John 13
1 Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
Y antes de la fiesta de la pascua, sabiendo Jesús que su hora era venida para que pasase de este mundo al Padre, como había amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin.
2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,
Y la cena acabada, como el diablo ya había metido en el corazón de Júdas Iscariote, hijo de Simón, que le entregase:
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God and was going to God,
Sabiendo Jesús que el Padre le había dado todas las cosas en sus manos, y que había venido de Dios, y a Dios iba:
4 arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.
Levántase de la cena, y se quita su ropa, y tomando una toalla, se ciñó.
5 Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
Luego puso agua en el lebrillo, y comenzó a lavar los pies de los discípulos, y a limpiar los con la toalla con que estaba ceñido.
6 Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”
Viene pues a Simón Pedro; y éste le dice: ¿Señor, tú me lavas a mí los pies?
7 Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”
Respondió Jesús, y le dijo: Lo que yo hago, tú no lo sabes ahora; mas lo sabrás después.
8 Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
Dícele Pedro: No me lavarás los pies jamás. Respondióle Jesús: Si no te lavare, no tendrás parte conmigo. (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
Dícele Simón Pedro: Señor, no solo mis pies, mas aun mis manos, y mi cabeza.
10 Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”
Dícele Jesús: El que está lavado, no ha menester sino que lave sus pies, pues está todo limpio. Y vosotros limpios estáis, aunque no todos.
11 For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”
Porque sabía quien era el que le entregaba; por eso dijo: No estáis limpios todos.
12 So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
Así que, después que les hubo lavado los pies, y tomado su ropa, volviéndose a asentar otra vez, les dijo: ¿Sabéis lo que os he hecho?
13 You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
Vosotros me llamáis Maestro y Señor; y decís bien; porque lo soy:
14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Pues si yo, vuestro Señor y Maestro, he lavado vuestros pies, vosotros también debéis lavar los pies los unos a los otros.
15 For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.
Porque ejemplo os he dado, para que como yo os he hecho, vosotros también hagáis.
16 Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
De cierto, de cierto os digo: El siervo no es mayor que su Señor: ni el enviado es mayor que el que le envió.
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
Si sabéis estas cosas, bienaventurados sois, si las hiciereis.
18 I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
No hablo de todos vosotros: yo sé los que he elegido; mas para que se cumpla la Escritura: El que come pan conmigo, levantó contra mí su calcañar.
19 From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.
Desde ahora os lo digo, antes que suceda, para que cuando sucediere, creáis que yo soy.
20 Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”
De cierto, de cierto os digo, que el que recibe al que yo enviare, a mí recibe; y el que a mí recibe, recibe al que me envió.
21 When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
Como hubo Jesús dicho esto, fue conmovido en espíritu, y protestó, y dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me ha de entregar.
22 The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.
Entonces los discípulos mirábanse los unos a los otros, dudando de quien hablaba.
23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was at the table, leaning against Jesus’ chest.
Y uno de sus discípulos, al cual Jesús amaba, estaba recostado en el seno de Jesús.
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”
A éste pues hizo señas Simón Pedro, para que preguntase quien era aquel de quien hablaba.
25 He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ chest, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
El entonces recostado sobre el pecho de Jesús, le dice: ¿Señor, quién es?
26 Jesus therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
Respondió Jesús: Aquel es, a quien yo diere el pan mojado. Y mojando el pan, dió lo a Júdas Iscariote, el hijo de Simón.
27 After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”
Y tras el bocado Satanás entró en él. Entonces Jesús le dice: Lo que haces, házlo más presto.
28 Now nobody at the table knew why he said this to him.
Empero esto ninguno de los que estaban a la mesa entendió a qué propósito se lo dijo.
29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
Porque algunos de ellos pensaban, porque Júdas tenía la bolsa, que Jesús le decía: Compra las cosas que nos son necesarias para la fiesta: o que diese algo a los pobres.
30 Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.
Como él pues hubo tomado el bocado, luego salió; y era ya noche.
31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.
Entonces como él salió, dijo Jesús: Ahora es glorificado el Hijo del hombre, y Dios es glorificado en él.
32 If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.
Si Dios es glorificado en él, Dios también le glorificará en sí mismo; y luego le glorificará.
33 Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.
Hijitos, aun un poco estoy con vosotros. Me buscaréis; y así como dije a los Judíos: Donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir; así ahora a vosotros lo digo.
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
Un mandamiento nuevo os doy: Que os améis los unos a los otros: como os amé yo, que también os améis los unos a los otros.
35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
En esto conocerán todos que sois mis discípulos, si tuviereis amor los unos hacia los otros.
36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
Le dijo Simón Pedro: ¿Señor, a dónde vas? Respondióle Jesús: Donde yo voy, no me puedes ahora seguir; mas me seguirás después.
37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
Dícele Pedro: ¿Señor, por qué no te puedo seguir ahora? mi vida pondré por ti.
38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.
Repondióle Jesús: ¿Tu vida pondrás por mí? De cierto, de cierto te digo: No cantará el gallo, sin que me hayas negado tres veces.
