Leviticus 11
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying to them,
१परमेश्वर मोशे व अहरोन ह्यांना म्हणाला:
2 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘These are the living things which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth.
२इस्राएल लोकांस असे सांगा की पृथ्वीवरील ज्या प्राण्यांचे मांस तुम्ही खावे ते हे:
3 Whatever parts the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and chews the cud among the animals, that you may eat.
३ज्या प्राण्यांचे खूर दुभंगलेले आहेत व जे रवंथ करतात त्यांचे मांस तुम्ही खावे.
4 “‘Nevertheless these you shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof: the camel, because it chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, is unclean to you.
४काही प्राणी रवंथ करतात परंतु त्यांचे खूर दुभंगलेले नाहीत, म्हणून ते तुम्ही अशूद्ध समजावे, जसे उंट, हा रवंथ करतो पंरतू त्याचा खुर विभागलेला नाही, म्हणून तो तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावा.
5 The hyrax, because it chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, is unclean to you.
५शाफान हा रंवथ करतो परंतु त्याचा खुर विभागलेला नाही म्हणून तुम्ही तो अशुद्ध समजावा.
6 The hare, because it chews the cud but doesn’t have a parted hoof, is unclean to you.
६ससा हा रंवथ करतो परंतु त्याचा खुर विभागलेला नाही म्हणून तुम्ही तो सुध्दा अशुद्ध समजावा.
7 The pig, because it has a split hoof, and is cloven-footed, but doesn’t chew the cud, is unclean to you.
७डुकराचे खूर दुभंगलेले आहे पण तो रवंथ करत नाही म्हणून तो तुम्हाकरिता अशुद्ध आहे.
8 You shall not eat their meat. You shall not touch their carcasses. They are unclean to you.
८या प्राण्यांचे मांस तुम्ही खाऊ नये व त्यांच्या शवांना शिवू नये; ते तुमच्यासाठी अशुद्ध आहेत.
9 “‘You may eat of all these that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.
९“जलाशयात, समुद्रात व नद्यात संचार करणाऱ्या ज्या प्राण्यांना पंख व खवले आहेत ते तुम्ही खावे.
10 All that don’t have fins and scales in the seas and rivers, all that move in the waters, and all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you,
१०जलचरापैकी समुद्रात व नद्यात संचार करणाऱ्या ज्या प्राण्यांना पंख आणि खवले नाहीत असे प्राणी तुम्ही खाऊ नये; परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने ते अयोग्य आहेत.
11 and you shall detest them. You shall not eat of their meat, and you shall detest their carcasses.
११ते तुम्ही अयोग्य समजावे; त्यांचे मांस खाऊ नये; त्यांच्या शवांना देखील शिवू नये.
12 Whatever has no fins nor scales in the waters is an abomination to you.
१२जलाशयातल्या ज्या प्राण्यांना पंख व खवले नाहीत ते देवाच्या दृष्टीने खाण्यास योग्य नाहीत ते ओंगळ समजावे.”
13 “‘You shall detest these among the birds; they shall not be eaten because they are an abomination: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture,
१३देवाच्या दृष्टीने अशुद्ध प्राण्याप्रमाणेच अशुद्ध असलेले म्हणून खाऊ नयेत ते पक्षी असे; गरुड, गीध, कुरर,
14 the red kite, any kind of black kite,
१४घार, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे ससाणे,
15 any kind of raven,
१५निरनिराळ्या जातीचे कावळे,
16 the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,
१६शहामृग, गवळण, कोकीळ, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे बहिरी ससाणे,
17 the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
१७पिंगळा, करढोक, मोठे घुबड,
18 the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,
१८पांढरे घुबड, पाणकोळी, गिधड,
19 the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
१९करकोचा, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे बगळे, टिटवी आणि वटवाघूळ.
20 “‘All flying insects that walk on all fours are an abomination to you.
२०जितके पंख असलेले कीटक प्राणी चार पायावर चालतात तितके परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने खाण्यास योग्य नाहीत; ते खाऊ नये!
21 Yet you may eat these: of all winged creeping things that go on all fours, which have long, jointed legs for hopping on the earth.
२१परंतु पायावर चालणाऱ्या व पंख असलेल्या प्राण्यांपैकी ज्यांना जमिनीवर उड्या मारण्यासाठी पायाबरोबर तंगड्या असतात ते तुम्ही खावे.
22 Even of these you may eat: any kind of locust, any kind of katydid, any kind of cricket, and any kind of grasshopper.
२२त्याचप्रमाणे निरनिरळ्या जातीचे टोळ, निरनिरळ्या जातीचे नाकतोडे, निरनिरळ्या जातीचे खरपुडे व निरनिरळ्या जातीचे गवत्ये टोळ तुम्ही खावू शकता.
23 But all winged creeping things which have four feet are an abomination to you.
२३परंतु चार पायाचे पंख असलेले इतर प्राणी परमेश्वराच्या दृष्टीने ओंगळ आहेत ते खाऊ नये.
24 “‘By these you will become unclean: whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
२४त्यांच्यामुळे तुम्ही अशुद्ध व्हाल; जो कोणी त्यांच्या शवांना स्पर्श करेल तो संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध होईल;
25 Whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
२५जो कोणी मरण पावलेल्या कीटकांना उचलील, त्याने आपली वस्त्रे धुवावी व संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे.
26 “‘Every animal which has a split hoof that isn’t completely divided, or doesn’t chew the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.
२६ज्या प्राण्याचे खूर दुभागलेले आहेत पण ते दोन अगदी सारखे भाग करीत नाहीत व जे रवंथ करीत नाहीत ते तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावेत;
27 Whatever goes on its paws, among all animals that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
२७चार पायावर चालणाऱ्या सर्व पशूपैकी जे आपल्या पंजावर चालतात ते सर्व तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे; त्याचा शवांना जो कोणी स्पर्श करेल त्याने संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे.
28 He who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. They are unclean to you.
२८जो कोणी त्यांची शवे उचलील त्याने आपली वस्त्रे धुवून संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे; ते प्राणी तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे.
29 “‘These are they which are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel, the rat, any kind of great lizard,
२९जमिनीवर रांगणाऱ्या प्राण्यांपैकी तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे ते हे: मुंगूस, उंदीर, निरनिराळ्या जातीचे सरडे,
30 the gecko, and the monitor lizard, the wall lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.
३०चोपई, घोरपड, पाल, सांडा व गुहिऱ्या सरडा.
31 These are they which are unclean to you among all that creep. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening.
३१हे प्राणी तुम्हाकरिता अशुद्ध समजावे. त्यांच्या शवांना जो कोणी स्पर्श करेल त्याने संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे.
32 Anything they fall on when they are dead shall be unclean; whether it is any vessel of wood, or clothing, or skin, or sack, whatever vessel it is, with which any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening. Then it will be clean.
३२त्यांच्यापैकी कोणी मरून एखाद्या वस्तूवर पडला तर ती वस्तूही अशुद्ध समजावी; लाकडी पात्र, वस्त्र कातडे, तरट किंवा कोणत्याही कामाचे हत्यार असो, ते पाण्यात टाकावे व संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध समजावे; मग ते धुतल्यावर शुद्ध समजावे.
33 Every earthen vessel into which any of them falls and all that is in it shall be unclean. You shall break it.
३३त्यांच्यापैकी एखादा मरुन मातीच्या पात्रात पडला तर त्या पात्रात जे काही असेल ते अशुद्ध समजावे व ते पात्र फोडून टाकावे.
34 All food which may be eaten which is soaked in water shall be unclean. All drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
३४अशुद्ध भांड्याचे पाणी अन्नावर पडल्यास ते अन्नही अशुद्ध समजावे व अशा भांड्यातील कोणतेही पेय असेल तर तेही अशुद्ध समजावे.
35 Everything whereupon part of their carcass falls shall be unclean; whether oven, or range for pots, it shall be broken in pieces. They are unclean, and shall be unclean to you.
३५त्यांच्या शवांचा एखादा भाग एखाद्या भट्टीवर किंवा चुलीवर पडला तर ती अशुद्ध समजून, तिचे तुकडे तुकडे करून ती मोडून तोडून टाकावी, ती पुन्हा शुद्ध होणार नाही; म्हणून तुम्ही ती अशुद्ध समजावी.
36 Nevertheless a spring or a cistern in which water is gathered shall be clean, but that which touches their carcass shall be unclean.
३६झरा किंवा विहीर, ज्यांच्यात सतत पाणी असते ते शुद्धच राहतात; परंतु त्याच्यातील शवांना जो स्पर्श करेल तो अशुद्ध होईल.
37 If part of their carcass falls on any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.
३७त्या प्राण्याच्या शवाचा काही भाग पेरण्याच्या बियाणावर पडला तरी ते बियाणे शुद्ध समजावे;
38 But if water is put on the seed, and part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.
३८परंतु जर बियाणे पाण्याने भिजल्यावर त्या प्राण्याच्या शवाचा काही भाग त्यावर पडला तर ते तुम्ही अशुद्ध समजावे.
39 “‘If any animal of which you may eat dies, he who touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening.
३९खाण्यास योग्य अशा प्राण्यांपैकी एखादा मेला आणि त्याच्या शवास कोणी स्पर्श केला तर त्याने संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे.
40 He who eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. He also who carries its carcass shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening.
४०कोणी त्याच्या शवाचा काही भाग खाल्ला तर त्याने आपली वस्त्रे धुवावी व संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे; जो त्याचे शव उचलील त्यानेही आपली वस्त्रे धुवावी व संध्याकाळपर्यंत अशुद्ध रहावे.
41 “‘Every creeping thing that creeps on the earth is an abomination. It shall not be eaten.
४१“जमिनीवर रांगणारे सर्व प्राणी अशुद्ध आहेत; परमेश्वराच्या सांगण्याप्रमाणे ते खाऊ नयेत.
42 Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep on the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
४२जमिनीवर जे आपल्या पोटावर सरपटतात, किंवा चार पायावर चालतात, किंवा ज्यांना फार पाय आहेत असे सरपटणारे प्राणी तुम्ही खाऊ नयेत, कारण ते ओंगळ आहेत.
43 You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps. You shall not make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled by them.
४३कोणत्याही जातीच्या रांगणाऱ्या प्राण्यामुळे तुम्ही स्वत: ला अशुद्ध करून घेऊ नका, किंवा त्यांच्यामुळे स्वत: ला अशुद्ध करून विटाळवू नका!
44 For I am Yahweh your God. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be holy; for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any kind of creeping thing that moves on the earth.
४४कारण मी परमेश्वर, तुमचा देव आहे! मी पवित्र आहे! म्हणून तुम्हीही आपणांस पवित्र असे ठेवावे! म्हणून जमिनीवर रांगणाऱ्या कोणत्याही जातीच्या प्राण्यामुळे तुम्ही आपणास विटाळवू नका!
45 For I am Yahweh who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
४५मी परमेश्वर, ज्याने तुम्हास मिसर देशातून यासाठी बाहेर आणले की तुम्ही माझे पवित्र लोक व्हावे व मी तुमचा देव असावे; मी पवित्र आहे म्हणून तुम्हीही पवित्र असावे!”
46 “‘This is the law of the animal, and of the bird, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps on the earth,
४६प्राणी, पक्षी, सर्व जलचर व जमिनीवर रांगणारे सर्व प्राणी ह्याच्याविषयी हे नियम आहेत.
47 to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.’”
४७या नियमावरून शुद्ध प्राणी व अशुद्ध प्राणी, तसेच खाण्यास योग्य असे प्राणी व जे खाऊ नयेत असे प्राणी ह्याच्यातील भेद तुम्हास समजावा.
