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
34 They understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they didn’t understand the things that were said.
അവരോ ഇതു ഒന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ല; ഈ വാക്കു അവൎക്കു മറവായിരുന്നു; പറഞ്ഞതു അവർ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.
35 As he came near Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the road, begging.
അവൻ യെരീഹോവിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ ഒരു കുരുടൻ ഇരന്നുകൊണ്ടു വഴിയരികെ ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.
36 Hearing a multitude going by, he asked what this meant.
പുരുഷാരം കടന്നു പോകുന്നതു കേട്ടു: ഇതെന്തു എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.
37 They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
നസറായനായ യേശു കടന്നുപോകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.
38 He cried out, “Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!”
അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: യേശുവേ, ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.
39 Those who led the way rebuked him, that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “You son of David, have mercy on me!”
മുൻനടക്കുന്നവർ അവനെ മിണ്ടാതിരിപ്പാൻ ശാസിച്ചു; അവനോ: ദിവീദുപുത്രാ, എന്നോടു കരുണ തോന്നേണമേ എന്നു ഏറ്റവും അധികം നിലവിളിച്ചു.
40 Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
യേശു നിന്നു, അവനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
41 “What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
അവൻ അടുക്കെ വന്നപ്പോൾ: ഞാൻ നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കൎത്താവേ, എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച കിട്ടേണം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
യേശു അവനോടു: കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിക്ക; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
43 Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അവൻ കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വീകരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു; ജനം എല്ലാം കണ്ടിട്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പുകഴ്ച കൊടുത്തു.
