Luke 13
1 Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.
૧તે જ સમયે ત્યાં હાજર કેટલાક માણસોએ આવીને ઈસુને તે ગાલીલીઓ વિશે જણાવ્યું કે, પિલાતે તેમના યજ્ઞોના લોહીમાં તેઓનું લોહી ભેળવી દીધું.
2 Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
૨ઈસુએ તેઓને જવાબ આપતાં કહ્યું કે, ‘તે ગાલીલીઓ અન્ય ગાલીલીઓ કરતાં વધારે પાપી હતા તેથી તેઓ પર આવી વિપત્તિ આવી પડી એમ તમે માનો છો?’”
3 I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.
૩હું તમને કહું છું કે ના; પણ જો તમે પસ્તાવો નહિ કરો, તો તમે પણ એ જ રીતે નાશ પામશો.
4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them—do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?
૪અથવા શિલોઆહમાં જે અઢાર માણસો પર બુરજ તૂટી પડવાથી તેઓ મરણ પામ્યા, તેઓ યરુશાલેમમાં વસતા બીજા બધા માણસો કરતાં વધારે પાપી હતા એમ તમે માનો છો?
5 I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”
૫હું તમને કહું છું કે ના; પણ જો તમે પસ્તાવો નહિ કરો, તો તમે બધા પણ એ જ રીતે નાશ પામશો.’”
6 He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.
૬ઈસુએ આ દ્રષ્ટાંત કહ્યું કે, એક માણસની દ્રાક્ષાવાડીમાં એક અંજીરનું ઝાડ હતું. તે તેના પર ફળ શોધતો આવ્યો, પણ તેને એક પણ ફળ મળ્યું નહિ.
7 He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down! Why does it waste the soil?’
૭ત્યારે તેણે દ્રાક્ષાવાડીના માળીને કહ્યું કે, ‘જો, ત્રણ વર્ષથી આ અંજીરી પર હું ફળ શોધતો આવું છું, પણ મને એક પણ ફળ મળતું નથી; એને કાપી નાખ; તે જમીન કેમ નકામી રોકી રહી છે?’”
8 He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
૮ત્યારે માળીએ ઉત્તર આપતા કહ્યું કે, ‘શેઠ, તેને આ વર્ષ રહેવા દો, તે દરમિયાન હું એની આસપાસ ખાડો કરીશ અને ખાતર નાખીશ.
9 If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”
૯જો ત્યાર પછી તેને ફળ આવે તો ઠીક; નહિ તો તેને કાપી નાખજો.’”
10 He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.
૧૦વિશ્રામવારે ઈસુ એક સભાસ્થાનમાં ઉપદેશ કરતા હતા.
11 Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years. She was bent over and could in no way straighten herself up.
૧૧ત્યાં એક સ્ત્રી એવી હતી કે જેને અઢાર વર્ષથી બીમારીનો દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગેલો હતો. તે કૂબડી હતી અને સીધી ઊભી થઈ કે રહી શકતી જ નહોતી.
12 When Jesus saw her, he called her and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”
૧૨ઈસુએ તેને જોઈને તેને બોલાવી, અને તેને કહ્યું કે, ‘બહેન, તારી બીમારી મટી ગઈ છે.’”
13 He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight and glorified God.
૧૩ઈસુએ તેના પર હાથ મૂક્યો; અને તરત તે ટટ્ટાર થઈ અને ઈશ્વરનો મહિમા કરવા લાગી.
14 The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”
૧૪પણ વિશ્રામવારે ઈસુએ તેને સાજી કરી, તેથી સભાસ્થાનના અધિકારીએ ગુસ્સે થઈને લોકોને કહ્યું કે, ‘છ દિવસ છે જેમાં માણસોએ કામ કરવું જોઈએ, એ માટે તે દિવસોમાં આવીને સાજાં થાઓ, પણ વિશ્રામવારે નહિ.’”
15 Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath and lead him away to water?
૧૫પ્રભુએ તેઓને ઉત્તર આપતા કહ્યું કે, ‘ઓ ઢોંગીઓ, શું તમારામાં એક પણ માણસ એવો છે જે વિશ્રામવારે પોતાના બળદને કે ગધેડાને ગભાણમાંથી છોડીને પાણી પીવા સારુ લઈ જતો નથી?
16 Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”
૧૬આ સ્ત્રી જે ઇબ્રાહિમની દીકરી છે, જેને શેતાને અઢાર વર્ષથી બાંધી રાખી હતી, તેને વિશ્રામવારે છૂટી કરી એ શું ખોટું કર્યું?’”
17 As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
૧૭ઈસુ એ તે વાતો કહી ત્યારે તેમના સામેવાળા શરમિંદા થઈ ગયા; પણ અન્ય લોકો તો ઈસુ જે અદભુત કામો કરી રહ્યા હતા તે જોઈને આનંદ પામ્યા.
18 He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
૧૮ઈસુએ કહ્યું કે, ‘ઈશ્વરનું રાજ્ય શાના જેવું છે, અને હું એને શાની ઉપમા આપું?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
૧૯તે રાઈના દાણા જેવું છે. કોઈ માણસે દાણો લઈને પોતાની વાડીમાં વાવ્યો. પછી છોડ ઊગ્યો અને તે વધીને મોટું ઝાડ થયું, અને આકાશના પક્ષીઓએ તેની ડાળીઓ પર વાસો કર્યો.’”
20 Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
૨૦ફરીથી ઈસુએ કહ્યું કે, ‘ઈશ્વરનું રાજ્ય શાના જેવું છે અને હું એને શાની ઉપમા આપું?
21 It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
૨૧તે ખમીર જેવું છે. એક મહિલાએ ખમીર લઈને ત્રણ માપ લોટમાં મેળવ્યું. પરિણામે બધો લોટ ખમીરવાળો થયો.’”
22 He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
૨૨ઈસુ યરુશાલેમ તરફ મુસાફરી કરતા હતા ત્યારે માર્ગ પર આવતાં શહેર અને ગામોની મુલાકાત કરીને લોકોને બોધ કરતા હતા.’”
23 One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,
૨૩એક માણસે ઈસુને પૂછ્યું કે, ‘પ્રભુ, ઉદ્ધાર પામનાર લોકો થોડા છે શું?’ પછી ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું કે,
24 “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
૨૪‘સાંકડા દરવાજામાં થઈને પ્રવેશ કરવા કષ્ટ કરો, કારણ, હું તમને કહું છું કે ઘણાં અંદર પ્રવેશ કરવા પ્રયત્ન કરશે, પણ અંદર પ્રવેશી શકશે નહિ.
25 When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
૨૫જયારે ઘરનો માલિક ઊઠીને બારણું બંધ કરશે, અને તમે બહાર ઊભા રહીને બારણું ખટખટાવીને કહેશો કે, ‘પ્રભુ, પ્રભુ, અમારે માટે બારણાં ઉઘાડો’; અને તે તમને ઉત્તર આપતાં કહેશે કે, ‘હું તમને ઓળખતો નથી કે તમે ક્યાંનાં છો?
26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
૨૬ત્યારે તમે કહેશો કે, અમે તારી સમક્ષ ખાધું પીધું હતું અને તમે અમારા રસ્તાઓમાં બોધ કર્યો હતો.
27 He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
૨૭પણ તે કહેશે કે, હું તમને કહું છું કે, તમે ક્યાંનાં છો એ હું જાણતો નથી; હે અન્યાય કરનારાઓ, તમે લોકો મારી પાસેથી દૂર જાઓ.
28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
૨૮જયારે તમે ઇબ્રાહિમને, ઇસહાકને, યાકૂબને અને બધા પ્રબોધકોને ઈશ્વરના રાજ્યમાં જોશો, અને પોતાને બહાર કાઢી મૂકેલા જોશો, જ્યાં રડવું અને દાંત પીસવું થશે.
29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
૨૯તેઓ પૂર્વમાંથી, પશ્ચિમમાંથી, ઉત્તરમાંથી તથા દક્ષિણમાંથી લોકો આવશે, અને ઈશ્વરના રાજ્યમાં ભોજન સમારંભમાં બેસશે.
30 Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”
૩૦જોજો, જેઓ કેટલાક છેલ્લાં છે તેઓ પહેલા થશે અને જે પહેલા છે તેઓ છેલ્લાં થશે.
31 On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
૩૧તે જ ઘડીએ કેટલાક ફરોશીઓએ ઈસુ પાસે આવીને કહ્યું કે, અહીંથી જતા રહો. કેમ કે હેરોદ તમને મારી નાખવા માગે છે.
32 He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
૩૨ઈસુએ તેઓને કહ્યું, તમે જઈને એ શિયાળવાને કહો કે, જુઓ, હું આજે અને કાલે દુષ્ટાત્માઓને કાઢું છું અને રોગ મટાડું છું અને ત્રીજે દિવસે મારું કામ પૂરું થશે.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
૩૩કોઈ પણ સંજોગોમાં આજે, કાલે તથા પરમ દિવસે મારે ચાલવું જોઈએ, કેમ કે કોઈ પ્રબોધક યરુશાલેમની બહાર મૃત્યુ પામે એ શક્ય નથી.
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
૩૪ઓ યરુશાલેમ, યરુશાલેમ, પ્રબોધકોને મારી નાખનાર તથા તારી પાસે મોકલેલાને પથ્થરે મારનાર, મરઘી જેમ પોતાનાં બચ્ચાંને પાંખો નીચે એકત્ર કરે છે, તે પ્રમાણે મેં કેટલી વખત તારાં બાળકોને એકઠાં કરવાનું ચાહ્યું, પણ તમે તે થવા દીધું નહિ.
35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
૩૫જુઓ, તમારું ઘર તમારે માટે ઉજ્જડ કરી મુકાયું છે, અને હું તમને કહું છું કે, તમે કહેશો કે ‘પ્રભુને નામે જે આવે છે તે આશીર્વાદિત છે,’ ત્યાં સુધી તમે મને ફરીથી જોઈ શકવાના નથી.’”
