John 13
1 Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
১নিস্তারপর্ব্বের আগে, কারণ যীশু জানতেন যে এই পৃথিবী থেকে পিতার কাছে যাবার দিন তাঁর হয়েছে, তাই এই জগতে যারা তাঁর নিজের প্রীতিপাত্র ছিল, তিনি তাদেরকে শেষ পর্যন্তই প্রেম করলেন।
2 During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,
২আর রাতের খাবারের দিন, শয়তান আগে থেকেই শিমোনের ছেলে ঈষ্করিয়োতীয় যিহূদার মনে যীশুর সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করার ইচ্ছা জাগিয়ে দিয়েছিল।
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came from God and was going to God,
৩যীশু জানতেন যে পিতা সব কিছুই তাঁর হাতে দিয়েছিলেন এবং তিনি ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে এসেছিলেন এবং ঈশ্বরের কাছেই ফিরে যাচ্ছেন।
4 arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel and wrapped a towel around his waist.
৪তিনি ভোজ থেকে উঠলেন এবং উপরের কাপড়টি খুলে রাখলেন। তারপর একটি তোয়ালে নিলেন এবং নিজের কোমরে জড়ালেন।
5 Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
৫তারপরে তিনি একটি গামলায় জল ঢাললেন এবং শিষ্যদের পা ধোয়াতে শুরু করলেন এবং তোয়ালে দিয়ে পা মুছিয়ে দিলেন।
6 Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”
৬তিনি শিমোন পিতরের কাছে এলেন এবং পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “প্রভু, আপনি কি আমার পা ধুইয়ে দেবেন?”
7 Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”
৭যীশু উত্তরে বললেন, “আমি কি করছি তা তুমি এখন বুঝতে পারছ না কিন্তু পরে এটা বুঝতে পারবে।”
8 Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.” (aiōn g165)
৮পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “আপনি কখনও আমার পা ধুইয়ে দেবেন না।” যীশু উত্তরে তাঁকে বললেন, যদি আমি তোমার পা ধুয়ে না দিই, তবে আমার সঙ্গে তোমার কোন সম্পর্ক নেই। (aiōn g165)
9 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
৯শিমোন পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “প্রভু, কেবল আমার পা ধোবেন না, কিন্তু আমার হাত ও মাথাও ধুইয়ে দিন।”
10 Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”
১০যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, “যে কেউ স্নান করেছে, তার পা ছাড়া আর কিছু ধোয়ার দরকার নেই এবং সে সর্বাঙ্গে পরিষ্কার; তোমরা শুদ্ধ, কিন্তু তোমরা সকলে নও।”
11 For he knew him who would betray him; therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”
১১কারণ যীশু জানতেন কে তাঁর সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে; এই জন্য তিনি বললেন, “তোমরা সবাই শুদ্ধ নও।”
12 So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
১২যখন যীশু তাদের পা ধুইয়ে দিলেন এবং তাঁর পোষাক পরে আবার বসে তাদের বললেন, “তোমরা কি জানো আমি তোমাদের জন্য কি করেছি?”
13 You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
১৩তোমরা আমাকে গুরু এবং প্রভু বলে ডাক এবং তোমরা ঠিকই বল, কারণ আমিই সেই।
14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
১৪“তারপর যদি আমি প্রভু এবং গুরু হয়ে তোমাদের পা ধুইয়ে দিই, তবে তোমরাও একে অন্যের পা ধুইয়ে দিতে বাধ্য।
15 For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.
১৫সেইজন্য আমি তোমাদের একটা উপমা দিয়েছি সুতরাং তোমাদেরও এই রকম করা উচিত যা আমি তোমাদের জন্য করেছি।”
16 Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither is one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
১৬সত্য, সত্য, আমি তোমাদের যা বলছি, একজন দাস তার নিজর প্রভুর থেকে মহৎ নয়; যিনি পাঠিয়েছেন তাঁর থেকে যাকে পাঠানো হয়েছে তিনি মহৎ নয়।
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
১৭যদি তোমরা এই বিষয়গুলো জান, তোমরা যদি তাদের জন্য এগুলো কর তোমরা ধন্য হবে।
18 I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’
১৮আমি তোমাদের সকলের কথা বলছি না, আমি যাদের মনোনীত করেছি আমি তাদের জানি কিন্তু আমি এই কথা বলছি যে শাস্ত্র বাক্য পূর্ণ হবেই: যে আমার রুটি খেয়েছে, সে আমার বিরুদ্ধাচরণ করেছে।
19 From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.
১৯এটা ঘটবার আগে আমি তোমাদের বলছি যে যখন এটা ঘটবে, তোমরা অবশ্যই বিশ্বাস করবে যে, আমিই সেই।
20 Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”
২০সত্য, সত্য, আমি তোমাদের বলছি, “যে আমাকে গ্রহণ করে, যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন, সে তাঁকেই গ্রহণ করে।”
21 When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
২১যখন যীশু এই কথা বললেন, তখন তিনি আত্মাতে কষ্ট পেলেন, তিনি সাক্ষ্য দিলেন এবং বললেন, “সত্য, সত্য, আমি তোমাদের বলছি যে তোমাদের মধ্যে একজন আমার সঙ্গে বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করবে।”
22 The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.
২২শিষ্যরা একজন অন্যের দিকে তাকালো, তারা অবাক হল তিনি কার বিষয় বলছেন।
23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was at the table, leaning against Jesus’ breast.
২৩যীশুর শিষ্যদের মধ্যে একজন ঘনিষ্ট শিষ্য ছিল, যাকে যীশু প্রেম করতেন, ভোজের টেবিলে যে যীশুর কোলে হেলান দিয়ে বসেছিল।
24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”
২৪তারপর শিমোন পিতর সেই শিষ্যকে ইশারা করে বললেন, “আমাদের বলুন সে কে, তিনি কার কথা বলছেন।”
25 He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ breast, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
২৫ঐ শিষ্য যীশুর পেছন দিকে হেলে বললেন, “প্রভু, সে কে?”
26 Jesus therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
২৬যীশু তার উত্তরে বললেন, “সেই, যার জন্য আমি এই রুটির টুকরোটা ডোবাব এবং তাকে দেব।” সুতরাং তখন তিনি রুটি ডুবিয়ে, ঈষ্করিয়োতীয় শিমোনের ছেলে যিহূদাকে দিলেন।
27 After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”
২৭এবং রুটি টি দেবার পরেই, শয়তান তার মধ্যে প্রবেশ করল। তারপর যীশু তাকে বললেন, “তুমি যেটা করছ সেটা তাড়াতাড়ি কর।”
28 Now nobody at the table knew why he said this to him.
২৮ভোজের টেবিলের কেউ কারণটি জানতে পারেনি যে যীশু তাকেই বলেছিল
29 For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
২৯কিছু লোক চিন্তা করেছিল যে, যিহূদার কাছে টাকার থলি ছিল বলে যীশু তাকে বললেন, “উত্সবের জন্য যে জিনিসগুলো দরকার কিনে আন,” অথবা সে যেন অবশ্যই গরিবদের কিছু জিনিস দেয়।
30 Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.
৩০যিহূদা রুটি গ্রহণ করার পর তাড়াতাড়ি বেরিয়ে গেল; এবং তখন রাত ছিল।
31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.
৩১যখন যিহূদা চলে গেল, যীশু বললেন, “এখন মনুষ্যপুত্র মহিমান্বিত হলেন এবং ঈশ্বরও তাঁতে মহিমান্বিত হলেন।
32 If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.
৩২ঈশ্বর পুত্রকে তাঁর মাধ্যমে মহিমান্বিত করবেন এবং তিনি খুব তাড়াতাড়ি তাঁকে মহিমান্বিত হবেন।
33 Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.
৩৩আমার প্রিয় শিশুরা, আমি অল্পকালের জন্য তোমাদের সঙ্গে আছি। তোমরা আমাকে খুঁজবে এবং আমি ইহূদিদের যেমন বলেছিলাম, আমি যেখানে যাচ্ছি, সেখানে তোমরা আসতে পার না। এখন আমি তোমাদেরও তাই বলছি।”
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.
৩৪এক নতুন আদেশ আমি তোমাদের দিচ্ছি, যে তোমরা একে অন্যকে প্রেম করবে; আমি যেমন তোমাদের প্রেম করেছি, সুতরাং তোমরাও একে অন্যকে প্রেম করবে।
35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
৩৫তোমরা যদি একে অন্যকে প্রেম কর, তবে তার মাধ্যমে সব লোকেরা জানবে যে তোমরা আমার শিষ্য।
36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
৩৬শিমোন পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “প্রভু, আপনি কোথায় যাচ্ছেন?” যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, “আমি যেখানে যাচ্ছি, সেখানে তোমরা আমাকে অনুসরণ কোর না, কিন্তু পরে তোমরা আসতে পারবে।”
37 Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
৩৭পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, “প্রভু, কেন এখন আপনাকে অনুসরণ করতে পারি না? আপনার জন্য আমি আমার জীবন দেব।”
38 Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.
৩৮যীশু উত্তরে বললেন, “আমার জন্য তোমরা কি তোমাদের জীবন দেবে? সত্য, সত্য আমি তোমাকে বলছি, মোরগ ডাকার আগে তুমি তিনবার আমাকে অস্বীকার করবে।”
