Leviticus 18

1 Yahweh said to Moses,

१परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला,

2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘I am Yahweh your God.

२इस्राएल लोकांस सांग, मी परमेश्वर तुमचा देव आहे.

3 You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived. You shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. You shall not follow their statutes.

३तुम्ही ज्या मिसर देशात राहत होता त्या देशातील रीतीरीवाजाप्रमाणे चालू नका! तसेच ज्या कनान देशात मी तुम्हास घेऊन जात आहे त्या देशातील चालीरीती प्रमाणेही तुम्ही चालू नका! त्यांचे विधी पाळू नका.

4 You shall do my ordinances. You shall keep my statutes and walk in them. I am Yahweh your God.

४तुम्ही माझ्याच नियमाप्रमाणे चाला व माझेच विधी पाळा! कारण मी परमेश्वर तुमचा देव आहे.

5 You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them. I am Yahweh.

५म्हणून तुम्ही माझे विधी व माझे नियम पाळावे; ते जो पाळील तो त्यांच्यामुळे जिवंत राहील! मी परमेश्वर आहे!

6 “‘None of you shall approach any close relatives, to uncover their nakedness: I am Yahweh.

६तुम्ही कोणीही आपल्याजवळच्या नातलगाशी शरीरसबंध ठेऊ नये! मी परमेश्वर आहे:

7 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, nor the nakedness of your mother: she is your mother. You shall not uncover her nakedness.

७तू तुझ्या आईबरोबर शारीरिक संबंध ठेवून आपल्या बापाचा अनादर करु नको. ती तुझी आई आहे, म्हणून तिचा आदर कर.

8 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife. It is your father’s nakedness.

८तू तुझ्या सावत्र आईबरोबर शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको, त्यामुळे तुझ्या बापाची लाज उघडी करू नको.

9 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home or born abroad.

९तू तुझ्या बहिणीशी शरीरकसंबंध ठेवू नको, ती बहीण सख्खी असो किंवा सावत्र असो; ती तुझ्या घरात जन्मलेली असो किंवा तुझ्या घराबाहेर दुसऱ्याच्या घरी जन्मलेली असो तू तिच्यापाशी जाऊ नको.

10 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter, or of your daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness; for theirs is your own nakedness.

१०तू तुझ्या नातीशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको, मग ती तुझ्या मुलाची मुलगी असो किंवा मुलीची मुलगी असो; कारण ती तुझीच लाज आहे!

11 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, conceived by your father, since she is your sister.

११जर तुझ्या वडिलाच्या पत्नीला तुझ्या बापापासून मुलगी झाली असेल तर ती तुझी बहीणच आहे; म्हणून तू तिच्याशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको.

12 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister. She is your father’s near kinswoman.

१२तुझ्या आत्याशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको. ती तुझ्या बापाची जवळची नातलग आहे.

13 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s near kinswoman.

१३तुझ्या मावशीशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको, ती तुझ्या आईची जवळची नातलग आहे.

14 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother. You shall not approach his wife. She is your aunt.

१४तू तुझ्या चुलत्याच्या पत्नीशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवून त्याची लाज उघडी करु नको त्या हेतूने तिच्या जवळ जाऊ नको; ती तुझी चुलती आहे.

15 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife. You shall not uncover her nakedness.

१५तुझ्या सुनेशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको, ती तुझ्या मुलाची पत्नी आहे तिच्याशी शारीरिक संबध ठेवू नको.

16 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife. It is your brother’s nakedness.

१६तुझ्या भावजयीशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको, ह्याप्रकारे त्याची लाज काढू नको.

17 “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. You shall not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness. They are near kinswomen. It is wickedness.

१७एखाद्या स्त्रीशी व तिच्या मुलीशी म्हणजेच दोघींशी अथवा तिच्या नातीशी मग ती तिच्या मुलाची मुलगी असो किंवा मुलीची मुलगी असो शरीरसंबंध ठेवू नको. कारण त्या जवळच्या नातलग आहेत; असे करणे अतिदुष्टपणाचे आहे.

18 “‘You shall not take a wife in addition to her sister, to be a rival, to uncover her nakedness, while her sister is still alive.

१८तुझी पत्नी जिवंत असताना तिच्या बहिणीला पत्नी करून तिला सवत करून घेऊ नको; तू तिच्या बहिणीशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको.

19 “‘You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness.

१९स्त्री ऋतुमती झाली असताना तिच्यापाशी जाऊ नको; कारण ऋतुकालात ती अशुद्ध असते.

20 “‘You shall not lie carnally with your neighbor’s wife, and defile yourself with her.

२०तू आपल्या शेजाऱ्याच्या पत्नीशी शारीरिक संबंध ठेवू नको. आणि हे करून अमंगळ होऊ नको.

21 “‘You shall not give any of your children as a sacrifice to Molech. You shall not profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.

२१तू तुझ्या लेकरांपैकी कोणाचाही मोलख दैवतासाठी होम करु नको; असे करशील तर तू आपल्या देवाच्या नावाला कलंक लावू नको. मी परमेश्वर आहे.

22 “‘You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. That is detestable.

२२स्त्रीगमनाप्रमाणे पुरुषगमन करु नको! ते भयंकर पाप आहे!

23 “‘You shall not lie with any animal to defile yourself with it. No woman may give herself to an animal, to lie down with it: it is a perversion.

२३कोणत्याही पशूशी गमन करून त्यासोबत अमंगळ होऊ नको. त्याचप्रमाणे स्त्रीने पशूशी गमन करावयासाठी त्याच्यापाशी जाऊ नये; ते कृत्य निसर्गाविरूद्ध आहे.

24 “‘Don’t defile yourselves in any of these things; for in all these the nations which I am casting out before you were defiled.

२४अशाप्रकारे स्वत: ला अशुद्ध करून घेऊ नका; कारण जी राष्ट्रे मी तुमच्यासमोरुन बाहेर घालवून देणार आहे, तेथील लोकही अशाच कृत्यांनी अशुद्ध झाले.

25 The land was defiled. Therefore I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out her inhabitants.

२५त्यांचा देश भयंकर भ्रष्ट झाला आहे, म्हणून त्यांच्या दुष्टतेमुळे मी त्यांचा समाचार घेत आहे व तो देश आपल्या रहीवाशांचा त्याग करीत आहे.

26 You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native-born, nor the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you

२६ह्याकरिता तुम्ही माझे विधी व नियम पाळावे; आणि स्वदेशीय अथवा तुमच्यात राहणारा परदेशीय ह्यापैकी कोणीही असली भयंकर अमंगळ कृत्ये करु नये.

27 (for the men of the land that were before you had done all these abominations, and the land became defiled),

२७कारण तुमच्या पूर्वी त्या देशात राहणाऱ्या लोकांनी भयंकर अमंगळ कृत्ये केल्यामुळे तो देश अमंगळ झाला आहे.

28 that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

२८जर तुम्ही या गोष्टी केल्या तर त्यांनी हा देश भ्रष्ट केला तसा तो तुमचाही त्याग करील.

29 “‘For whoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people.

२९जे कोणी ह्यातील कोणतेही अमंगळ कृत्य करतील त्या सर्वांना आपल्या लोकांतून बाहेर टाकावे.

30 Therefore you shall keep my requirements, that you do not practice any of these abominable customs which were practiced before you, and that you do not defile yourselves with them. I am Yahweh your God.’”

३०इतर लोकांनी असली भयंकर अमंगळ कृत्ये केली, परंतु तुम्ही माझे विधी व नियम पाळावेत; अशी भयंकर अमंगळ कृत्ये करून तुम्ही आपणाला अमंगळ करून घेऊ नये! मी तुमचा देव परमेश्वर आहे!
